    I'm reading The Odyssey for English class, and man oh man I will never disrespect Hermes ever again. Those Disney guys had some serious guts making him a tiny blue guy with little round sunglasses in the (grossly inaccurate in just about every way) Disney movie Hercules. The wrath of the giant-killer Hermes shall be upon them, if it is not already.
     
    That's right. At least half the times they mention Hermes, they add the title "giant-killer". "Hermes, the giant-killer" - "The giant-killer Hermes" - they never tell you exactly what giants he killed, so I must assume that it was, eventually, all of them.
     
    Yeah, you heard me. You have Hermes, Greek god of messengers, to thank for the current giant-less state of the world. Whenever you go around the corner to drop off a letter in the mailbox, it's Hermes that made it possible for you to not be stepped on and/or eaten by a giant on the way.
     
    You just don't want to befriend with this guy.

    Also, got a new computer for high school. This one doesn't suck, which means now I don't have any excuse now to not watch Tengen Toppa Whatsisface.

    EDIT: After watching episode 8 again, more specifically Kamina's last moments, I'm feeling better.
     
    Also, I wish Adiane had just hurried up and killed Nia instead of taking her sweet time about it. :angry: Nia must DIE.
     
    EDIT2: After 14 episodes, Nia isn't as bad anymore. Luckily, they made her less of a central character. She CANNOT replace Kamina. EVAR.

    I finally watched Serenity, the film sequel to the best TV series that ever ran for a single season, Firefly. After watching the entire series on DVD twice, once on my own and once with my dad, I couldn't put it off any longer.
     
    And it was so awesome, and so sad when some of the characters died, and I'm so happy that I watched it and loved it but now I'm all depressed that there's no more Firefly... *cries*
     
    If you haven't seen Firefly, go get the DVD from Netflix or something. Your life has no meaning until you have watched it.
     
     
    And in other news, City of Fear is sitting comfortably in second place in RPG Contest #10, which means on Monday (if not complications arise) I'll be able to open up my first RPG.

    Well, summer's over, and that sucks. Started high school, and it basically felt like middle school in a new building - just more school. I've got some good teachers, but I don't have class with most of my friends. Which does kinda suck, though I'll probably make new friends and all that. And I'll see them at lunch and everything. Still blah.
     
    The only non-blah part of my day was Art. Even though I don't know most of the kids in my class (and some of them I really don't want to), I like my teacher and I love the subject.

    Yesterday it snowed. Thus, I expected snow to be there when I got up this morning.
     
    But it had apparently undergone metamorphosis during the night, and become slush. I like snow. I don't like slush. And unfortunately, half of my path on the way to school was covered in an ocean of slush. My shoes got all soaked.
     
    Now, I asked myself, as I trudged through this vast plane of sogginess, what does this "slush" want? Perfectly good snow doesn't just go bad for no reason. Was it acting on its own, or had it been bought by the Mafia? Was it, perhaps, a conspiracy?
     
    But then it rained, and all the slush got washed away. The mystery remains unsolved.

    Spidah-man!

    So I just found out that a new Spider-Man Saturday-morning cartoon had started airing in March, called The Spectacular Spider-Man. I've been watching it online. It's actually really good so far. Makes me realize how the movies could have been even better if they had been able to keep more of Spidey's battle banter.
     
    Also, the show has come up with an actual legitimate reason for the existence of supervillains, one that not only makes logical sense (if you ignore the fake science behind it), but is actually very devious. And no I won't tell you what it is. Watch the show. 'Tis pretty neat.

    I saw 21 last night. A friend of mine had a birthday and invited me and some people I don't really know. So... it was a good movie, a little predictable sometimes. There was a good song ("Time to Pretend" by MGMT) that I now have on my iPod. So that was good.

    So yeah, now I'm watching it using good ol' #######. I've seen the first four episodes so far. It's great. Kamina is awesome, even when he's confusing me with his "believe in me who believes in you" speeches.

    Some of the worst voice acting and dialogue I've EVER heard.*
     
    But often it was unintentionally hilarious.
     
    ANAKIN (serious): "I don't want to talk about my past."
     
    AHSOKA (light-hearted): "Well, what do you want to talk about? The sand? *gestures at desert*
     
    ANAKIN (super-serious): "The desert is merciless. It can take everything away from you."
     
    Why so serious, Anakin?
     
    *: Except the droids and clone troopers, which were hilarious and awesome respectively. Oddly, it was only the main characters that were horrible.

    I won't spoil anything, but I just got the last Bionicle comic of 2008 minutes ago, and let me tell you, even without the deeper and more expanded writing in the books - the ending is awesome. Not exactly unpredictable, but it's still awe-inspiring to actually see it for myself.
     
    Oh yeah, and the Destral Cycle looks cool.

    I won't be here on Wednesday, or most of Thursday. I've got a school trip to Washington D.C.
     
    The unfortunate bit is that I'll miss out on the second and third days of the new RPG contest period.
     
    The fortunate bit is that I won't have to deal with Sets for two days!

    Yup. Saw it. Can't resist a Pixar film.
     
    And it was really good. Cute little story, amazing art and characters, fluid animation. Best Pixar movie since The Incrdibles, IMO.
     
    I love EVE so much. She and WALL-E are so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute together.
