    Tada!

    So I figured I better say something to everybody here. If anybody checks out my blog. Or anything.
     
    So Japan was an amazing experience. Spent 10 days in a completely foreign enviornment as a complete minority with only the most basic languages and a family I'd never met before. Hung out with 54 other band members for multi-hour train rides, shrine and temple visits, concerts and festivals, and Tokyo Disneyland ride lines.
     
    I may update with specific details and highlights later, but for now I just wanted to say hi and that I had a blast, but I'm glad to be back.
     
    I will be asleep for the next few days.

    In One Week...

    Back in 2003, the Blaine High School Wind Ensemble did something special. They took a 10-day trip to Japan to take part in the Funabashi Music Festival, a giant festival near to Tokyo. They were the first band ever to be invited from the United States. It was an amazing adventure, and formed lasting friendships that have spanned across an ocean.
     
    Since that time, many Japanese high school concert bands (which prefer to tour in Canada) have taken time from their trip to duck down into little Whatcom County, Washington to play. The trip in 2003 established a connection.
     
    One week from today I will be on a plane ride with 53 of my peers, doing the same thing. And I couldn't be more pumped.

    So I'm just tryin' out this whole blogging dealio.
     
    I don't really know how this works, and I don't know how frequent I can be in my posting in me blog... But bear with me.
