  1. This project is absolutely great guys! Will be downloading the game soon...

Btw, the banner says that there will be an Android version. When?

Not until the PC version is completed first. Stay tuned, and you can support us by putting our banner in your sig! (check the first post) :D

  2. Ah, k.  It was an fat chance anyways.  I guess I really don't wanna see this die, more than anything.  And yes, I know it's in pre-alpha, but I can still make suggestions as to what would make it more immersive and such.

It's support from guys like you who confirm that we're doing something right! The team is overcome with all the great feedback, and it's only PRE-ALPHA!

Keep on spreading the word (banners help!) and for those of you who made gameplay vids, WE LOVE EM! I'm doing a bit of promo work, but other than, we don't really have ppl to help inform ppl about this project. Except for you guys! So in a way, you can help us out even if you're not part of the core dev team.

Thanks again guys. Now I have a inventory system to design....

  3. Banners, people! With our pre-alpha launching tomorrow, this is a great time to show your support for the project and spread the word!

You can copy and paste this into your sig.

    More variations to come!

  4. Like Vorred mentioned, I played the staff pre-alpha yesterday and was blown away. It was the perfect combination of wonder and nostalgia presented in a new and fresh way. If this is any inclination of what the entire island will be like, it's going to be a must-play for any long-term Bionicle fans like ourselves.

  5. Hmm...where the sound effects always this low quality? haha, and there aren't that many here either. unless it's less than I remembered.

Is there any other sources where I can get a fuller catalogue? Or where I could download the game and take the sound effects from there?

  6. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I would've kept everything on the island of Mata Nui. Or at least keep the tribal environment. I know this is a horrible idea marketing-wise, but I just loved the idea of sci-fi robots in a tropical island/tribal setting. It seems oxymoronic, which was what made it so delightful. When we went to Metru Nui, yeah that was cool, but it was robots in a robot city environment. Wow. Haven't seen that before.

Like I said, this is probably a horrible idea because things need to be mixed up and made new to sell moar toys haha. But yeah that's what I would have changed/kept the same.

  7. The Last Airbender. The opening mimics the cartoon series' opening, yet instead of using the actual Chinese characters the show puts into the background they are replaced by random squiggles. This is the first of many, many things the movie inexplicably does wrong.

Ditto. Couldn't agree more. I seriously loathe that movie with a passion.

^Do you have some weird need to hate me? I don't see what I've ever done to you.

Don't take it personally. I think I've disagreed with Dovydas before, but it's all good debate over the internet, so yeah.

Sharkboy and LavagirlStar Wars: V and VI, even though I LOVE Star WarsShark TaleHigh School Musical 1, 2, 3Shrek 2

Noooo you just listed some of my favorite movies....ah memories. :P
  8. Just my thoughts-A. I would bet hundreds of dollars it will never happen. The fan base is too small, for one, and the characters look like robots. It seems lots of people think bionicles are robots, and it's confusing that they are merely biomechanical creatures. That might be a bit of a hurdle. Also, the toy line has been discontinued, but that isn't as big a concern seeing as this is assuming Bionicle did or was coming back.B. I would be very angry if there were live humans. Personally, I don't like that idea, because humans don't and won't and shouldn't have any part in the Bionicle saga.C. It would be amazing and awesome if it did come out.

After looking at this topic again after I posted, I'd have to agree with you on A and B, but not as much C. Sure, C is a possibility, depending on how they wrote it or whatever. The last movie they made wasn't that great, so the expectations for this movie probably wouldn't be as high if another one came out.
Small?! Fanbase?! What the karzahni are you talking about man!?
What the karzahni? seriously? :smeag: true bionicle fan right here, people.but really, the bionicle geekbase is shrinking even as we speak. at least, it's definitely not getting bigger.

I thought the same thing for a while. But then you have a movie like Battleship coming out. I don't know if there's even a fanbase for Battleship. Seriously, you could make anything into a movie.
  10. I think a "modernized" reboot of the series would be pretty good. If that ever did happen, It should be similar to "Ultimate Spider-Man" in the sense that anything can happen. For example Tahu could be reimagined as a young biker with great talent and an affinity for fire. As for how it should be done, I for one believe all the Toa, matoran, Makuta, etc. should be portrayed as human looking robots and the rahi, bohrok, should look like animals and robots respectively. That's just my two cents

I apologize if I offend you, but oh, God, no. Please. They'd totally butcher something like that.
I dunno, that actually sounds like a cool idea. A modern Bionicle? Lego's probably making it even as we speak. :P
  11. Transformers got three groups of post-produced clips (I hesitate to call them "movies") but they had humans. And I don't think they had much to do with Transformers. The aforementioned saturation of the Transformers franchise is also a factor. But Bionicle could work very well as a movie. Here, let me show you, courtesy of those handy media tags:EDIT: Or not. Okay, haven't been on a family-friendly website in years. Um, okay, how should I do this? Well, this image also gives you the idea:http://biosector01.c...hu_Mata_Set.PNGAwesome robot + lava + doing stuff = amazing movie. In other words, it would be an action movie, which isn't what Lego would want, but it's what we want, and frankly I think it could do well if marketed exactly right.

I love this image. I remember seeing it on the back of an old LEGO magazine (one with the Alpha team on the front page...the original Alpha team, haha). It completely sparked my imagination.I bought the set a little while later. It came with that awesome mini-CD (who remembers those??? :P) that had movies which you unlocked using the code in the back of the mask (that was cool too). And I remember thinking, "Wow, it would be awesome if this was a real movie."Then MoL came out. I enjoyed it, but thought it would've been a lot better if the style was more like the commercials instead of adding mouths and fingers, and changing the color schemes.
  12. Robots are a craze. Toy movies are a craze. Heck, they're making BATTLESHIP the movie, so why not Bionicle? A lot of people are saying, "Don't include humans," but I disagree. Would it ruin the continuity of Bionicle? Well, the Bionicle toy line is technically dead (sorry, truth hurts), so not much to continue. And I'm also guessing that a large portion of Bionicle fans that are not on this forums, such as younger kids 5 - 10 years old, wouldn't care less if there were humans are not (only us older fans get picky on such details :sigh: ). Right now, in my opinion it would make more sense for LEGO to develop a live-action Hero Factory movie. The story can definitely include humans as seen in the ads, and HF is a current LEGO brand (meaning its not dead).

  13. I LOVED Twilight Princess, and I really want Skyward Sword, but I doubt I'll have the money at launch.

Twilight Princess was the most incredible game I've ever played. Looking forward to Skyward Sword, supposedly even more incredible according to the Zelda creators (I watched the promo event video...had a hard time understanding the Japanese though :sigh: ).
