Christina is mad about Steins;Gate 0 taking place in a worldline where she is dead, so she went to the Sinnoh region and used a growth serum to make a Giga Turtwig.

She is now training it. When it evolves into a kaiju-sized Torterra, then she’ll make them pay.

Wait, Bravely Second is going to have 30 Jobs, 28 are now confirmed, but there are still six Jobs from Bravely Default that haven’t been confirmed…

    Oh no

I mean I guess we don’t need every Job back, but it’s still kind of sad. It’s entirely possible that one or both of the remaining Job slots could be another new Job (Emperor, maybe?), but here are the Bravely Default Jobs that have yet to be seen and may have been cut:

    -Spell Fencer ( D: )
-Salve-Maker (We’re all glad Qada’s dead so this is good. Also I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Patisserie using its Collect ability, so it’s probably gone.)
-Arcanist (It would be kind of tough to retcon the Asterisk Holder’s death, I’m not holding out for this one.)
-Spiritmaster (Honestly it sounds like the new Bishop Job might be replacing this.)
-Vampire (Again, difficult to retcon this death. I’m still thinking that Guardian might be our new Blue Mage equivalent. I guess we don’t really need a Blue Mage, but it’d be neat to get a new one.)
-Conjurer (I feel like this has a pretty good chance of coming back since the Aserisk Holder is the guy who made the Asterisks.)

At this stage, these final two Jobs probably won’t be known until the game is released and people unlock them. (And even I can admit that Spell Fencer’s chances of being a Secret Job don’t look that good. Much despair.) I’m fully expecting Conjurer to be a Secret Job you have to jump through a bunch of hoops for like in the first game, and while I’ll be glad to have the Job back, I am not looking forward to fighting that guy again…

So I have decided to go ahead and cut three of the Queens in Divine Strength, and I’m beginning to rewrite what I’ve got so far. One thing that’s coming up is that a Queen who was cut was relating a story to two of the Queens. I could just have someone else tell the tale, but the thing is, I covered the event (and a related event a year later) in two of the short stories I wrote for Fiction Writing this semester, and I kind of like how they turned out. So, I’m considering putting those stories in as flashback chapters. Or maybe just the one.

But, there are some problems with this. The Queens reincarnate (sort of), so this event takes place nearly 500 years before the main plot, when they are inhabiting different bodies and are thus slightly different characters…well, in theory. Since I was just writing these short stories as mostly standalone, I recycled my current designs (with one exception) and general character traits for the Queens involved as their five centuries-ago selves. If I use these as flashbacks, I really should differentiate them a bit more so that this mechanic works the way I intend it.

I’m not sure that’s a good idea, though. If people are still getting to know these characters, I’m worried that seeing two different representations of them could be confusing. Then again, I could be worrying too much—it’s not that different from getting introduced to Doctor Who and then going back and watching an episode with a previous Doctor, really. Also there is a static part of each Queen that remains through reincarnation, and these chapters tie into the character arcs I’m trying to establish that last into their current lifetime. It could probably work? Maybe?

I don’t know. Should I just summarize or use these short stories as flashbacks? And if I do use flashbacks, should I maybe just leave the old Queens looking just like their current selves to avoid confusion, or should I try to make some distinctions between 500 Years Ago Queen and Present Queen?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

(And no, Korra using flashbacks to Aang doesn't count as an example. They're different enough people, and they're referred to by different names while the Queens use the same name/title in every lifetime.)

The new Regular Show was a half-hour of mecha anime references including but not limited to an opening parodying Cruel Angel's Thesis and combining with the moon via drills

And it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen

I never wanted to like this show but I've also never been able to resist it

I wasn't sure they could top revealing one of the characters to be a Russian spy but they found a way

    Congratulations Cartoon Network

So a Steins;Gate sequel was announced.

I mean there have been novels and spin-offs and drama CDs, all of which I want to read/play/listen to at some point, but this is, like, a full-on sequel.

And not only are they making a new visual novel, they are also going to go right ahead and make a new anime based on it.

So this could be really cool.

There are a lot of questions, I need to try not to get too worked up just yet. Regardless, I’m hoping they go a bit more into why Kyouma has Reading Steiner—the exact mechanics of that are something I’ve been theorizing on for a while.

I’m glad this is happening! Especially since they cancelled the novel showing them as adults in the Steins;Gate worldline. This isn’t the same content of course, but it’s still a nice replacement, I guess. Anime subs are easier to find than novel translations!

    Asterisk Holder: Konoe Kikyo

    Origin: Final Fantasy

Was It In Bravely Default?: Yes

Overview: Fast as a Monk and tricky as a Thief, the Ninja class has long been a favorite of many, not just for its aesthetic but also for the powerful abilities they tend to acquire, such as their signature Dual Wield. They also possess abilities that are great for evasion and abilities that increase how many times they attack—the combination of Transience (counter after dodging) and Utsusemi (guaranteed evade) is practically legendary. Ninja may have lost its traditional Throw and Smoke abilities in the transition to Bravely Default, but it’s still a force to be reckoned with!

Personal Thoughts: You know how I said I don’t believe in agility? Ninja is the exception. Transience and Utsusemi make a winning combination, and even using regular attacks, Ninja are perfectly capable of taking down a foe. And, if they have Cleave equipped, they might even make an extra attack after defeating that foe. But of course, the main reason we love Ninja is for Dual Wield! It might not be as broken here as it has been in Final Fantasy, but regardless of how useful you find it, it’s tough to find an ability that looks cooler, right? It’s nice to see Ninja make a comeback. Believe it!

Goddess of Evolution is a Queen story set about a year after Divine Clash. The latter story mentions the Queen of Fire paying a visit to the Queen of War, so I decided to expand upon that encounter. The goal was to make War’s motivations clearer, but I think Fire sort of stole the show?

This was going to be my third piece for Fiction Writing but that class wasn’t working out and I’m not going back. I wanted to go ahead and get it posted now. I'm going to try to focus on things like Shooting Star Sonia and Divine Strength in the near future, and hopefully something will come of that.
  8. Pahrak Model ZX
So earlier I was working on stuff for my possible novel-type thing Divine Strength, and, well…

I’m thinking I might cut a few of the Queens?

See, right now I have 12 Queens and 11 queendoms. Through feedback I’ve gotten in the Fiction Writing classes I’ve presented the idea in, some people have said that’s a bit much, and that some of the Queens might not really fit. (They also say they need normal names but I’m holding out on that one.) I was working on some new short pieces today and I thought, maybe I should actually do that?

The Queens on the block are Music, Time, and Gravity. Time I’m thinking could be used in a larger role if I ever make a sequel or something, and Music has no characteristics and is a lesser known element so could easily be pushed back into the hypothetical future. Gravity is something people have called anachronistic, and while I’d like to keep gravity magic, I guess I don’t really need it. Of course, the Queen of Gravity is integral to the story, but I’m thinking I could essentially merge her with the Queen of the Sky, who doesn’t have any traits yet. Basically the character I’m currently calling Gravity would be renamed Sky, her magic would be switched, and gravity magic and the former Sky queendom get scrapped. This then makes the Queen of the Sky and the Queen of the Land married and jointly ruing the queendom of Roche, which feels like a weird pairing of elements at first but might fit thematically with the Queens being a combination of humans (the land) and goddesses (the sky)?

Anyway that would take us to 9 Queens and 8 queendoms, which sounds more manageable and leaves me with fewer Queens who are currently hanging in the background of the plot.

Big decisions like this are tough for me. Does anyone have any food for thought they might want to throw at me?

(Also I am aware I didn’t finish any of those stories I said I would post over break, break got away from me and I’m sorry, I’ll do my best to get them out soon and I swear this is related.)

    Asterisk Holder: Cu Chulainn

    Origin: Bravely Second

Was It In Bravely Default?: No

Overview: Chariot is said to be a weapon master class capable of causing massive physical damage. It also possesses a Triple Wield ability, though how exactly this works is yet to be seen.

Personal Thoughts: Is that Asterisk Holder a centaur?! Weird. Anyway, physical powerhouse Jobs always sound pretty good to me, and if this Job is a weapon master then that means it’s probably pretty versatile. And then there’s Triple Wield, which sounds ridiculous but potentially game-breakingly awesome, so I’m looking forward to hearing more about that. Well, what’s your opinion on this Job: yay or neigh?

I like to join in popular trends sometimes

So feel free to ask me questions if you want

That also applies to after this entry falls onto that mythical second page no one’s ever read, feel free to ask me weird stuff using whatever channels you like, I can make myself approachable probably

But don’t ask me to choose between things because I’m super indecisive okay

So I’m weak and had some extra money and I bought Alpha Sapphire. I don’t plan on updating as much as a did when I played Omega Ruby, but I do want to try to develop some characters and mythology and such. Since I’ve done a lot of transferring via Poke Bank this time around, I’ve decided that Poke Bank is the Void that connects worlds from Final Fantasy, which is why the player characters are named after legendary creatures of the Void (Omega and Shinryu). I have some other ideas, but I don’t know that any of them really fit, so I’m just going to see what comes up naturally. I already discovered my starter is a vampire, so that’s cool, and feels fitting after the unfortunate events unfolding in Twitch Plays Pokémon. Anyway, current profiles!

    TEAM PROFILE: Shinryu the Human
TITLES: The Player Character, Bearer of the Stone Badge, Bearer of the Knuckle Badge, Bearer of the Dynamo Badge
Named after an otherworldly dragon, the counterpart to a superweapon named Omega. Shinryu is a True Neutral, and really doesn’t care about other people or the world around him. He only does things that benefit him. In his boredom, he decided to take up the Pokémon League Challenge. His relationship with his Pokémon is…developing. They tend to keep him on his toes, and he does seem to care about them, he’s just not particularly affectionate.

    TEAM PROFILE: Garland the Grovyle
TITLES: The Starter, Count Garland, Gym Slayer
A sassy vampire lizard plant who is somewhat of a clown. Garland was Shinryu’s starter, and is constantly poking fun at him and anyone else, sarcastic bordering on malicious. He is best known for healing himself with the energy of his opponents, first through Absorb and now through Mega Drain, revealing his true nature as a vampire. He only feeds on his opponents, though. Actually, it’s questionable if he really needs to feed, he might just do it for fun…

    TEAM PROFILE: Lily the Lombre
TITLES: The Doomed, The Bystander, The Strategist
Shinryu caught a Lotad because he knew he was going to need a Surfer before catching Kyogre, and doesn’t use her in battle. At all. With her impish nature, she gets flustered by this and argues with him and the rest of the team constantly. She is thoroughly cunning, and has offered some advice to the others in times of need, showing that she still feels like part of the team.

    TEAM PROFILE: Bladebird the Skarmory
    TITLES: The Jetsword
A Skarmory just as sassy as Garland. The two get along famously. She likes to run…despite the fact that she has wings, which Shinryu finds quite odd. Currently the slowest leveler of the team, so she is frequently sent out first in random encounters.

    TEAM PROFILE: Hyouhana the Froslass
TITLES: The Blizzard Angel, The Youkai
Hyouhana tragically died as an infant Snorunt, but what her body lacked in strength was made up by her perseverance of spirit, allowing her to live on as a Froslass. This has given her a great respect for all life, leading to her being very careful. She tends to hang back most often but can always jump in with precision in any situation. Sometimes she disappears, and, unbeknownst to her teammates, seeks out travelers lost in blizzards—but rather than leading them to their death as legends state, she actually leads them to warmth and safety, causing her to be revered in cold regions as a guardian.

    TEAM PROFILE: Usagi the Lunatone
TITLES: Gym Slayer, Champion of Love and Justice, The Lunar Guardian
Though Usagi likes to fight, they are actually quite careful most of the time. They do, however, have a habit of delivering long introductions and dramatic attack names, much to Shinryu’s frustration. Garland and Bladebird will occasionally poke fun, but aside from a few incidents it’s all in good fun.

    TEAM PROFILE: Trapinch
    TITLES: The Bulldozer, Gym Slayer
A lax Pokémon capable of taking hits. Due to her laid-back nature, she is the one Shinryu is most comfortable around, since he doesn’t need to invest any extra effort in keeping up with her. She has a background in construction and has a habit of bulldozing her opponents. She’s already developed a rather fearsome reputation, actually…

I ordered Protector of Water to get it, she(?) shall henceforth be known as Herald of the Trans Orange Mask of Fire

I also hung the Okoto map over my bed because I haven't matured at all in the past 12 years

I looked through some old stuff and apparently I’ve had the idea for this fanfic for at least a year now, it’s kinda surreal I can’t believe I actually got to it.

I’ve just begun Shooting Star Sonia, a rewrite of the first Mega Man Star Force game with Sonia/Harp Note as the protagonist instead of Geo/Mega Man. There are a few other things I’m reworking to keep it fresh and not feel like just replaying the game, but you’ll have to wait and see exactly what those might be!

Chapter 1 is dedicated to Sonia and Lyra’s first encounter. I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I get that way about a lot of my stuff, so it’s up, I did my best, tear it apart. Most future chapters are going to be “[insert FM-ian Here] Attacks!” so they’ll probably be a little longer than this one; won’t know for sure until I get to them, though. Like I mentioned before, I have 12 chapters on the outline right now, and I’m going to post them as I write them. I can’t promise a regular schedule, but I’ll do my best to make it so you’re not waiting too long between chapters.

Okay, I think that’s all I have to say. I hope you enjoy the story, and I look forward to any feedback you might have for me!
  14. Pahrak Model ZX
Okay so I was writing The Comedy of Our Generation and it wasn’t really working out. Turns out, I’m just not funny. Or in possession of the analytical ability to really pick apart G1 like I wanted to. Sucks, because I really liked the ending I had in mind. The Boneheads of Voodoo Island were going to be there and everything.

I might try to revisit it later, but I should probably redirect my energy towards things like more Okoto fanfiction or the Mega Man Star Force rewrite featuring Harp Note. You know, things people actually asked me to write. (And maybe do stuff like homework and that novel-type-thing…and video games…)

But speaking of those two other things, the tentative titles I’m thinking of using are In Our Bones and Shooting Star Sonia, both of which are pretty generic but get the point across at least. And since I usually end up using tentative titles as actual titles, those are probably here to stay so I just need to let them grow on me.

As for when to expect them, well…that’s a little trickier. With In Our Bones, I want to complete and edit it before serializing it (so I can do so on a regular schedule); for Sonia, I’m thinking I might just post each chapter to OTC as I write it. I’ll certainly try to keep up a decent pace, but that one will be longer (12 chapters?), and I want to get feedback as I go if possible. Chapter 1 is…coming along, and I’m trying to funnel all my spare creativity towards it for the time being. (A lot of it goes to potential sub-plots and developments, but I guess that’s still good?) All I can say for now is “Stay tuned!”

    Asterisk Holder: Mephilia Venus

    Origin: Final Fantasy III

Was It In Bravely Default?: Yes

Overview: Summons have been a fun part of Final Fantasy for very long time, and now they’re back again! Like the Black Mage, they focus entirely on magic, and when they run out of MP they’re in trouble. It doesn’t help that Summons have a high MP cost. However, Summons are a great way to cause massive damage to the entire field, not to mention they’re neat to watch! (And skippable.) They also learn abilities for improving Friend Summons, which makes them a bit more versatile.

Personal Thoughts: I love Summons. I also love that Bravely Default’s Summons are unique in that they’re all, like…legend-possessed things we find in our everyday world. I love Bahamut and Shiva and the rest of the FF gang, but it’s also really cool to see Summons that are, for lack of a better term, “modernized”. Like these are Summons we couldn’t have seen until fairly recently. (Except for Ziusudra’s Sin, who seems more like Shiva Jr. to me.) I do wish they could be cheaper in MP, but eh, it’s a trade-off. The method of getting summons in Bravely Default is also fairly unique, and my feelings on it can alternate. In Final Fantasy Summons can be bought, granted to you through certain story events, or fought as bosses and then earned upon defeat, depending on which game (and which Summon). In Bravely Default, the idea of them being bosses is tweaked a bit: when you challenge the “Anchorite” for the Summon (when you have at least one Summoner of high enough level), you will enter battle, but the Anchorite gets first strike and immediately uses the Summon. If at least one of your party members survives, then the battle ends and you get the Summon. Now, at first, this is really difficult and sort of frustrating. But, by the time you get to higher level Summons, you’ll have so many stats and abilities that this won’t be much of an issue, not to mention you start finding things to nullify or absorb the element that’s being thrown at you (meaning guaranteed Summon Get!). It’s unique, and I guess I like it as a whole. There’s just a bit of a slope at first. ALSO, Bravely Second will be getting at least one new Summon! I don’t know what the name is supposed to be, but it appears to be a large submarine. It’s possible this is replacing Ziusudra’s Sin as the water/ice summon, or that we’re just getting more Summons in addition to those that are returning. Or both. I would like to see new Summons, but with the way Summoner and Conjurer are set up I don’t know if there’s as much they can do to expand the Summon roster. Though, I guess if Conjurer didn’t come back…no, I’d rather have Conjurer than more Summons.

If you have Pokemon Bank, you can get free fully-evolved Johto starters with their Hidden Abilities right now!

Also, if you haven't gotten the Eon Ticket yet and live in America or Europe, you can get it via code, 2015LATIOSLATIAS in North America or POKEMON380381 in Europe. I was lucky enough to StreetPass someone with one a while back, which was pretty cool.

More on a personal level, I finally got the Mirage Cave with Unown, and after a long hunting session I have all 28! Hahaha! I've been waiting to do this for a while--it was the last thing I really wanted to do, now that I've caught all the Legendaries, my team is all Level 100, and I made sure that between all my Gen VI games I have at least one of every Mega Stone.

I really love Omega Ruby. I think it might actually be the best Pokemon game thus far. (Not to say it's necessarily my favorite, that's a bit tricky and will probably go to a Sinnoh remake if we ever get that. )

    Yes, I’m still reading Bleach.

Yes, it’s still not that good.

There are a few developments I want to semi-rant on briefly:

Anyway. I’m hoping it’ll pick up a bit soon and end on a higher note, but I’m not sure how realistic that is. Was Bleach always like this? Because I was thinking back and I realized it might not be that Bleach has gone downhill as I’ve sort of outgrown it, which is equally worrying in a way. Eh, whatever. Deep, calming breaths…

He was delayed a bit, but I wasn't expecting the next attempt until tomorrow. I was at GameStop picking up something else and the guy checked their shipment and discovered the Blue Bomber had indeed arrived!

I was hoping to take a picture with Megamiibo, Megaman.EXE, and Geo, but after ordering the Geo figure Amazon suddenly decided that all the vendors selling him didn't have him in stock. I'm not bitter at all.

Coincidentally this amiibo is named Geo Stelar.

I haven't gotten much (good) equipment on the Wii U yet, so I'm having trouble managing the ups and downs to get him some good stats. But he's been training with Greninja and Mii Brawler Kairi, and he's now Level 18! I shall continue to raise him into an expert fighter!

I’ve loved JRPGs for a while now, but Fire Emblem was something I never really considered playing. At first, I think it was because I didn’t hear about it all that often, but once I did hear about it, I quickly learned that one of its defining features is that if a character dies in battle, they do not come back. As someone who essentially takes a Leeroy Jenkins approach in most games, I knew that I would never be able to clear a game that featured permadeath. But, a week or two ago I was informed that Fire Emblem Awakening gives you an option of playing the game without permadeath. So I did a little research, then downloaded the demo, and then decided to cash in some of my GameStop points to pick up Awakening. This was a very good decision.

For starters, yes, I definitely needed Casual Mode—I lost my first unit in my third battle, I’m pretty sure every unit in my army has died at least once, and I know of a particular unit whose death count I lost track of around 5. (She did go on to become one of my best units, though.) I do want to follow the series as it goes forward, but if Casual Mode disappears then I know I’m not going to be able to. So I really, really hope it’s here to stay.

With each weapon having a limited number of uses…I am not a fan of this mechanic, but it is unique, and it isn’t that much of a pain. I guess I really only care because I’m a bit of a hoarder. I was initially disappointed that we couldn’t replay previous chapters, but then I realized there are equivalents to random battles, so it’s no great loss. The Pair Up feature is something I didn’t use a whole lot for a while. I now realize this was a bad idea and I need to use it a lot more, not just for the advantage, but because I really want to see more Support conversations. The few I have seen are delightful. I really like that units gain EXP for acting rather than just for defeating the enemy. It makes it a lot easier to power up units, especially weaker ones. The slow level progression confused me before I realized the full extent of how the Class system works. I have several upgraded classes and a few units who have maxed out an upgraded class, so now I need to get a feel for re-classing with the Second Seal, which is…something I’m wary about. I feel like what these units are doing now works so well that I don’t want to change it. Of course, I do realize their stats are frozen unless I do this, so I’m going to have to change my mind.

But what really draws me into something is simply how it feels, and while the super-over-worried part of me did rear its ugly head, I realize that those concerns are silly and, in and of itself, Fire Emblem is just plain fun. It’s a big fantastical world of swords and magic on par with Final Fantasy, with interesting mythology and abilities, plus a potentially enormous cast of characters who are all legitimately fascinating to get to know. The story is grand and epic, but there remains a vital stream of humor at the same time—not to the degree of Final Fantasy V (Awakening limiting its light tones to early chapters and the Support conversations rather than being full-on self-parody like FFV), but this is certainly not a bad thing. It strikes an excellent balance, in my opinion, and once you earn the humor it, along with the enduring hope throughout the story, keeps you and your characters strong in even the darkest moments of the plot. I had so much trouble putting this game down. I bought it on the 12th and beat it on the 19th.

One thing that kind of bothers me is that so many of the characters are only important during their introduction. I realize that this is most likely the case so that the story can continue on no matter who gets killed off, and it makes a lot of sense with the whole permadeath thing. For me, though, there were times when I felt like this giant herd was a little more faceless than I wanted it to be, and now I want to search all the Support conversations I haven’t gotten to so I can feel like they all matter. Also when you get to those few scenes where they get a statement from everyone in the army, it runs a little long. The final roster went by so slowly that the credits actually finished before it did. And I didn’t even recruit everyone. I also have a few unanswered questions/things I wanted to see in more detail, and I feel like the “find the Gemstones” part of the plot was sort of rushed. Every game has its flaws.

The dating sim element is also fun. Since I was focused mainly on the story and didn’t utilize Pair Up as much as I should’ve, there are only two couples in my army right now: Chrom and Sumia (she was clearly in love with him so I wanted it to work out), and the Avatar (Zadakh) and Anna. (At first I was just going to fight on and see if Zadakh ended up with anyone. Then I recruited Anna, and, well…she’s cute…and since then I’ve learned she’s the FE equivalent of Cid so that’s cool.) As for the children, I’ve been keeping Lucina around (though I haven’t used her quite as much as I’d like to), I recruited Cynthia but haven’t really used her at all, and I also recruited Morgan, but she’s been having trouble even after Class Changing to an Assassin. I have a lot more to explore in this area…

So basically, Fire Emblem is very engrossing, I really like it and will continue to follow it as long as they keep Casual Mode so I can actually play it. You done good, Nintendo.

    Now to play Earthbound.

Okay, so some of you probably know that I love The World Ends With You, I've mentioned it a few times before. It was an amazing DS game, and in August 2012 they released a remake for iOS devices (TWEWY Solo Remix) that carried with it a new piece of artwork heavily implying a sequel. Since then, while nothing really came of that implication, Square Enix was still doing a decent amount of stuff to keep TWEWY in our minds, so I remained hopeful.

Well, Solo Remix has now been removed from the App Store.

This saga has been playing out for a while, actually--apparently iOS 8 wouldn't run Solo Remix, someone emailed SE and they said they weren't gonna fix it, then someone said they would fix it, and, well...I guess the first person was right. If you have the game, you can still play it, but you can't download it anymore, and presumably the DLC function doesn't work anymore.

Now, Solo Remix was also released on Android last year, and it seems you can still download it on your Android devices, but I would recommend doing that fast because this does not bode well. I guess the most hopeful way to spin this is that maybe they're taking it down to release an iOS 8 compatible version, but I don't know if that's actually a thing people do and just doesn't seem that likely to me at the moment.

This is super disappointing. And things were looking so bright when they put TWEWY songs in Theatrhythm...

    Origin: Final Fantasy

Was It In Bravely Default?: Yes

Overview: The oldest, most sacred, and most essential of all Jobs, the White Mage bears the responsibility of keeping the party alive. They possess a wide range of healing and usually buff magic, and will occasionally learn a handful of damaging spells, including the Aero series. However, White Mages are not an offensive class, and often enough their healing duties will require their full attention anyway.

Personal Thoughts: You need a White Mage. You cannot go into a game and not have a White Mage and expect to survive. Healing is essential, folks, and the White Mage is the best at it. We were pretty sure this was coming back, but it’s nice to have a look at Magnolia’s costume. I like that Bravely Default gives White Mages plenty of support abilities to increase their survivability, because if your White Mage goes down, your entire party is pretty much doomed. It also helps to have them store up some extra BP when possible, because sometimes even Curaga might need to be cast more than once in a turn. There are plenty of ways to make great use of your White Mage, but one thing is for sure: you need to have at least one on your team.

    Origin: Bravely Second

Was It In Bravely Default?: No

Overview: We have been told that the Guardian is a heavy damage dealing Job that uses spiritual energy, and will supposedly use the powers of others. It has been seen using a “Soul Smash” attack.

Personal Thoughts: This looks like an interesting Job—bashing things in with glowing fists has a certain appeal to it! I’m curious about this “using the power of others” thing, though. Will this be something similar to Mimic? Or maybe this will replace Vampire as our Blue Mage equivalent? (Since DeRosso is gone, that might not be unlikely. I enjoyed Vampire, but they do have a good reason to replace it.)

...Also: The Time of the Mask Makers, The Third Swing, is live. It involves brotherly love, so it's...sort of relevant?

Completely irrelevant: I picked up Fire Emblem Awakening and my gosh it sucked me in way faster than I was expecting.
