Florence + The Machine Florence + The Machine is British a indie pop band fronted by Florence Welch (the Machine is a fancier word for the rest of the people who provide a backing for her vocals).Being a critics favorite, she was among the youngest performers at the Nobel Peace Prize award in 2010. Her debut album Lungs which came out in the summer of 2009 was a commercial success in the UK spawning hit singles like Dog Days Are Over (it was also covered in an episode of Glee) and has sold over 2 million copies, and nearly a million in the U.S. In light of Lungs being a success, winning plenty of awards, accompanied by Florence's powerful, clear-as-a-bell vocals, her sophomore album is expected to be one of 2011's most adventurous albums. Ceremonials, their sophomore effort due for release on October 31st, featuring the lead single Shake It Out, showcasing a more gospel, soul and pop sound. Shake It Out was met with critical acclaim and crowned Best New Track by Pitchfork Media.
