  1. L'nice! You should add some pieces from the Nuva Like Shoulder Pieces and Chest Armor on the Metru Build. Or,maybe you can use Metru Pieces on the Nuva build,of course you can use the Lihkan Hau.

Ugh, you just had to get me curious and to look up how to do that. But I gotta admit, the Nuva chest looks a whole lot better on a Metru body (thanks for the suggestion btw.)

Takanuva looks really cool that way! Only gripe is that I might have wanted a brighter gold though.

It might just be the lighting, but otherwise I'm not sure they have brighter gold that is both paint/ primer. It would look pretty cool though.

And here I was thinking that people would gripe because the gold was too bright.

  2. I was thinking to myself "What would Titan Takanuva look like if his armor was back to gold again?" So following Vaal's Forge and Foundry http://www.odysseyhouseonline.com/VMFF_Main_Gate.html (albeit, not as well as he would do it) and I got this (btw, all the photos resolutions are too large, so everything is going to be linked, sorry):

    Before (sorry for the lighting):

    and after:

And the pieces that I recolored:

Not impressive but I think that is more how Takanuva's armor is supposed to look like after he gets hit by the Klakk. (Sorry for the lack of dark gold like the older version.)

I then thought to myelf, "Why not redo some of the armor on my character Tahrann?"

So that's what I did (I know, he is pretty much just Tahu Nuva with a few different pieces):

But at looking at him, I said "Meh, Nuva forms are so late 90's."

So I bought a few pieces from Bricklink and recolored those (yes this is pretty much a recolor of Lhikan):

And the armor, sorry for the resolution:

Gotta admit, gold and red layering worked better than expected, though i thought a gold mask with a splash of red around the mouth would look a bit too... "intense".

So nothing too exciting, but if yall ever wondered what a bit of spraypaint could do for you, then you could take something old and make it awesome.

    Edit: Tahrann 2.1:

That's right, a Toa Nuva chest piece on Toa Metru body (thanks to this: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/229415)

The chest piece actually came out more red than intended. Mostly because after I had it perfect, my dad accidentally knocked it off of the work bench and took off a layer of the spraypaint, so... it's red.... But he looks every bit of the hero I intended him to be. A good question though, should I keep or do away with the sportscup codpiece?

P.S. Buy Rustoleum, much better than Krylon.

P.S.S. If yall are interested into a somewhat lore friendly backstory to my character, I'll type one out, but otherwise I'm too lazy.

  3.

IMO Putting the driver in the mouth is a whole lot more... "anime"-ish and, in my opinion, a whole lot more awesome.

That's why I said in the OP that ChiMechs are somewhat has that TTGL vibe in them.

Anyway, thanks guys, like alot! ^^

So then the ChiMechs need to do a manly gattai?

  4. Wow, these are impressive, from the building techniques to all the fine details; really great stuff. The first three look a bit too bulky IMO (not that the tank look isn't in this season) and I question somewhat why you decided to put the pilot seat in the Mech's mouth. The eagle is a favorite of mine too, it too looks a bit too bulky, but it somehow pulls it off better. The wings and missile launchers are the best on this one.

Good job, Mugbearer; little gripes aside, this is really amazing stuff.

IMO Putting the driver in the mouth is a whole lot more... "anime"-ish and, in my opinion, a whole lot more awesome. I think they are only bulky because they have so much detail put into them, which that is pretty sweet.

All in all, Eagle; 10/10 would buy.
