Happy 15th, old friend. It feels like it was just yesterday when I found this amazing place in 2002. 

This is a shame. G2 never had the same spark as G1, for me, but I never felt like it was supposed to. I was 10 when Bionicle first came out. I'm 25, now. Your interests and your tastes change. 

That said, it was great seeing the sets on store shelves again and it was always fun picking up a random set every now and then. I would have never guessed that I'd build a Tahu while I was in grade school..... and then again, while I was getting my Master's Degree. I'm thankful and grateful that Bionicle was around for as long as it was, both times around. My appreciation to all the designers who made it happen. 

Maybe there will be a G3 one day. I'll remain hopeful. 

And to think I was a lurker during the Kanohi Power days. 

Such great memories attributed to this site.... and now we're all back at it again with a new storyline. Here's to another 14! 

Set of the year. Can't wait to buy it. Haven't seen it in stores, yet.

A flashback to my childhood on this site. HYSTERICAL. 

I, too, feel like Gen1 had all the things you're describing. It just never became as mainstream as the franchises you mentioned. There's hope, yet. 

What an interesting theory. Many people forgot that G1'S Vahi was made my six different 'elements' as well. 

How so? Usage of the 6 great disks? 

I'm sure he's tired of it, for one thing. He wrote a LOT. He probably also prefers to keep his head mostly filled with Gen1 facts so he doesn't get the two confused. And the decision was not necessarily entirely his; the bosses probably wanted to give Gen2 a chance to be different to see if that might draw in a different audience, to add to variety and maybe be even more successful.

Interesting. Glad to hear it wasn't political. I wonder what he thinks of all this. 

I read somewhere that a few books are planned to be released to further the story told in the online animations next year. I have heard nothing about any comic books for the new story ( ). I don't know who exactly is writing the books, but I know that person will not be Greg Farshtey. Speaking of Mr. Farshtey, he is currently working on the Lego Magazines as an editor (I think).

Is there any specific reason why he isn't returning to Bionicle?

Although I've been a fan of Bionicle since 2001... I feel like a bit of a newbie, once again, with everything new and rebooting! It's a nice feeling! In any case- indulge me this question: 

Who is writing the storyline now? And how will it be conveyed? Comic books? Scholastic reader books? 

I've been hearing around the forums that GregF is no longer in charge of Bionicle? Whatever happened? I loved his work during the original run, though I must admit I lost interest around 2007. (I've since caught up on how the story ended...)

I stopped buying after the Barakki.... who were pushing it. Takadox was pretty terrible. All those limbs, no torso. 

 

Come on now, guys. BZPower's stance on leaks hasn't changed a bit, so discussion on anything related to summer sets beyond the tiny teaser in that promo image is not allowed. There are plenty of other places to discuss those things if you must, but you'd make life much easier for the administration if you could just not do it here. Everything will be known in a couple of months, but for now, just don't talk about leaks. Rules are rules, and all.

 

Anyway, sure is a creepy mask. Looking forward to seeing the set it belongs to....

Too many to list for the original run... most of them were Toa Tool related and how they hooked onto their backs.

Here's hoping we get a Makuta set a bit quicker in the reboot universe than we did back in 2001-2003. LOL

Nabbed Tahu and Kopaka yesterday! 

They're heeeeeeeere! 

In Pembroke Pines, FL's Toys R Us. Only Kopaka, Onua, and Tahu. And in very small numbers. I think I got the second to last Tahu.... and I had to hunt for him behind other Hero Factory boxes. 

Regardless, it's a start and Tahu and Kopaka are wonderful sets. My first constraction sets and my first Bionicles since 2007. VERY different from what I remember, but building them felt like I was 12 again. I mean, I'm building TAHU. <3 So cool. 

Hope y'all have good luck finding them. 

I think it's fantastic. Recalls the original ethos of 2001, while putting a unique spin on the story.... and I assume that it keeps the original continuity intact. It feels like a great alternative universe. I'm very happy with all of it, so far. 

Beyond overjoyed that my favorite childhood toys are making a return.

Title says it all...

...I remember a few years after LEGO took down the MNOLG down there was still a way to see the episodes and play the game. Does this still exist? I'm a few years removed from BZP and Bionicle, but I thought it would be nice to get all nostalgic and remember a bit of my childhood.
