I got sunburned a few days ago. Now the itching has begun.

    SO. FREAKING. ITCHY.

I about want to chop off my arms at this point.

If you ever get synburn itch, take a cold shower. That's about the only thing keeping me from having a panic-induced heart heart attack,

So I've been getting into Ultimate Team lately, mainly due to Connected Career becoming impossible due to not being able to restructure contracts (seriously EA, what the heck were you thinking?).

Anyway, I just completed the NFC South Solo Challenge, and my reward was Ronnie Lott (96 overall) - in case you don't know, one of the toughest players in NFL history and one of the best to boot. I've been working on my offense more than anything but with Ronnie Lott at SS I shifted a rookie version of (the late) Pat Tillman (79 overall) to FS, with a decent cornerback tandem of Leon Hall (89 overall) and Stanford Rout (84 overall). My biggest hole is at linebacker - I don't have a single guy with a rating of over 66. On the offensive side I have Steve Young and Cam Newton at QB, DeAngelo Williams at RB, and Jason Witten at TE - aside from that, it's a pretty meh group. Right now I'm at an 80 overall If anyone wants to play against my team just shoot me a message.

I had a fun little mini-adventure for a 3DS today, and I've got to say I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

So, to begin I decided to go to Best Buy to get a red, regular 3DS. They have them going for $154.99 online (a significant discount from the $169.99 MSRP), but the model is discontinued so there just aren't too many out there. By the time I got there, they had already sold it.

At this point, I'm pretty bummed. I don't have enough to get the full-price ones. We spent a tittle longer out and finally get to Sam's Club. After enjoying a delicious pretzel with Cherry Coke, I decided to see their price for the heck of it. Turns out they have a ton of purple 3DSes going for $139.99 each. After confirming with a cashier that they are indeed that low (she was more shocked they had 23 of them in stock), I bought it and a full 1-year warranty that covers basically everything but intentionally destroying it, bringing the total to just under $160. So yeah, I get a new 3DS and full warranty for well under the MSRP.

Oh, and we got Mexican Coke too. What better way is there to celebrate a great deal that imbibing in sugary soda?

I'm considering making a comics version of Surivor set with BZPower members. Yes, I know the idea is not original but nobody has done it in a long while and I think it would be fun to do. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in being a player on it (I'd be looking for around 14-18 members to participate, split into either two or three tribes depending on size), and what gameplay elements people would be interested in seeing from such a series.

EDIT: I will send a PM to all interested users with requested information. Expect a request for a spritesheet as well as some character information to help create more compelling storylines, challenge results, and alliances. I'll need a decent number of interested players first, so I don't have to resort to filler characters or use my own.

I've been enjoying my 3DS very much for the past few days, aside from one issue... Freezing. For some reason, Animal Crossing: New Leaf has frozen at least four times now. I have a physical copy, and am using the SD card that came with the system; when the game freezes, it returns me to the home screen. Most recently, the game froze while I was on the island (and after having earned well over 70,000 bells).
Any advice, guys? I don't want to lose my town data, and I have no clue if this is a hardware issue with the 3DS or an issue with the game cartridge or SD card.

“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction.”

I want to officially apologize for my actions last night. Regardless of my political views, I did not realize how upsetting my actions would be and I did not represent the community or 'Outstanding' citizens very well. I would not have done what I did had I realized how upset people would become, and I did not intend to divide or insult anybody. If I had a time machine I would certainly change my actions, but the damage is done. I will try not to do such actions in the future.

So, the area of North Carolina I live in has become victim to a massive flash flood over the past 12 hours or so. The flooding is covering bridges and roads, causing pretty big sink holes to form over said roads and bridges, and all sorts of other nasty stuff. This is just another part of a really bizarre summer we've been having around here - the weather has basically alternated between hot, drought-type weather (90+ degrees) and very rainy weather.

Thankfully there are no reported fatalities or injuries yet, but emergency services are urging everyone to stay indoors (except for one residential area near a dam, which is being urged to evacuate). Hopefully people follow that advice.

Stop slandering everyone with autism, something you clearly know nothing about. If you had even the slightest grasp of what autism is you would realize that most people with autism aren't mentally capable enough to speak, let alone shoot people. And if you had the slightest grasp is Asperger Syndrome, you would realize we aren't "missing something in the brain", we aren't depressed, and we do have empathy, perhaps even more than you do; rather, many of us find it hard to recognize nonverbal speech.

If you'd perform your 'journalistic duty' and study your topics before running your mouth, you'd stop slandering millions of people. Instead, I urge you to retract your false claims and clear up the misinformation that you irresponsibly spread.

Just recently my parents noted I still had Bionicle sets in my room. A relatively small place, I barely have any room to have more than 6 or 7 out at a time, but that has gotten my thinking about Bionicle as a whole. What is it about Bionicle that has kept me a fan for over 11 years, much longer than any toyline?

I remember my first set well - Toa Tahu, given to me in 2001 by my best friend. From there, something about Bionicle grabbed me - perhaps it was the sense of adventure, materialized in the Mata Nui Adventure Game, perhaps the greatest marketing game for a toy ever. The concept was so mysterious, so adventurous - six heroes, vastly different beings with amazing power and no memory of their past, come together and go on a quest to find powerful masks to face the pure evil of Makuta. Looking back, the brilliance of this is that the masks were barely used at all in the battle - the adventures the Toa went through to find them granted them wisdom and knowledge, better tools than any mask. And by working together, they defeated the evil of Makuta.

By 2002 I had all the Toa (Tahu, Onua, Pohatu, Kopaka, Gali, and Lewa), Turaga Matau, and a Nui-Rama. In a twist that the fantastic, amazing ending of the Adventure Game hinted, a different evil was to come. The Bohrok, threatened to destroy the world I had explored in the Adventure Game. This magical land was threatened with pure destruction and, through the brilliant animations and comics, the Toa ultimately won again. And I remained a fan, buying four of the Bohrok as well as Exo-Toa and Boxor. The Toa Nuva were just as good, and were just as mysterious - I bought four of them as well. As the story progressed, the island threatened destruction again - not from the Bohrok, this time, but from the Toa themselves. As their unity fell, so did their guard, and they barely prevented the Bohrok from reawakening. Later, the Rahkshi (of which I owned all six), Makuta, and Takanuva sets followed what could have been the penultimate storyline - the novice Toa, avenging the death of his friend Jaller, defeats Makuta, who seemingly dies. The movie offered a fitting end, a hope of a brighter world without the evil of Makuta.

But it didn't end there - the fantasy elements became overpowered by sci-fi. Metru-Nui offered a fascinating change from Mata Nui, which was primitive in comparison. And the evil was just as present - a monstrous plant aiming to destroy the city and a faceless evil behind it. Vakama, Nokama, Whenua, Nuju, Matau, and Onewa became great characters, quickly establishing a solid story and overcoming adversity to defeat the plant and, ultimately, Makuta. 2005 was somewhat a letdown in comparison but offered excellent lessons on morality and leadership. From there, the adventure and mystery continued to Voya Nui, Mahri Nui, Karda Nui, and Bara Magna - all offering excellent comics and amazing novels from Greg Farshtey. And I managed to stay interested all these years. Why?

Well, Bionicle is more than a toy - it is my childhood. It represented a consistent interest - I had fascinations in space, astronauts, and weather, which all faded away. Yet Bionicle never did. It offered something few toy lines could - a story, a meaning. A purpose behind the toy. The story managed to offer twists and turns, and are still incredibly enjoyable in hindsight. Greg Farshtey managed to turn basic action figures into epic characters, with realistic actions, thoughts, and motives. LEGO managed to put out action figures that offered a satisfying build and a great amount of play. And the movies, games, and promotions managed to keep the interest alive with interactive features and rewards. All these melded into a single, cohesive entity that provided the perfect avenue for creativity. I can certainly say that I would not be nearly as active online without Bionicle, as I joined this forum because of it. I would not be into writing without the amazing stories Mr. Farshtey wrote for years - consistently entertaining and filled with heart and emotion. I would rush out to buy the latest book, knowing it would be fantastic and anticipating the twists he added. Truly an amazing feat for a toy line about biomechanical beings. Without his writing, I doubt I would have gotten into writing in any form - such an impact is the mark of a good writer, when they can show others the fun of writing and do it in a way that is fun, exciting, and wholesome.

Eleven years after 2001, I'm not ashamed to say I remain a fan and that I always will be. It isn't embarrassing to have toys out, because the meaning behind them is so rooted in what the series has given me and how it has affected me. It is important for us,as fans, to realize the future of Bionicle lies with us - it may come back, it may not. But even if it doesn't, we can keep it alive, for ourselves and future generations. Bionicle transcends just being a toyline - it reaches into the desire for adventure, for a story of good and evil, for a tale of action and, yes, even learning. Bionicle succeeds at all of these levels, and such a success is something we need to share with the world, not hide.

People are making a big deal over Katy Perry getting close to breaking Michael Jackson's record of five number-one singles on a single album, but it isn't going to happen. Even with the .69 cent discount and the BoB remix, she isn't close to LMFAO or Rihanna in digital sales, and that isn't even counting the rise of Adele's new single. My guess is LMFAO stays on top for another week before being supplanted by Adele - all the while, Perry gets stuck at No. 2 or No. 3, behind Adele and Rihanna's singles. It's not going to happen, people - MJ's record is safe - for the time being. Adele might get three more for all I know, she just doesn't stop selling albums/singles/whatever she releases.

Anyone have an idea what people who hate MLP or Broniacs (credit to Zarayna for that term) should call ourselves? The other side has the advantage of unity, signified by their pony avs. What can we do to identify ourselves, fellow broniac haters (if you are out there)?

So yeah, Commissioner Goodell wants to expand the playoffs. Not a good idea; aside from weakening the playoffs substantially, the math just doesn't work.

With 14 teams (7 from each conference), there would have to be only one team with a bye because:
*With 2 byes, you get five teams in the first round
*With 3 byes, you get five teams in the second round

With 16 teams (8 from each conference), there would have to be four teams with byes because:
*With 1 bye, you would have seven teams in the first round
*With 2 byes, you would have five teams in the second round
*With three byes, you would have five teams in the first round

As you can see, expanding the playoffs would mean reducing or increasing the number of byes (which isn't a good idea IMO) to prevent unbalanced playoff rounds. If the NFL used a three-division format (a possibility if expansion teams are added), the format might work better but would increase the number of wild card teams as a side-effect. My opinion? Keep things as-is.

I was initially skeptical about the 3DS but Paper Mario 3DS, Animal Crossing 3DS and a sequel to Luigi's Mansion are more than enough to warrant buying one, methinks.

There's no reason this will actually happen and I really don't like HF, but I'll give what I think would make a HF movie worth watching:

Actual risk - That is, there needs to be something at stake. Maybe the villain could take over a planet or hold it hostage. Perhaps the villains want something to create an evil weapon. Just have something interesting at stake.

Interesting villains - And no, having a traitor is not interesting in and of itself. What I'm wanting is an interesting villain. Perhaps it could be an space terrorist who thinks the Hero Factory is an oppressive force on the populace of the universe, and thus his actions are for what he thinks is the noble cause of freedom. Maybe the villain wants to take over the Hero Factory and reprogram the Heroes to carry out his (evil) will. Additionally, he should be willing to kill to get his goal - not anything graphic, but a truly evil villain is much better than one who doesn't really do anything evil.

Interesting heroes - There are supposedly hundreds of thousands of heroes. Why do they all have to be stereotypical characters? Give the heroes an actual, solid personality and have interesting, not cliched or stereotypical, traits.

Large-scale conflict - The Hero Factory is supposedly able to deal with threats around the universe, so why limited to one planet or one-on-one combat? Have space warfare. Have a conflict between hundreds of heroes and hundreds of villains.

No stupid one liners - Have intelligent pop culture references, not bad one-liners. There are plenty of movies, television shows, and comics to tease, parody, or make fun of, and dumb one-liners really add nothing to a movie.

So I got my SAT scores today; I got an 1895 out of 2400, or around the 87% percentile nationwide. I did best on writing and reading where I rank in the mid eighties and 90th percentile, while I did just above average on math. Overall a good result.

I figure I'll jump on the bandwagon here and announce my Christmas day loot. Ho ho ho!

I got what I wanted this year - an Xbox 360 and Madden 13. I've had just a plain old Xbox since 2004 and have lived off of Madden 07 for the Gamecube and ESPN NFL 2k5 on the Xbox since then, in part due to my disdain for how EA has handled Madden post-exclusivity deal. I'm a capitalist so I respect their right to buy those exclusive rights, but I used my right to not buy their games because they started to suck after Madden 2005 (which was fantastic). However, due to their concerted effort to improve Madden this year and the warmer reception from the sim gamer community in regards to the physics engine, I decided to cave and buy it. Boy, is it fun and worth buying - I'm in a Connected Career as Ron Rivera (despite the array of legendary coaches like John Madden) and have led the Panthers to a 6-4 record thus far. Oddly enough, the league has had two ties this year (although in real life I think they will be more common due to the new overtime rules).

I also got a nice new guitar strap for my new 5-string bass guitar, and it is pretty awesome. Additionally, I got a good wall mount so I can have my two guitars both out at once instead of having one in a case at all times. Finally, I got a new Christmas ornament (a guitar ornament), a Best Buy coupon, 2013 season pass to Carowinds, and candy. Outside the family I got a small gumball machine, a Tim Tebow book, and more candy.

I purchased Xbox Live as a gift for myself, and I also plan on buying a pedal for my iRig Amplitube app so I can use some of the effects (like grunge distortion) in live performances. Whenever I can get my membership to work (stupid Microsoft server) I'd be more than happy to accept challenges from sim or non-cheeser gamers - my gamertag is ToaNidhiki05.

Overall, I enjoyed this Christmas. Merry Christmas to all of you and a Happy New Year as well!
