    Leaving

    Here's my goodbye entry. I'm leaving for Mexico tomorrow, for two weeks. No internet access whatsoever, so that means no BZP.

    I'm not even gonna pretend to be sad. You guys are great, but I'm going on a thirty-something-hour road trip to Mexico! Woohoo!
     
    Anyway, some of you may recall this blog entry, in which I commented on the lack of snacks in my blog.
     
    So, while I'm in Mexico, feel free to help yourselves to some snacks.

    The obsession is reawakening....
     
    EYRU'S AWAKENING
     
    One day Eyru woke up on an island with a mountain There was an egg on the mountain. Eyru prompty died of happiness, and the game over screen was beautiful too.

    One day Eyru woke up in the middle of the night. Eyru had just had a dream about a beautiful girl, which usually would seem weird, but his uncle said was a natural part of growing up. So Eyru turned over and went back to sleep, and Ganon ruled the world.

    One day, Eyru went looking for a friend. An imp wearing an odd mask turned Eyru into a little plant animal thing. Eyru spent the next three days spinning in circles, then an angry rock hit the earth .

    One day, the great Deku Tree wanted to see Eyru. He sent a fairy to give the great news. Eyru was so happy upon receiving a fairy and a summons, and promptly died of happiness, and the game over screen was beautiful too.

    Les Mis and TDKR

    holy cow my mind has been blown over the past two days. seriously.
     
    My brother was in a production of Les Mis, so I went to see it on Saturday night. It was incredible, to say the least. I've seen the movie but I've never seen the play, so I didn't know what to expect, but it was brilliant. I've actually never seen anything like it. I couldn't sleep afterwards becasue it was simply so glorious and my emotions were all jumbled up.

    Then, as if I hadn't blown my mind enough, I went to see TDKR on Sunday, and wiped out every last trace of my brain. I won't spoil anything, but, suffice to say, it too was glorious. I didn't know how Chris Nolan was going to pull it off, but he did. It was amazing.
     
    So now here I am with an empty skull because I've overdosed on awesome.

    Les Misèrables

    So, I went to see ​Les Misèrables last night.
     
    Let's just say that it didn't disappoint. It was an emotional roller coaster of a ride that did justice to the play and to the book. I'm not much of a cry-er, but let me tell you: I was blinking back tears several times.
     
    Highs: Anne Hathaway as Fantine. She stole every scene she was in (which numbered too few, IMO... but that's how the story goes), and I honestly would have paid full ticket price just to see and hear her sing "I Dreamed a Dream", which was my absolute favourite scene in the film. Absolutely phenomenal; she deserves every award it's possible for her to win.
     
    Pretty much everything else. Hugh Jackman and Russel Crowe was absolutely fantastic as Jean Valjean and Javert respectively, as everyone knew they would be. Samantha Barks played Éponine brilliantly, so much so that I would say I almost enjoyed her scenes more than Jackman's. The Thénardiers (oh, Bonham Carter <3), Cosette (both young and old), Marius... oh, everyone was amazing. Absolutely amazing.
     
    Lows (which I am spoilering so you won't have to read them if you haven't seen the movie yet and don't want to judge before you get to watch it):
     
     
    Overall, though it was fantastic. I saw the musical on stage in the summer, and you can't beat Les Mis live, but this film comes pretty close. If you haven't seen it yet, I would recommend it in a heartbeat. Do yourself a favour and go see ​Les Misèrables.

    let me pick your brain

    So, I just noticed that my blog is quickly (or not-so-quickly) approaching both 200 entries and 1,000 comments. I was thinking it might be nice to celebrate one of these occasions with something special.
     
    I was contemplating holding a contest or something in my blog, with the winner receiving a Real Prize. Or maybe holding a draw for an Authentic BIONICLE Piece. You know, something special and fun.
     
    Give me your feedback and/or ideas? I want to make it special, and I want it to be fun, just because I'm excited that my blog has made it this far.

    Long weekend ahead, captain! The perfect time to do some catch-up for socials and first-aid. Also for the BZPRPG. I swear, I can't get enough.
     
    Mini-test? What mini-test? Oh, yeah. I wrote up this thing reminiscent of Gato's Mary Sue Litmus Test, only it's used to determine if you roleplay fairly. I might post it sometime, but it needs mucho refining, and I don't want to come off as presumptuous. So we'll see. Depends on if the godmodding going on right now gets better or worse. =/

    Moar Ideas

    After EW's post concerning evil characters with no affiliation, I found myself thinking about playing a character like that. These characters have, like EW said, been tried many times before, but it's hard to play them well. When you're in a large RPG like the BZPRPG, it's hard to play an evil character well enough to do anything without being connected to one of the major powers. For example, anyone with an evil character now is automatically connected to the Makuta. Everyone assumes that, if you're evil, you're on the Makuta's side.
     
    I like a challenge, so I'm keeping this idea in the back of the bean for a while, along with several other characters that I've been thinking of. There's no guarantee that I'll actually play any of them, but I'm definitely intrigued by playing an evil character with no affiliation. The possibilites are endless.
     
    Also, all this ties in excellently with an article I read on archetypes earlier today. Some of the archetypes I found quite intriguing, but couldn't think of how I would pull them off. Now I'm getting some ideas.
     
    tl;dr I might make more characters. One might be evil.

    NAME CHANGE TIME

    Some of you youngsters might not remember the good old days when I held a name change contest every month and a half, but all y'all vets will remember just fine, I'm sure. Such were the days of names like "kjanfijfaoisfjasfiseyruado," "Nukaya is Awesome," and "Delicious Chocolate Milk."
     
    Well, guess what? We're back!
     
    That's right: you lucky kids will get the honour and joy of watching me parade a silly name -that one of you submitted!- around BZPower until December. All you've gotta do is post your suggestions in this blog entry, and I'll run up a couple polls for everyone to vote on them.
     
    Rules? Yeah, there're a couple:
     
    1) Two names per member (I learned this the hard way back when Sumiki submitted a twelve-name-long list. Not this time, bud).
     
    2) All names must be BZP-friendly.
     
    3) Don't submit a name I've already had. That's boring. Come on, kids, be creative!
