Been very busy, the store is getting very busy this time of year, everyone wants lego! I have had a staggering amount of orders the last few days. Things are going well for the most part, working alot, making good money. Which in turn translates to new stuff to keep me from going insane, such as Wii points cards for nostalgic gameplay, new music, lego parts for my works, clothes and the like.

Then there is my relationship, or lack there of. Which seems to have come to a total halt. I am tired of heartache, I try to put on a good show but it continues to tear at my very core. Forgive me for venting, pathetic as it is I take some comfort in putting it out here, among the BZPeoples, my peoples.

Look for new MoCs soon, I have found that when I find myself in strife, I tend to become more active with building stuff. Funny huh?

I just won an auction featuring all these items!

Cant wait for all this stuff to come in! A lot of large figure stuff, like knights kingdom and technic vader parts, plus all those translucent beauties! What a steal on these!

So now that most of us have seen and experienced the summer sets of the year, which do you think are the best overall of 2008? We were graced with new vehicles, old heroes and new villians this year. I think this was the best year for Bionicle since 04, when the Toa Metru ruled. So here is my list for top 6 best sets of the year.

    6. Makuta Icarax The return of the makuta and a sweet set all in all. Plus a neat function.
    5. Axalara T9 Huge and lots of neat functions. This set will keep you busy for quite awhile, the new kanohi is sweet too.
    4. Jetrax T6 Another big set with lots of great parts and playability. Toa Antroz!
    3. Matoran Photok Orange mata feet and new kanohi, nuff said. Also very affordable.
    2. Toa Ignika The skyboard has a ton of useful parts and the set itself is a blast.
    1. Rockoh T3 The part selection is just amazing in this set, great parts in new colors and the set itself is IMO the best of all the vehicles and a bit more affordable.

    Now lets see yours!

Now that all of the sets and playsets are available, which do you think are the top 3 sets of the year and why? My list is as follows.

    Best set of the year:
Nocturn, why you ask? Well first of all look at the price and pieces you get for it. Glowing armor and head, leg pistons, neo ball joints, titan hipsockets, lime green spikes and limbs, ice blue flex spines, who could ask for more at 15 dollars? The set itself can be fun also, extra arms and squids!

    2nd Place:
Toa Terrain Crawler This set is a bit expensive but you are getting alot of quality parts. Several glowing pieces, Toa and Barraki minifigs, Zamors, Squids and my personal favorite part, the white Takadox head. If you can afford it you wil not be let down.

    3rd Place:
Takadox Maybe I am a bit biased here but I cannot get enough of the glowing blue and ice blue pieces here. Plus you get the newer slizer foot, (black triangle part) which opened up all kinds of new ideas for MoCing. The set itself is one of the better Barraki sets I would say, Pridak or Ehlek come close but I think Takadox is the best one.

    Now lets see yours!

So I went to TRU today, in hopes of finding some Mistika. Of course, there were none, however, for 10 bucks, this set is a must have. It has some of the best part and color selection in any ten dollar set I have ever had. Most notably the 2 Y shaped plus rods you get in the set.

TarthurT has caught my eye with some of his works before, but his latest from his Transformer folder is truly stunning. Blik as it is called appears to fully transform into a bike (with a a few extra parts as seen), and somehow retains a streamlined and visually pleasing appearance, both in color and shape.

I got a call from my family on the other side of the state yesterday, seems my grandmother has suffered some sort of medical problem and is in the ICU. I knew this was coming but was not ready for it this soon. Things have really been going badly for me in my personal life lately, I turned down my new job and quit my other one as my mother needs me to help her now. I will be leaving home for, well, Im not even sure yet. My computer access will be very limited over there, so this might be farewell for a long time fellow BZPers. I leave Sunday morning on a plane, leaving most everything behind, even my daughter and wife and it leaves an empty feeling in my heart.

Yet, such is life and we must make big choices then live with them. I will try to return and post every now and again, but do not expect any new MoCs from me any time soon, a shame as BBC 45 has just started. Take care everybody.

Now that the map has been released, what are your thoughts on it? I always thought Metru Nui and Voya Nui were closer together, also I think the Visorak got kind of shafted on their little island there. Hopefully there will be a more detailed map released soon, maybe with elevation levels and exact locations of landmarks. Geography is fascinating, I really do hope that lego will put alot more into this map.

I am getting old people! My plans include going to work for 9 hours, getting home and opening presents, if I have any!

My 18th was so much more fun...

    Update, birthday goods:

First of all, some lego sets!

And some white chocolate/cadbury eggs, which is my biggest weakness!

Lastly, a limited edition Ratchet and Clank PSP with RUSH game!

    Read here

Wow, apparently we are not that far away from having a device that can allow us to actually see others thoughts and dreams! “Imagine a general brain-reading device that could reconstruct a picture of a person’s visual experience at any moment in time, and perhaps even provide access to the visual content of phenomena such as dreams and imagery."

Think about the possibilities this new device could open up. Being able to create an acutual image of someone elses thoughts, kind of scary really, one day we might not have any kind of privacy at all! Telepathic machinery, I just do not think the world is ready for such marvels yet. I for one have had some dreams that I never, ever want others to know about!

Well day one is over allready. What a day! I was one of the first to arrive, helped with setup, then it was onto my own MoC setups. Met up with Arkov, who is an awesome dude, with awesome MoCs. Here are some notable pics from day 1. The day concluded with the meet and greet, where trophies were unveiled! Sadly, xccj and kraalix were no where to be found today, so I could not see the best bionicle trophy.

Stay tuned for more, opening ceremony is tomorrow, so is alot more info on upcoming lego 2010 stuff and the late night lego store dash!
  12. CzaR
I was so wore out last night after the late night lego store dash, I was unable to blog. So tonight I have to blog for 2 days worth! First, da pics.

This was one of my favorites, those are REAL bees flying around in there!

Tomorrow is the final day, allready. I am sad but at the same time anxious to see who will win best in show, and all the other awards. Also, I got a glimpse at the bionicle trophies and prototypes. One of them is a green gelu helmet, a trans black/brownish strakk head, and my personal favorite a trans clear bohrok headplate, with magnifying lens. Much like the one Bundalings won for BBCC 42, DO WANT IT BADLY! Id like to send a huge thank you to Letagi and his mother for transporting my family to the lego store, I am in your debt. Letagi also purchased the metal purple akaku, he now owns both of those precious flintsmith customs and a piece of BZP history! I was able to pick up some power function sets for a bargain price at the lego store, they will be put to good use as I was given a genius idea! The gang also reviewed Skopio, I was able to get in a few words as well. Everyone had a blast with Prometheus too, they put it to the test and it performed well. Looking forward to the final day, but also sad to see that the event has gone by so quickly. Look for more pics, updates, and other stuffs tomorrow!

Well, it is all over now sadly. But, I have pics!

This was the venue when I arrived, I was one of the first:

    Winner of best battle bug:

    Arpy and Xccj:

Dan Parker had these nifty lampshades:

This was a little game I made and offered prizes, I call it lego jenga, you try to stack them as high as you can, just something made with the brickgrab bag I got. The best part was that Todd Webb, who works for Lego, approached me and asked for a design, which I was more than happy to give him:

The mad dash at the Lego store:

More stuffs I made from the brickgrab:

    Thats all for now!

Some of the stuff I will have for sale, and the final version of the Maverick. I worked in the trans red dome and moved the IR receiever to the top, which increased range tenfold! Now I am rushing to pack!

Well, the final day was today. Somehow I managed to miss the award ceremony, which moved to day 3 this year! Total bummer. Brickcon hit records this year for both public and private hours! But anyway, good news is the final day proved to be productive, both on the display table, with the BZP crew, and at the vendors table! Major props to Kakaru aka Arkov, who donated his trophy with the precious trans clear bohrok protoype head to Kopakanui. My attempts to barter it from him failed, but I do not blame him one bit, as I would not want to part with it either! Oh, and I was deeply honored and humbled to take the best overall bionicle trophy home with me for Velonese. I will never forget this award and how special it is to me! Now onto the pics!

    Absolutely humbled and honored:

Lastly, I want to thank everyone, the attendess, the coordinators, the BZPeoples, this year was just plain amazing, I cannot wait for next year! Now I am off to begin putting that prototype strakk head to use!

Is it really almost over allready?

I have had a blast though, did a nifty set review with the BZPeoples last night, which was both informative and entertaining. Met lots of new people, shared ideas, made big bucks and picked up the massive Death Star set with the mother load of SW minifigs! I will have pictures posted either tonight or tomorrow afternoon. Sadly I missed the BZP group shot, as I was slaving away behind my vendor table. I was just about cleaned out yesterday so I made some stuffs from the brick grab which also ended up selling! I had this neat game I made called Lego Jenga, where you have to stack these little pointed cubes I made with brackets, boat studs and 1x2 domes. It was a big hit since I offered prizes, one person ended up winning a gold heist set. Then someone made me an offer on the game so I had to sell it. Arpy, Kopakanui, Roa and Alsru cleaned me out of all my titan sockets and ball joints so I guess I had better get to ordering more.

The most amusing part was when we rigged up Baranus to Roas RC car, it was doing fishtails! Then we tried hooking it up to the maverick but it was a bit too fast for it. I also got to see Cajun and his work up close, which was all kinds of awesome.

All in all, I will be back next year, no doubt. I have had more fun here since I was in high school. It was very nice meeting you all, I look forward to seeing some familiar faces next year as well.

Well I regret to inform you all that I will not be attending Brickfest this year, even though it is only about 100 miles away from here. Work and family are my first priority so I will have to watch from the sidelines, I had a good supply of Bionicle stuff to showcase too. I expect full reports from the bloggies here like KIE, Omi, Roa and Makaru, pictures also . Shame on me for forgetting KIE too . Have a great time you guys!

One of these years I will find my way to the grand spectacle that is Brickfest, hopefully before I am an old man at 30 years of age!

Not sure if this is just regional or not, but participating Fred Meyer stores have all lego except Indiana Jones and Star Wars sets at buy one get one of equal or lesser value. This means Bionicle, Racers, Castle and the other themes Fred Meyer carries. Ill be getting in on it, I need some more of those Racers sets, new parts in purple and lime green! I used some of the new parts on This terrible MoC. Just messing around, they had a sort of vest looking effect.

I see someone else has beaten me to using the new purple parts, as seen Here. That is a pretty sweet looking MoC by gabriel, I was gonna use the same part in the same way on the torso, I guess he had the same idea and executed it well.

Well I see we have a debacle in the BBC 51 voting. Disqualified entries popping up everywhere. All I can say is the fun-factor of these contests is on the decline. I lost votes due to this garbage, some people I used to respect, I no longer do.

Sad times people, you know who you are and what you did. And sooner or later, so will everyone else.

So I decided to order the Castle Chess Set...

Yea I wanted the giant one released this year, but it is 200 bucks! This one looks just as good at only 1/4th the price. I do plan on getting the larger set someday though, it has very high collector value. Anyone out here play chess on a regular basis?

So who has decorated and who has not? We have still got to get our lights and tree up, it has been pouring rain here the last 2 days so I have been discouraged. We usually leave our tree and lights until the new year, just to enjoy them for that much longer. We got a real tree this year which is no doubt going to be messy, the aroma is well worth it though. I love the smell of pine in the house, it always means Christmas is near.

What is your favorite type of decoration? The missletoe? The lights? The wreath? I have to say the tree is my favorite, it indulges more of the senses than other decor.
