  1. @Vanson: There's no alternating turn system at the moment, because it would take too long to wait for everyone, so you can just post whenever, as long as you're not double posting.

I sabotage Fishers' weapon.  (Two can play that game.  :P )  Then I attack Portalfig.

-BRINGERS OF DESTINY, LIGHT, AND VARIOUS FOODSTUFFS-

Portalfig (Major Maes Hughes), Toa of Earth [Vortixx Poisoned]: 14 Life, 2 Attack

Toa Chuck, Toa of Fire: 20 Life, 2 Attack

    -The Fancy Alliance-

Krelsin, Vortixx: 16 Life, 4 Attack

Toa Vanson, Toa of Stone: 20 Life, 2 Attack

    Nui Jaga (Scorpio-5000): 3 Life, 2 Attack

    fishers64, Vortixx Mastermind: 36 Life, 4 Attack

Nikan (keiththelegokid), Krahka: 20 Life, 2 Attack

  2. The Tahtorak is alive; it was Chuck's Rahi that got killed.

So here's my dilemma.  If I support the Foodstuffs alliance, they will continue to be too strong, and just nova me out of existence.  But, if I attack the Foodstuffs, Fishers might become too strong.

Keep in mind, I can decrease attack, so you Toa need me if Fishers starts to deal some serious damage.

So first off, I'll need to create The Fancy Alliance, and I extend an invite to Vanson and Nikan.  Whoever joins first gets in.  Second, I'm just going to support whoever I think is weaker at the moment.

    - - - - - - -

So I will again, masterfully improve my weapon and attack Portalfig.

-BRINGERS OF DESTINY, LIGHT, AND VARIOUS FOODSTUFFS-

Portalfig (Major Maes Hughes), Toa of Earth [Vortixx Poisoned]: 23 Life, 2 Attack
Toa Chuck, Toa of Fire: 20 Life, 2 Attack

    -The Fancy Alliance-
Krelsin, Vortixx: 16 Life, 5 Attack

    fishers64, Vortixx Mastermind: 36 Life, 5 Attack
Nikan (keiththelegokid), Krahka: 20 Life, 2 Attack
    Tahtorak, 3 life, 2 attack
Toa Vanson, Toa of Stone: 20 Life, 2 Attack
  3.

Do I have to use my Frantic Attack ability to attack someone? I thought I did...But you all seem to be attacking without using your abilities???

I use Vortixx Poison on Portalfig. :P I then Sabotage the Tahtorak (sooorry).

-BRINGERS OF DESTINY, LIGHT, AND VARIOUS FOODSTUFFS-

Portalfig (Major Maes Hughes), Toa of Earth [Vortixx Poisoned]: 30 Life, 2 Attack
Toa Chuck, Toa of Fire: 16 Life, 2 Attack
Fredrick the Flying MakutaFish: 3 life, 1 Attack

    fishers64, Vortixx Mastermind: 36 Life, 5 Attack
Nikan (keiththelegokid), Krahka: 20 Life, 2 Attack
    Tahtorak, 3 life, 1 attack
Toa Vanson, Toa of Stone: 20 Life, 2 Attack
Krelsin, Vortixx: 18 Life, 3 Attack

You're allowed to use one ability and your basic attack each turn.  Frantic attack is an ability, not your normal attack   :P  I'll just take back your second ability for you.  I don't think it's worthless like Major says, cause it effectively allows you to dish out 10 damage a turn.  That's why Mastermind is such a threat.  At the same time, you become a huge target.

I improve my own weapon again.  I then swiftly finish off poor Fredrick.

-BRINGERS OF DESTINY, LIGHT, AND VARIOUS FOODSTUFFS-

Portalfig (Major Maes Hughes), Toa of Earth [Vortixx Poisoned]: 30 Life, 2 Attack
Toa Chuck, Toa of Fire: 16 Life, 2 Attack
Fredrick the Flying MakutaFish: 0 life, 1 Attack

    fishers64, Vortixx Mastermind: 36 Life, 5 Attack
Nikan (keiththelegokid), Krahka: 20 Life, 2 Attack
    Tahtorak, 3 life, 2 attack
Toa Vanson, Toa of Stone: 20 Life, 2 Attack
Krelsin, Vortixx: 18 Life, 4 Attack
  4. Fishers, although we can't officially ally, I think we can agree that those two are going to be a threat pretty quickly.  I'll help you out...for now.

I blunt Fredrick's teeth to make him less of a threat.  I then violently punch Chuck.

    -Unnamed alliance-

Portalfig (Major Maes Hughes), Toa of Earth: 30 Life, 2 Attack

Toa Chuck, Toa of Fire: 12 Life, 2 Attack

Fredrick the Flying MakutaFish: 3 life, 1 Attack

    fishers64, Vortixx Mastermind: 36 Life, 5 Attack

Nikan (keiththelegokid), Krahka: 20 Life, 2 Attack

    Tahtorak, 3 life, 2 attack

Toa Vanson, Toa of Stone: 20 Life, 2 Attack

Krelsin, Vortixx: 20 Life, 3 Attack

  5. I'm down for this.

    Your username: Toa Vanson

    Species: Toa of Stone

Abilities: [Mask of Summoning]: Summon a Rahi with 2 Attack and 3 Life.  It may attack in the turn you summon it.  This Rahi lives until it is killed.  Add it to the list of players (and give it a cool name).  You may only have one Rahi at a time.

[stone Smash]: Deal 1 damage to target player.  That player may not be healed for the next 5 posts.

[stone Nova (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Deal 5 damage to every player.  No player may be healed for the next 10 posts.

    Starting attack: 2

    Starting health: 20

Question, though: If my starting attack is 2 but my attack only does 1 damage, does that mean that the 2 damage is the standard attack and the Stone Smash is a special attack?

    Hey Vanson, thanks for joining!

Abilities are separate from the standard attack.  So you can do your standard 2 damage attack and Stone Smash in one turn.

Since it's been quite a bit of time, we have to start with the people we currently have.  I'll join to fill up the playerbase more.

Good luck everyone, the starting alliance size is 2.

Krelsin, Vortixx: 20 Life, 2 Attack

    • [build]: Give +1 to target player’s attack points.
    • [sabotage]: -1 to target player’s attack points.
    • [Regular]: No effect.  You’re pretty normal.
    • [biomechanical Conversion (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Change a player’s element (only on Skakdi or Toa).  That player’s elemental abilities change to their new element.

    - - - - - - -

I build, adding 1 to my attack.  I then attack fishers for 3 damage.

Portalfig (Major Maes Hughes), Toa of Earth: 30 Life, 2 Attack

Toa Chuck, Toa of Fire: 20 Life, 2 Attack

    fishers64, Vortixx Mastermind: 47 Life, 5 Attack

Nikan (keiththelegokid), Krahka: 20 Life, 2 Attack

Toa Vanson, Toa of Stone: 20 Life, 2 Attack

Krelsin, Vortixx: 20 Life, 3 Attack

  6. @Prowl: Hey, sorry, but this game has specific species and abilities to choose from.  It's so the game is more strategical and objective.  The list is in the  Species and Abilities section in the first post.

    @keith: Sure, thanks for joining!

  7. @Major: Yeah, you're right, we'll see.

@fishers: That's true.  Hopefully there's still appeal in other species.

I've made some changes to assist balance a bit, before more people join.  Feel free to update your character if you'd prefer something different, or let me know if any changes I've made are unfair.

  8. Alright, I'm going to try.

    Name: fishers64

    Species: Vortixx

[Frantic Attack]: Deal 5 damage to target player.  You lose 5 life.

[sabotage]: -1 to target player’s attack points.

[Mastermind]: You start the game with +30 life and +3 attack, but you can never join an alliance.  You win by being the last player alive.

[Vortixx Poison (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Choose a player.  Whenever that player uses an ability, they lose 2 life.

    Starting Health: 30

    Starting Attack: 3

    Let's see how this goes.

    Hey fishers, thanks for joining!

I reworded the guide to make it clearer, I meant starting with 30 extra life and 3 extra attack.

The reason the Vortixx Mastermind is so strong is that they have to win on their own, and it makes them quite a huge target early game.  If you guys think I've overcompensated the Mastermind, let me know.

Edit: I'll also make it that only one Mastermind is allowed per game; I think that will solve some potential problems.

  9. Sounds good, though maybe raise the health to 3, as stone smash seems to be the only attack to actually do one damage.

You're completely right, thanks for the suggestion!  I changed it to 3 health.

Edit: Fixed your character to Toa of Fire.

  10. Hey guys, thanks for joining!

Toa Chuck: I just thought about it a bit more, and spawning a Rahi every post does seem a little overpowered.  I might change it to a 2 Attack 2 Life Rahi, except you can only have one at a time.  You can change your character if you want, now that I've changed the mask.

  11. The game has started, but players may still join!

    Current players and alliances:

BRINGERS OF DESTINY, LIGHT, AND VARIOUS FOODSTUFFS

Portalfig (Major Maes Hughes), Toa of Earth: 30 Life, 2 Attack

    • [Mask of Healing]: Target player other than you heals 4 life.
    • [Resilience of Earth]: You begin the game with 10 extra life.
    • [Earth Nova (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Deal 5 damage to every non-Earth player.

Toa Chuck, Toa of Fire: 20 Life, 2 Attack

    • [Mask of Summoning]: Summon a Rahi with 2 Attack and 3 Life.  It may attack in the turn you summon it.  This Rahi lives until it is killed.  Add it to the list of players (and give it a cool name).  You may only have one Rahi at a time.
    • [Fire Blast]: Deal 3 damage to target player.
    • [Fire Nova (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Deal 10 damage to every player.

    The Fancy Alliance

Krelsin, Vortixx: 20 Life, 2 Attack

    • [build]: Give +1 to target player’s attack points.
    • [sabotage]: -1 to target player’s attack points.
    • [Regular]: No effect.  You’re pretty normal.
    • [biomechanical Conversion (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Change a player’s element (only on Skakdi or Toa).  That player’s elemental abilities change to their new element.

Toa Vanson, Toa of Stone: 20 Life, 2 Attack

    • [Mask of Summoning]: Summon a Rahi with 2 Attack and 3 Life.  It may attack in the turn you summon it.  This Rahi lives until it is killed.  Add it to the list of players (and give it a cool name).  You may only have one Rahi at a time.
    • [stone Smash]: Deal 1 damage to target player.  That player may not be healed for the next 5 posts.
    • [stone Nova (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Deal 5 damage to every player.  No player may be healed for the next 10 posts.

    No alliance

    fishers64, Vortixx Mastermind: 50 Life, 5 Attack

    • [Frantic Attack]: Deal 5 damage to target player.  You lose 5 life.
    • [sabotage]: -1 to target player’s attack points.
    • [Mastermind]: You start the game with 30 extra life and 3 extra attack, but you can never join an alliance.  You win by being the last player alive.  There can only be one Mastermind in a game.
    • [Vortixx Poison (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Choose a player.  Whenever that player uses an ability, they lose 2 life.

Nikan (keiththelegokid), Krahka: 20 Life, 2 Attack

    •  [shapeshift (ultimate)]: You gain target player’s abilities and get their current attack, except their ultimate.  You are considered whatever element and species your target was.  You lose abilities you gained from a previous shapeshift.

    Conquer the Matoran Universe

The Matoran Universe has fallen into chaos.  Its inhabitants are now scattered and separate.  If they cannot unite, the Mata Nui robot will soon break down and everyone will be doomed.

Your mission: Create an alliance, and eliminate your competition.  Or just be the last one standing.

    How to win:

You win the game if your alliance controls the majority (more than 50% of players alive).

    or

You win the game if you are the last player alive.

Note: You may use your basic attack on one player and use one ability per post.  Also, no double posting.

    Step 1: Join the conflict

Choose a species and select your abilities (see Species and Abilities for what to pick).

    Your username:

    Species:

    Abilities:

    Starting attack:

    Starting health:

    Examples:

    Krelsin

    Toa of Fire

[Mask of Healing]: Target player other than you heals 4 life..

[Fire Blast]: Deal 3 damage to target player.

[Fire Nova (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Deal 10 damage to every player.

    Attack: 2

    Health: 20

    Krelsin

    Vortixx

[Frantic Repair]: Target player gains 5 life.  You lose 5 life.

[Frantic Attack]: Deal 5 damage to target player.  You lose 5 life.

[Mastermind]: You start the game with +30 life and +3 attack, but you can never join an alliance.  You win by being the last player alive.

    Attack: 5

    Health: 50

    Step 2: Form alliances

If you wish to join with another player(s), one player must form an alliance so that others may join.  This player is the leader, and can invite players to the alliance, and remove them.

You may leave an alliance and join an alliance (if invited) at any time.

The current alliance size is 2.

Step 3: Make friends, betray friends, or kill enemies

You win the game if your alliance controls the majority (more than 50% of players alive).

But Krelsin, if there’s a maximum alliance size, then how can an alliance be more than 50% of players!?

You can go ahead and kill your competition, and make yourself more than 50%.  But can you trust your own alliance?

    Species and abilities

Every player starts with 20 Life and 2 Attack (unless a certain ability below changes that)

    Toa:

Pick one mask.  Pick one element (you gain those abilities):

    Masks:

[Mask of Shielding]: Prevent the next damage you are targeted by (does not stop things that affect every player).

[Mask of Summoning]: Summon a Rahi with 2 Attack and 3 Life.  It may attack in the turn you summon it.  This Rahi lives until it is killed.  Add it to the list of players (and give it a cool name).  You may only have one Rahi at a time.

[Mask of Healing]: Target player other than you heals 4 life.

[Mask of Disruption]: Target player cannot use any ability on their next post.

[Mask of Time (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once per game.  Reverse the effects of the last post.

    Elements:

    Fire:

[Fire Blast]: Deal 3 damage to target player.

[Fire Nova (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Deal 10 damage to every player.

    Stone:

[stone Smash]: Deal 1 damage to target player.  That player may not be healed for the next 5 posts.

[stone Nova (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Deal 5 damage to every player.  No player may be healed for the next 10 posts.

    Water:

[Water Healing]: Target player heals 3 life.

[Water Nova (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Each player heals 10 life.

    Earth:

[Resilience of Earth]: You begin the game with 10 extra life.

[Earth Nova (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Deal 5 damage to every non-Earth player.

    Skakdi:

Pick one element.  Skakdi may only use their elemental abilities if they are in an alliance with another Skakdi.

    Elements:

    Ice:

[Freeze in Place]: The next damage target player takes is doubled (from a single ability or attack).

    Fire:

[Fire Blast]: Deal 4 damage to target player.

    Earth:

[Earth Stomp]: Each player loses 2 life.  You gain 4 life.

Choose either Heat Vision or a Mask:

[Heat Vision]: Divide 3 damage among up to 2 target players.

Any mask available to Toa except Mask of Time (see above).

    Choose one ultimate:

[skakdi Brotherhood (ultimate)]: Lose X life.  Divide X points of healing between as many target Skakdi as you wish.

[Aggressive Rampage (ultimate)]: Lose X life.  Divide X damage between as many target players as you wish.

    Vortixx

    Pick two abilities:

[build]: Give +1 to target player’s attack points.

[sabotage]: -1 to target player’s attack points.

[Frantic Repair]: Target player gains 5 life.  You lose 5 life.

[Frantic Attack]: Deal 5 damage to target player.  You lose 5 life.

[betray]: Deal 5 damage to every member of your alliance.  You lose 5 life.

    Pick one passive:

[Regular]: No effect.  You’re pretty normal.

[Neutral]: You cannot join an alliance.  You win if you survive until the end of the game.  You start the game with 10 extra life.

[Mastermind]: You start the game with 30 extra life and 3 extra attack, but you can never join an alliance.  You win by being the last player alive.  There can only be one Mastermind in a game.

    Pick one ultimate:

[Alliance Hate (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Deal 5 damage to every member of a target alliance.

[Alliance Unity (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game. Heal 5 life to every member of a target alliance.

[biomechanical Conversion (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Change a player’s element (only on Skakdi or Toa).  That player’s elemental abilities change to their new element.

[Vortixx Poison (ultimate)]: You may only use this ability once in a game.  Choose a player.  Whenever that player uses an ability, they lose 2 life.

    Krahka:

[shapeshift (ultimate)]: You gain target player’s abilities and get their current attack, except their ultimate.  You are considered whatever element and species your target was.  You lose abilities you gained from a previous shapeshift.

    How to post

We will have a list of players, with their health and their species (and major effects like Vortixx Poison).  Just say what you're doing at the beginning of the post and make changes on the list.  Bolding your changes also makes it easier to understand.

    Examples:

If I had Vortixx Poison on me and I had a Mask of Healing.

I use Mask of Healing on Player B to heal him 4 life.  I take 2 damage from Vortixx poison.  I attack for 2 damage to Player C.

Krelsin [Toa of Fire][Vortixx Poison]; Life: 18

Player B [ice Skakdi]; Life: 24

    Player C [Vortixx]; Life: 18

Player D [Fire Skakdi]; Life: 20

    Player E [Krahka]; Life: 20

This game is open to a lot of feedback.  Let me know during the game if anything is too overpowered or underpowered, or if rules need to be changed or added.

Recent changes: Skakdi, Mask of Healing, Earth Stomp, Freeze in Place, changed Mask of Speed to Shielding.

  12. ...let me forward you the PM. NOT DO ANYTHING AGAINST THE RULES NO SIREE.

    :w:

Are you not listening at all?

Copy paste here. In this topic. Not forward. Not PM.

It's not against the rules because we don't know for certain that it was actually sent to you, and that you're not just faking it.

  13. I am writing up the scene right now, but I figure I have a few things to tend to.

@Krelsin: There are only three Traitors left. I had five when there were spots for 25 people, but when I shortened it to 19 I got rid of one. Figured it would be too OP that way.

@Lloyd: NO YOU MAY NOT BECAUSE I CAN TOTALLY READ YOUR PMS AND STOP YOU FROM EVER REVEALING ANYTHING EVER PRIVATELY

    EVER D=<

@Zakar0%: I just realized. Negative actually died. Now your only afterlife buddy is the very person who killed you! >=D

Oh, my bad, I was just going by what the front post said, I forgot about Sauron.

Edit: Oh, it's because it doesn't say what role the lynched people are on the front page. It'll be nice if you did it, but you don't have to.

A: The Joker is a villager who is deliberately trying to get killed. Sometimes it's explicitly by lynching, sometimes it's by either lynching or night-time killing.

B: There's a slight problem with your idea. That would be this:

You are not allowed to reveal any roles. Revealing roles will result in you getting thrown into the lava.

So unless I get a special dispensation from the GM, I can't tell you.

    HOWEVER

If I do get a special dispensation, I'm perfectly willing to.

    :w:

No, no. Copypasting the PM isn't revealing the role, because you could be faking it, that's what I already said lol. Screenshotting the PM is cheating.

All you have to do is copypaste the PM, because we don't know if it's real for certain.

  14. Wow, this got...dramatic.

I still don't get the "covering for someone else" logic. Either way, one traitor looks suspicious and gets killed, that doesn't benefit the mafia at all. And the whole "it was inevitable I was going to be lynched" is a dodgy argument, the whole town is too divided on opinion to suddenly get the lynch done, you're pretty safe unless you admit it. I'm looking at you Negative. :P

Anyway, 12 players left, 4 traitors, 1 apparent neutral, 7 (or 8) townies. The whole game depends on if Lloyd is Joker or not.

Since the game is almost at a crucial point, Lloyd, could you explain to everyone how Joker works, just to confirm if it's the same as what I think it does, and so everyone else understands.

And you may as well copypaste the PM you got telling you your role. Of course you can't screenshot it, that would be cheating, so just copypaste. But I think it'll be interesting to see the message or to see you try and fake it. But honestly, I'm expecting a dodgy excuse. Regardless, good luck.

  15. Actually, you'd be surprised how many people who bandwagon aren't Mafians. It's rather frustrating, really.

EDIT: but the reason I'm voting is because Negative, so far as I can tell from the PM he sent me, confessed. I don't think he did it, I think he's covering for someone else--and the only person who would do that is a Mafian.

    :w:

...why on earth would someone confess? I don't even...

You should copy paste the PM here so people aren't baselessly voting.

  16. It wouldn't be unfair at all, IMO, unless the GM imbalanced them, and I think he's good enough to not make that mistake.

    :w:

Having roles that new players don't know exist, or how they work is unfair.

I probably don't even know how it works because it's probably different here. There's no way the host would do that.

  17. Lad, clearly you don't know me very well. I have been a Mafian exactly once in these games, and that was when I backstabbed them and handed their names to the Detective.

    :w:

No, no, it's got nothing to do with you being mafia before, it's because there wouldn't be a joker role without being specified because of new players.

    Come on guys...

  18. Dead people cannot vote.

Well, I did say I'm warning you because I want the village to win. ;)

    :w:

I'm not believing that for one second. The whole point of the minimal roles was to have a simple setup; it would be unfair to the first time players if there was a joker not revealed how they work, so that doubly doesn't make sense.

If people fall for this I'm going to...

    ...

watch and not be able to do anything about it. :P

Edit: Hey Norik, here's the best argument.

  19. C'mon, you're a smart person. Try and figure out why I know there's a Joker role.

    :w:

Detective can't have told you, there's only been 2 nights, 1 of which you have been found innocent, the other which Gata was innocent'd.

Otherwise, host has told you, or, you're used to these games having a surprise joker role.

    Edit:

Or you were implying you were the joker, so people would think "oh he's joker, better not lynch him" when really you're actually mafia and there's no actual proof there's a joker role.

    Edit 2:

It was never actually specified in the first post if dead people couldn't vote...can they?

  20. @Constructman: A interesting thing. :)

(and my realization may not even have been accurate anyways but for now nobody vote Lloyd)

If you're hinting he's a power role, that would be foolish on his part, whether he be mafia or town.

Actually, I don't want to die, and the reason is as illogical as it is simple--I want to survive longer than usual. :P

Look at it this way--the Detective isn't dead yet, so clearly I'm not a Mafian. Why? Because I know who he is.

After all, I know that Gatanui (alias Squishy) is innocent. If he's still active around here he can confirm that for me. (Why do I not know who anyone else is? Because the Detective spent the first round investigating me, and that's how he knows I'm innocent.

That said, I can also confirm the presence of a Joker role in this game. So you're going to want to be careful about indiscriminate lynching, or else you might hand him the game. And I want the village to win.

EDIT: I'm also going to not vote until the last second--I don't want to vote for an innocent, but I especially don't want to lynch four people at once.

    :w:

I don't think there'd be a joker not being declared in the first post without the host actually specifying it; that'd be very unfair to the new players.

Also, how would you know there's a joker role?

Also, if you were really innocent, you probably wouldn't out that Gatanui was innocent, because Gata will now probably promptly die.

In fact, before they'd kill Gata, they'd kill you. So, everyone should vote Lloyd; if he's detective, he'll have to out himself, which helps the town, and if he's doctor, that was a terrible move drawing attention to himself, and I highly doubt he would do so as doctor.

If he's an innocent villager, it doesn't matter if he dies, because dying doesn't stop him talking, and confirms Gata's innocence, which means Gata should be healed until a more important clear comes along.

If he's mafia, yay, good job team.

  21. That's actually a tactic I use quite commonly when i get killed. It's probably the reason I'm alive--if I was killed, my innocence would be confirmed. :P

    :w:

Ah yeah. Let the claims begin!

And if you think about it, dead people are less like dead people are more like injured people. :P
