Well I promised you some pics from my trip, so here they are!

Here is a Dam, not sure which one. (hey I was tired)

This is just outside East Wenatchee, WA.

    Cool Clouds!

Look closely, you can see the snow streaming down the mountian here.

Beautiful Levenworth, we had lots of fun there, there was even a toy store with Lego Bricks!

Lastly, this is one of the higher peaks of the regional Cascades.

    Oldies!
Please note that this gallery is not mine.

I never even knew these kinds of bricks existed! Has anybody ever seen Lego Bricks like these before? I want them, for nostalgia! Neat colors on them too, a different shade than most of the parts we see today.

Ill be taking this weekend off of work for vacation. I am headed over the cascades to eastern Washington to visit my family, probably for the last time for many years. Ill be stopping by all the stores that carry lego I can find, hopefully I can get a good deal or find a new set! It has been so warm here lately, 80s is abnormal for this area around this time of year. Its only going to get hotter toward the east too, should make for some great outdoor fun! If the weather gets bad, I always have my trusty Nintendo DS at my side. Ill be taking Final Fantasy VI Advance, Metroid Hunters, Tetris DS and a few other games. Most of my time will be spent playing FFVIA though, as I will be unable to have any wifi games.

Ill be taking lots of pictures while I am on vacation, maybe I will even share a few of them here. Vacation only comes one time a year so I must enjoy every last bit of it, then it is back to the job again.

    Vote here!

Well I have made it to the semis, however I doubt I will make the finals. There are some great entries in that poll, Lyger really outdid himself with that Seahorse! Anyway if you deem my entry worthy(vote for number 1!), I could use your votes. Good luck to all in the semifinals!

Oh, yea, I made a new thingy too, see over there --------->

    Vote here!

Well it is once again time for the great BBC voting process to begin. All the anticipation has come to its peak, and we are set to begin the elimination process. Thanks to all the contest assistants, and of course Tufi for spoiling us once again with the fun of the polls.

If you deem my Mutagen Leech worthy, I could use your votes here. Its looking to be a very close vote, I am pitted against the Grimor Queen, a gigantic and well done entry. No easy road to the semi finals for me this time!

    Amazing!

This is the most concrete evidence that dark matter does indeed exist. I have always found astronomy and space studies to be alluring, and essential to sustaining our civilization. Its a proven fact that single planet civilizations do not last, for a number of reasons. A large meteor, natural disasters, the sun burning out, climate, the earths climate is going downhill now as it is. The only safe place for us to continue our way of life will be the stars eventually. I do believe there is other types of intelligent life out there, just too far away for us to prove it, who agrees and disagrees with that?

Anyway, this article is worth a read if you also enjoy space. Its almost hypnotic looking at the image there, the darker areas are what they claim is the dark matter, which comes from the collision of galaxies. Space is just so huge and vast, its like a never ending chain of wonder.

Be it an old toy, book, anything. What would it be? For me I do not even have to think about it, allthough He-Man comes close.

    Nummy

Why, why was this wonderful beverage taken off the market? I bought it by the cases and drank every last drop. The taste was great and Ill never forget being able to trick people into thinking it was sprite or 7up. Its even become a bit of a collectors item as seen here.

So, what other nostalgic stuff would you like to see come back?

    My ugly mug

Well since this will be my first blog entry under the personal life category its time I elaborate on it!

My everyday life is that of your normal boring adult, get up and go to work, come home have dinner and go to bed. I am not your normal adult though as many tell me I am just like a big kid! At 26 years old I find my intrest in Bionicle and MoCing to be at an all time high. Video games are also a big part of my personal life as I am a huge gamer. I own just about every console and handheld ever made clear back to the Atari 2600, though I am a bit of a retro gamer who chooses to live in the past playing my Legend of Zelda and other NES games. I have been playing alot of Metroid Hunters lately, thanks to finding good friends like Kohaku, Alku and Kinali here at BZP. Sports have always been a mainstay of mine. I like most all kinds but I enjoy actually playing only Basketball and Football. I do a bit of collecting also, mostly coins but I do have a few swords which I also collect. I have a big thing for weaponry I suppose.

My family is also a big part of my personal life, my girlfriend and daughter bring me a smile everyday. My little girl always goes on about how she is lucky to have a dad who enjoys building Lego Bricks with her. She has even helped me on a few of my recent MoCs! I am hopeful she will follow in her old mans footsteps and become an accomplished MoCist.

Work is also a big part of this life of mine, without it I would not have such a huge lego and video game collection. I work in a gas station, we do propane, espresso and stuff like that. The money is good but like most jobs it can get boring and tiresome, enjoy your youth while you can guys! I hope this entry gives you all a bit more perspective on me, I am really just a big kid underneath this beard .

I have been looking for this set for quite awhile now as it has some lime green parts that I liked. It was sold out everywhere it seemed but now I have it!

    Great Parts!

As you can see, there is some good stuff in there. My favorite parts are the trans green bubble shields, lime green pohatu nuva claw and fusion parts here, plus the green vent pieces shown here.

I always wanted one of those mini disc shooters too. The battle droid minifig has a trans-lime color too and one can never have enough of those arms. This was my favorite of the 15.00 dollar Exo-Force sets this year and I am glad I finally found it. Of course I will not be building the set itself, those parts are going directly into the MoCing box!

    My BBC 43 Entry!

I wanted to make something unique and original, something that nobody else would make, this suited me perfectly. The head design is something totally new, at least I have never seen it before. I remember Cajun using a similar "Weave" style and I wanted to put my own spin on it. I am hopeful that this entry will do well enough for the finals but it is still way to early to tell.

The Leech is commanded by Kalmah since I thoguht he would be the best Barraki to relate to it, allthough Ehlek crossed my mind too. Making the body round proved very difficult, until I pulled out my stash of tires , which worked out pretty well and gave me the shape I wanted.
  11. CzaR
    Cool

Wow this has been a busy year for BBC contests! I have been waiting for a theme like this one for awhile now and I have a few ideas I have started to build on. What makes it even more alluring is that the Barraki are directly tied into the theme. This years sets should be a big help in building something aquatic. The contest also states that only 1 MoC can be entered, which should make things that much more interesting come voting time. I doubt that this contest will see as much activity as the last 2 but should still have a solid turnout.

Luckily for me this contest is not quite as demanding as the last one. I think I will set my goal for the final voting this time!

    Vote for entry 3 here!

First of all, thank you oh so much Tufi for your patience in getting the polls up, you are so good to us . Looks like I am in poll Alpha, hopefully the Rahi of Mahri Nui will gain some votes there. This was another unique contest, not to mention challenging, well for me anyway. This was my first build with my only thought being "make it cute", needless to say I had quite a difficult time making something at least satisfactory. Should be alot of fun to see who will be making the semi-finals!

Well there are a ton of preliminary polls again for this contest! I spent about 15 minutes just trying to find my poll, and I thought the last BBC contest had a big turnout! I am hopeful that this voting process will not leave out some of the better and more cute creations due to the huge number of polls. Ill try to get my votes cast in all of the polls and reply to the topics, nothing is for sure though.

Lastly, I would like to declare that I will NOT be building anymore cute rahi any time soon. Sorry all but my forte is big and bulky .
  13. CzaR
    Have a look!

This was a very challenging contest for me. Building small, cute rahi is clearly not my forte, still I did try and make something presentable and fitting the theme. I swear I seem to have the worst timing, my Armadillo would have been a perfect fit for this contest. That ended up being my 1200th post special MoC though, only about a month ago! I think this voting process will be unique in that the entries will all share the same trait, cuteness. Color scheme, the build itself, proportions, all of that is going out the window and the only criteria to get votes is being cute. Fresh and new, just what the BBC needed a dose of I think, funny how the contest started as a prank and has become what it is now.

I am very anxious to see who will walk away with the win for this contest.
  14. CzaR
    Score!

So as I was out shopping today, I knew I had to find this game. I ended up going to 3 different stores, including Gamestop and TRU and nobody had it. Feeling bummed out I realized we needed groceries so I headed for K-Mart, which never has ANY new games when they are first released. By chance I took a peek in the gaming section and found 1 of the last 2 copies they had hidden on the bottom shelf. This has been hyped to be the best game on the Wii, hopefully it will not let me down!

Does anybody else have it yet? The whole 2-D to 3-D graphic thing has me very anxious to play!

Oh yeah, I got 2 Kalmah sets too since I needed one for my BBC 42 entries. The other Kalmah I purchased is for sale! My entries are going rather well I must say, I will have several different types of Rahi ready by the deadline hopefully. Looking to be a late entry for me as I still have much to do and now have this new game to play!

This is going to be another contest with a great number of entries I can allready see. I was caught a bit off guard for this one as I did not expect another contest to be announced so soon after the end of the previous one. This is great though!

The theme has me a bit worried, I do not consider myself a good MoCist when it comes to small, cute rahi so this will be a great test for me. I plan on making the semi-finals at the very least though so I have started working on my entry as I am typing this. This is one of those contests that ANY of us could win, not just the more experienced or popular builders so I am hopeful that I will not be seeing any complaints about biased votes.

I look forward to seeing the many entries to come and the voting! Could this contest surpass the last one in number of entries?
  16. CzaR
Toys R Us has a great sale going, you can read more about it here. Anyway I got 3 newer sets with some great MoCing pieces, get down to your local TRU and get in on this deal!

    A nice Lime colored set
    Large Black Wingies!
    And more Magnets

The AR set is a TRU only special I think, love those magnets. Expect to see new MoCs with these parts soon!

Well to be honest I never thought I would make the finals, a big thank you from me to all of you who helped me get there! All of the entries in the final poll are excellent, I wish everyone luck. This has been a great contest turnout which makes it that much more fun, there were so many great entries that got lost in the swarm of prelimnary polls though. Still I think this was the best BBC yet and I look forward to the next one.

Well I regret to inform you all that I will not be attending Brickfest this year, even though it is only about 100 miles away from here. Work and family are my first priority so I will have to watch from the sidelines, I had a good supply of Bionicle stuff to showcase too. I expect full reports from the bloggies here like KIE, Omi, Roa and Makaru, pictures also . Shame on me for forgetting KIE too . Have a great time you guys!

One of these years I will find my way to the grand spectacle that is Brickfest, hopefully before I am an old man at 30 years of age!

With the voting process underway, I would like to state a few things:

First off, a big thank you to Tufi, Kex and Shannara for being great contest assistants. Secondly, I am seeing alot of people labeling some entries as "too big and complicated" to be considered a set. This kind of bothers me, I loved the older Rahi sets, I think we all did. They were big and complex so just because Bionicle has not had a large set since the Bahrag does not mean there cannot be any more. Another thing that bothers me is that if lego were to release another large and complex set, I am betting the majority of people would want it and welcome it.

What about the playsets too? They can get big and complicated, granted they mostly use system but still they are expensive. The theme asked for nothing larger than a titan, so far all the entries in question I have seen are just as large as Brutaka or Roodaka. I saw nothing in the rules regarding complexity of the build, only size. I think everybody who entered this contest did so with the theme in mind.

Lastly, I would like to point those reading this blog entry to Semi-Final Poll B where you can find my entry. If you deem it worthy I ask for your votes!

Picked up Sonic and the Secret Rings on Monday for the Wii. It is unlike any other game I have played before. It plays similar to Sonic Battle/Heroes but the controls are really something. At times I feel like I am steering a speeding comet with the wiimote. Attacking enemies can become quite the work out, as you have to first jump and then jab forward with the wiimote. Very fast paced action and interactive controls kept my hands sweating the whole time I played it. Making timed jumps across large gaps at breakneck speeds had me on the edge of my seat.

At first I thought the story was a bit corny and predictable, but then it had a big plot twist early on that was surprising. Sonic happens to come across a magic lamp and rubs it by accident, releasing the genie Shara, who needs his help to restore the stories of the Arabian nights from an evil genie. The graphics are pretty good, and get real fancy when Sonic is blazing at full speed. Sound is your typical Sonic Battle lyrical tracks, catchy and quirky tunes are sticking in my head now! The voice acting is decent, but still the storyline itself makes it a bit corny. There are a ton of party/mini games in multiplayer mode, they are one of the best parts of the game, addicting and purely fun. The adventure mode is mostly missions on different areas of the Arabian world

I would recommend it for the die hard Sonic fans, or people looking for something new and challenging. Not for anybody else though as it may prove too much for your average gamer. Ill leave you with a couple of screen shots so you have a better idea of the game.

I have seen alot of comments on the Toa Mahri and the new Titan sets, but very little on the playsets. So far I think they are looking to be great. The large set looks to have alot of great parts for new MoCs and I really like those black tentacles and seawhips. The Kanohi-ish piece on the front has me thinking on a way to use it.(another giant maybe?)

This set looks to have some great parts also, namely the black wingies on the hull and those sloped system pieces are nice also. The minifigs are looking good, they sure have come a long way since the Hordika minifigs.

This one looks to be one of the smaller ones but still has some good stuff. The black seawhips and that, blue egg thingy, I must have them! These are the sets that I am the most anxious to obtain, lets see some comments on them!

First of all, I need to thank Kohaku for being able to have a blog in the first place. For those who are unaware, he was voted 2nd place in the Lego General Discussion #5 contest. Being a lifetime member he decided to draw a few names from a hat and give his prize, which was a one year premier membership, to the name that came out. I was lucky enough to be that name and again I thank you for your generous gift.

Once I have figured out all the inner workings I plan to have a plethora of images and other things to spice the blog up. Expect to see most of my entries dedicated to my MoCing works and video gaming discussion. Ill fit in the rest of my life(the boring stuff) somewhere in between.
