  1. The movie style is a little disappointing, but who cares, it's just one video.

More importantly, Bionicle is back, and it seems like the story is going to be pretty appealing to new and old fans alike. Different enough to make it interesting, but similar enough to what we'd been missing for (what seems like) so long.

  2. Before I start making assumptions and am reprimanded by those who like to do that sort of thing, I think I need to get some feedback from the BZP community. Are there any non-Minecraft fans who find this set in any way appealing?I get that this is a Minecraft set, and as someone who has never played Minecraft, and probably never will, I'm not exactly the target audience, but in my opinion, this set is garbage. It doesn't seem to incorporate any interesting building techniques, and there are no cool minifigs. I fail to see any redeeming qualities with this set.Like I said, I know I'm not the main demographic for this theme, but it really includes nothing of interest for me. And this isn't just about my bias against the line. I have zero interest in Harry Potter, never read the books, never saw the movies, but I can appreciate fantastic sets such as Diagon Alley and incredible minifigs like Bellatrix and Molly Weasley. I guess the point is, regardless of my biases about the source material, I can still appreciate a good Lego set, and I do not think this is not a good Lego set.So, is there anyone else who shares this view, or am I just being overly critical and obnoxious? Are there any non-Minecraft fans who like this set?100101001 BC 010010010

  3. Pictures of the new Ultrabuild sets from Brickset:Captain AmericaHulkIronman10010101 BC 01001011

These are Marvel superheroes, but this topic is for DC superheroes. So should they be discussed here, or in a separate topic? (I'm not complaining or anything. I'm just curious if this is the right topic to discuss them in.)Anyway, out of all the superhero sets I've seen (DC and Marvel), I think that the Iron Man set looks the best. It just looks really cool to me.
It's my topic, so I'll allow it. :P Yes, I'm definitely looking forward to the Iron Man set. The robotic style that these Ultrabuild sets are in really suit him well. I will rip that unsightly minigun off his shoulder as soon as I get him though...10010010 BC 01001001
  4. Wow! The orcs and Urk-hai look simply stunning. I think this means I will be getting multiples of Urk-hai Attack. The Ringwraith is just as I'm sure we all expected, nothing too extraordinary, but neither is the source material... Gollum looks a bit strange, but I can't really think of a better way to do him, so I won't be too critical.I'm just waiting for pics of Haldir, Eomer, and Theoden... I have a feeling those are gonna blow these latest guys out of the water! 10010101 BC 010010101

  5. The new sets seem to be trickling into the usual major retailers (Meijer, Walmart, Target, etc..)They are all available at TRU, but I strongly discourage anyone from buying there due to their egregious mark-ups. 10101001 BC 01001001

  6. Huw over at Brickset has posted this news article describing all the new Lord of the Rings sets.Even though photography was not allowed, he snapped this pic from above, which doesn't show very much, but may give you a sense of scale of these new sets. However, the good folk over at Lord of the Brick magnified that picture with these results. As you can see, it shows the sets in much more detail, which is the best legal look we've had at these sets yet. And I have some good news and some bad news. The Mines of Moria set does not include a Balrog, but the Shelob Attacks set does come with Gollum.1000100101 BC 0100100011

  7. I agree that the ARC and ARF Troopers are incredible figs, but I'm not sure if the two minifigures alone justify dropping $13 for this set. I have no love for the Commando Droids, and the cannon-walker thing is just silly. i already have a bunch of other sets I'm interested in, so I'm thinking I'll just have to skip this one for now. But, if by some act of God, I ever find that thing on sale, I"ll snatch it up in a heartbeat.1000010110 BC 01001001

  8. Well according to Brickset here's what we can expect in the upcoming line of Marvel Super Heroes:Ultra Build4529 Ironman 4530 Hulk4597 Captain America6865 Captain America's Avenging Cycle6866 Wolverine's Chopper Showdown6867 Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape6868 Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout6869 Quinjet Aerial Battle6873 Spider-man's Doc Oc AmbushWe've seen prototype pictures of the Hulk and Iron Man Ultrabuild sets, as well as the rest of the Marvel minifigures here. Also this advertisement supposedly from the new Lego Magazine pins the release date sometime in April. So this is what we actually know about the upcoming Super Heroes sets. I hope it was informative.100101010 BC 010001011

  9. Yeah, my main issue with the podracer is that the Technic pieces don't look right. The three-way pin piece juts out and the lift-arms (I think that's what they're called) don't look right with the holes and everything. Just read a review of the X-wing and Interceptor. Now I want them even more!1000001001 BC 0100101111

  10. ...I'm gonna try to pick them up during a sale or something. 1001010 BC 010010101

Hah, Lego Star Wars on sale. That'll be the day.In any case, the $13 for a Battle Pack was only at Toys R Us, right? It's new for it to be the official price.
It could happen... Eventually...The last two battle packs were $13, the two before that were $12, and before that, $10. Now they're $15 at TRU, but don't get me started about that.100100101 BC 01000101
  11. Battle packs are $13 like usual. Unless you're not from the US, and if you're not, then yeah, they're probably much more expensive...You can get the rest of the prices here. The sets are pretty expensive, but I guess we're kinda getting used to that. I'm gonna try to pick them up during a sale or something. 1001010 BC 010010101

  12. I haven't really gotten a good look at some of the newer sets, mostly just the mini plantets and the battle packs(the battle packs turned out great, I'm probably gonna buy the elite clone trooper & commando droid one, and the genosian one) but I guess I'll go and take a look at those now. OK, so I've taken a look at some of the newer sets now. I think the TIE fighter is really cool, probably the best TIE fighter variant that they have made so far. I see waht you mean, BC, about the X-Wing's engines and fuselage being messed up, they were built kinda wierd. The Anakin's Jedi Starfighter set was cool, the ship looked basically like a slightly improved version of the last Jedi starfighter we got, I didn't really understand the droids and Nute Gunray being there, but I'm assuming it has to do with an episode of the clone war that I havn't seen yet. the Gold leader's Y-wing starfighter set was cool, though I think I perfer some of the older models, as they look rougher. Liea appepared rather strange in that set, I didn't like how she looked, the older versions of her were better and more acurate. Some of the mini sets look cool, the STAP was nothing new, and the same for the Star Destroyer, but Anakin's podracer was interesting, it turned out well, and the tank was also pretty cool looking and well designed.

Actually, the droid and Nute Gunray are included so you can recreate the scene where Anakin goes all crazy-evil and kills all the Separatist leaders in Episode III. It also includes these lava-droid-thingies and Obi-Wan so you can do the entire Mustafar duel. The catalog doesn't show them for some reason, which would definitely have left me confused about their inclusion. The minis, or polybags were rather underwhelming, which is strange, seeing as I normally love the polybag sets. The STAP is really the only one that interested me actually, it's a well built set that comes with a figure. Yeah, it's not really new, but the only version I have is from 1999 so it's definitely a step up. The Star Destroyer is nothing exciting, and I didn't really like the podracer or weird blue tank. It must be something from Clone Wars because I don't recognize it from the films... I'm really looking forward to the summer 2012 SW sets though...1001010 BC 010001001
  13. The Padawan Menace was incredibly enjoyable, cute and funny for kids, full of funny references for the older viewers. I really should have picked it up for $13... Does anyone know if it's still available at Walmart?10010101 BC 01000101

  14. I thought the sets that included the planets (I'm assuming that's what you were referring to by 'galaxy sets') were kinda, hmmm, how shall I put this, I wasn't very interested in them. It was cool that they released the planets, but they weren't to scale (that would just be ridiculously huge) and they just didn't peak my interest. I thought were were kinda cool, but I kinda doubt I'll pick one up.

Yeah, I agree. I love minis and can always appreciate a good SW fig, but these seemed to expensive, and the minis just don't catch my attention. The new Y-Wing is downright awful, and makes me so much happier about my owning the '07 version. The new cockpit design is more movie accurate, but the fuselage and engines are just poorly designed. As for he remaining three, they are simply amazing. Aside from the inevitable pricing issues, they are amazing sets. I really want the TIE and the X-Wing to go with my Y-Wing and Vader's TIE. Hopefully I can find a good deal to help take the edge off those questionable prices...10010101 BC 010010101
