Here's this week's song, suggested by Ringo. It's Back in the USSR.
Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC
Didn't get to bed last night
Oh, the way the paper bag was on my knee
Man, I had a dreadful flight
I'm back in the USSR
You don't know how lucky you are, boy
Back in the USSR, yeah
Been away so long I hardly knew the place
Gee, it's good to be back home
Leave it till tomorrow to unpack my case
Honey disconnect the phone
I'm back in the USSR
You don't know how lucky you are, boy
Back in the US
Back in the US
Back in the USSR
Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out
They leave the west behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
They Georgia's always on my my my my my my my my my mind
Oh, come on
Hu Hey Hu, hey, ah, yeah
yeah, yeah, yeah
I'm back in the USSR
You don't know how lucky you are, boys
Back in the USSR
Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out
They leave the west behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
They Georgia's always on my my my my my my my my my mind
Oh, show me round your snow peaked
mountain way down south
Take me to you daddy's farm
Let me hear you balalaika's ringing out
Come and keep your comrade warm
I'm back in the USSR
Hey, You don't know how lucky you are, boy
Back in the USSR
Oh, let me tell you honey
Suggestions for next week's song can be sent to me via PM, or posted next thursday in the suggestions entry.
This week Blue Jay Way was voted for by two members, so it's this week's song.
There's a fog upon L.A.
And my friends have lost their way
We'll be over soon they said
Now they've lost themselves instead.
Please don't be long please don't you be very long
Please don't be long or I may be asleep
Well it only goes to show
And I told them where to go
Ask a policeman on the street
There's so many there to meet
Please don't be long please don't you be very long
Please don't be long or I may be asleep
Now it's past my bed I know
And I'd really like to go
Soon will be the break of day
Sitting here in Blue Jay Way
Please don't be long please don't you be very long
Please don't be long or I may be asleep.
Please don't be long please don't you be very long
Please don't be long
Please don't be long please don't you be very long
Please don't be long
Please don't be long please don't you be very long
Please don't be long
Don't be long - don't be long - don't be long
Don't be long - don't be long - don't be long.
On the roadtrip back from LA, we heard a lot of Beatles songs on the Radio. Some of them were...
-She Loves You
-All you need is love
-Something
-Octopus's Garden
-Your Mother should Know
-Maxwell's Silver Hammer
For Song of the Week this week, you guys pick your top 3 of these, because I want to choose a song I heard in the car, but need to let you BZeatles decide which one. (This choosing system isn't going to become regular, in case you were wondering.)
So today, I worked at a thing in the city, this christmas event for homeless children. I helped them decorate gingerbread men, took dishes, put out candy, set up tables and chairs.
All around me were little children and their families, none of whom had homes of their own. It really put into perspective just how lucky and privileged I and all the rest of those who have houses really are... I felt almost guilty about how I have it all, and they have nothing. So it was both rewarding and heartbreaking to be volunteering to help them.

I was really obsessed with the winter '09 sets, so I made this to look at them on, without having to open 14 different windows.
Myself and two other people each pitched in a dollar to buy a $3 giant thing of s'mores Pop Tarts at lunch today. The thing had in it 6 packets of two pastries.
The first guy who helped to buy the stuff actually owed me money, so I got half of his share.
The other one didn't show up to claim his lot at all.
So I was left with 5 packets of delicious Pop Tarts.
I sold four of them, first for a dollar a pack, then a dollar a pastry, then, in a climax of rip-off-ness, $2 for one Pop Tart. That's paying 2/3 of the original price for 1/12 of the original value. (What can I say... the customers were very hungry and desperate for Pop Tarts during class.)
Yeah, I made a massive profit (about $5), as well as got to eat many a delicious Pop Tart, out of a simply $1 contribution.
Gresh and Skrall. They're pretty cool. Went to TRU hoping to pick up a buncha Atlantis sets, but they had none. The only 2010 stuff I found happened to be Gresh and Skrall, so I bought them, and reviewed Skrall.
I have very little to say on that topic.
Other topics, yeah, I could prolly type thousands of words on. But it'd all be complaining and stuff. Nobody wants to hear that, and I don't wanna burden y'all with my IRL difficulties, considering I bet they aren't near as bad as a lot of other problems out there.
Today, all the art students in my grade got to go and see a presentation by ILM (Yeah, the special effects peeps) about how they do their stuff for movies. We got to see some awesome concept art for Pirates of the Carribean 3, Iron Man, and Transformers.
It was really cool, seeing how they had to digitally make every miniscule part of a Transformer, then put it together into a figure, only to have it explode in a scene. Plus, they showed us a lot of cool (and oftentimes nostalgic) clip shows of movies they did in the past, like Star Wars and E.T., as well as some more recent stuff.
