Ok, so...I have a Blog
As with every premier member
Which is everyone on BZP right now...
Pretty much testing this out right now
Seeing if I'd like having one, and as such would become a Premier member
So, yeah....
Comment and let me know if you'd read it if I became premier and kept this running!
As stated in a previous entry, I am a Movie Buff, and here is my take on some of the movies in the past year since then:
Alvin 2: Not much to say here, moving along...
Sherlock Holmes: Wow, just WOW. Inspired me to read all of the Holmes stories, it was THAT good.
9: Enlightening on the current disposition of mankind....We are so dead...
Ponyo: Miyazaki is da man, Anyone who has ever seen one of his movies knows what I mean. With only 10% of the movie being computer generated, this movie is still, easily the most beautiful I have ever seen
Ironman 2: All I have to say is it taste like Coconut, and coconut never tasted better.
Avatar: All hype and Glitz, story equates to Ferngully and Pocahontas sent through a Blue filter
Clash of the Titans: Pretty good, made me laugh, worth seeing once
Losers: Very good, Laughs a plenty, story wasn't original, but didn't degrade into flat out copying
Alice in Wonderland: Modern Twist on the Classic Tale, much better than the original that we all grew up with
How to Train your Dragon: VERY good, Extremely funny, good for the whole family
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief: Meh, It was visually capturing, but didn't stick to the book
Robin Hood: Not bad, Great story about the man before he was the Hood
Shrek 4: Better than 3, if that's saying anything
Karate Kid: Great story, not awesome in the Graphics department, but it's a Karate movie, not supposed to be
The A-Team: Now THIS was a good movie, story similar to Losers, but minor differences, Ending I wouldn't have sen coming EVER
Last Air Bender: Summers Crowning Jewel! Amazing visual effects, deep emotional undertows, and it's actually TRUE TO THE SERIES
Inception: Not the best, Decaprio doesn't disappoint, but it's one of those movies where the it wouldn't have gone anywhere without that big name actor(Snakes on a Plane, anyone?). Don't see if you can't grasp multiple situations occurring simultaneously
Movies I'm Watching for:
Sorcerer's Apprentice
The Expendables
Harry Potter 7 Pt1
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World
Piranha 3d
Alpha & Omega
Megamind
Tron: Legacy
Well, as is customary, on this glorious 9th Birthday, we all have Blogs.
So, as one might guess, this entry is simply for wishing BZP a happy Birthday.
Yeah, today was the second day of school
Forgot my schedule at home
Wandered the halls hopelessly...
Still made it to all my classes on time, but, still
Felt weird, seeing as I'm a Senior, and I STILL don't know where everything is in my school
Ok, so I have wanted to do this for the longest time, and I figure now that I have a blog, I might as well give it a shot
Unfortunately, I have no Cam, so no Pics
Set Review:
Thornatus V9:
Presentation:
From the design of the box to the instruction manual, these are the first things you see before building the set.
The box is about the size of the Jetrax's with a sweet pic of the Thornatus being piloted by Perditus, launching a Thornax at foes unseen on the front. In the background resides this years logo, the Skrall shield with Click in the center. On the flip side we see Perditus out of the cockpit standing on the side of the Thornatus with the usual pics of features the Thornatus sports, including the Thornax Launcher, Midak launchers, and the retractablility of the vehicles wheels. And at the very bottom we have pics of The Baranus and Skorpio sets along with the B.I.O. Code
On the inside we find four bags of parts, slopped in there along with the giant wheel the Thornatus sports. The Instruction Manuals, of which there are two, are oddly vertical this time around, unlike the Horizontal ones we have seen up til now. On interesting thing about them though is the sweet foreground the designers added to them
Building
Half the fun is had building the set. How fun is it to build and how easy or challenging is it?
This build relies heavily on the new base piece that we also see in the Kaxium, as such, there are FOUR of these pieces to hold this behemoth together. But more on the Vehicle later, for now I will speak of the Glatorian Pilot!
Perditus, Perditus, what can I say about thee? Well, how bout this? He's an Inika with the new head. I seriously could have done him blindfolded.
And now back to the main attraction! The Thornatus is both a simple and complex build. The side wheels that fold out where ingenious, as was the mechanism that allows for it, but the actual cockpit is reminiscent of the Jetrax's, this also goes for the slightly modified roll cage. But I must say that the designers used the large wheel beautifully, along with the armaments on the extendo-wheels.
Set-Design:
Now that the set is complete, we can critique how it looks from every angle. New or interesting pieces can also be examined here.
Ok, the Thornatus is mostly old designs put together in new ways. For instance, The Thornatus takes the usual piston build and throws in an extra piece to make it an awesome new control stick!
As for New Pieces, the Thornatus aint got much. we got the Thornax Launcher(included in every set), Silver Krika head, Tan Bitil wing, TWO health counters for the game, the giant Wheel, and a new armor piece!
The armor piece looks like the ones from the Axalara and Rockoh, but smaller and with more ports for the cylindrical connectors, and it's tan
One thing I found annoying, though, is how all the blue tube connectors stick out like sore thumbs! You seriously can't look at this thing without noticing them!
Playability
The other half of the fun is in playing with the set. How well does the set function and is it enjoyable to play with?
The Thornatus is amazingly fun to play with, and most any legit Glatorian will fit in it, Excluding Skrall, Kiina, and Malum, though I haven't tried them yet. It can zoom across most surfaces with only a light push and the pilot interface is sooooo fun to mess with!
Final Thoughts
Once it's all said and done, how does the set stack up? Should I get it?
Pros
What's to like?
* Nice build.
* Return of TAN!!!
* Fun to play with
* Interchangeable Pilot
* Old builds used differently
Cons
What's not to like?
* Few new pieces
* Blue connectors are VERY obvious
* No innovation on Perditus
As for buying it, it depends on if you got the money, cause it is a bit pricey at $60.00. I myself, loved the set, and had the money for it
Entertaining to say the least
So I wake up today with a puppy I'd never seen before licking my face
I find out that is my older brothers
My friends from school come with me to an Anime Picnic
We have fun there
I get a call from my Mom
Turns out my Bro and his PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND have been in a wreck
I get stuck at home while Mom rushes to Hospital
I also get stuck watching the puppy
My Puppy, not my brothers, tries to EAT my brothers puppy
So, she is now duck taped to the wall...
I, as an Individual, enjoy movies
As such I spent the weekend watching every movie in theaters
These included GI JOE, Harry 6, Ponyo, and District 9
Thoroughly enjoyed Ponyo, as Miyazaki never disappoints
GI joe was a little predictable
Harry Sucked compared to the book
And District 9 was disturbing
So.....If you ever want the truth about a movie, just ask!
On BZP, there lies another Ynot
