Can we canonize the Cleatus videos?

Serious question here. Can we get them at least partially canonized by Greg Farshtey?

 

The first episode is easy. Witch Doctor escaped in the Breakout, and we never really learn HOW he was recaptured, so the first video is clearly documenting this. I think it can easily be 100% canon.

 

The second video is more difficult, as we see the entirety of Black Phantom's role in Breakout, so as far as partial canonization goes, I'm afraid episode 2 is squarely non-canon.

 

Episode three is only partially canon. It documents a small battle of the Brain Attack, but some parts (such as Bill's on-the-spot upgrade) are creative license and thus non-canon.

 

I feel like these videos contribute a lot to the story of Hero Factory, something that is very much missing. I think that we should make the case to Farshtey to have the movies made canon, so the story and universe get the fleshing out they deserve.

Greg Farshtey can't canonize them because he's not on the Hero Factory story team. His role in themes like Hero Factory and Ninjago is a lot smaller than his role in BIONICLE, in part since the books and comics are not the core media for those more recent themes.

 

I honestly don't know who exactly is on the Hero Factory story team. I know Dave Carr, a copywriter at Advance, had a big role in early story development, but he's no longer involved with the theme. Christian Faber also obviously had a lot of involvement. Karsten Juel Bunch, the creative lead for LEGO City, might be on the story team as well, since last I heard he was the creative lead for the constraction category as a whole. And maybe Christoffer Raundahl? I'm not sure what his involvement with the Hero Factory theme is these days, but he has experience as a member of the BIONICLE story team, since he was BIONICLE's lead set designer, and he played a formative role in Hero Factory's character and creature building system.

Well, that makes this considerably more difficult, as they all seem notably more difficult to contact. Someone will have to establish contact with them if this goal is to become reality.

Either that, or you can try to canonize them in a different sense and see if Pope Francis likes the idea of a Saint Cleatus. :P
