Let The Commissons Begin!

So I'm actually doing what I've been toying with doing, and that's taking commissions for various Metals projects. The money will go to fund various things in real life (yes, Akaku, that includes Reach), so here's how it goes.

Embargos

There are a few things I will flat-out refuse to do. Avoid at all costs:

  • any rubbery pieces (i.e. Inika masks, Skakdi heads, etc)
  • Launchers/Launcher ammo
  • Ehlek claw (tried already. Epic fail)
Now that the list of doomed items is done … on with the rest!

Kanohi/Other Set Pieces

I only do these in bronze; please specify if you want yellow, ancient, or white bronze in your piece. If I don’t have a certain piece in my possession (mostly referring to masks), you’ll need it sent to me on the condition that you won’t be getting the plastic version back.

Price Range: $10-17

Weapons

Put in their own separate section since they take more time (bendy silver pieces don’t burn out very well), I can do these in bronze and possibly glass. (Please specify what coloration you would like for either: yellow, white, and ancient for bronze, and the variations for glass.) Again, if I don’t have the piece, you’ll have to mail it to me, but chances are you’ll get that one back.

Price Range: $20-25

Rings

I only do these in white bronze, since it’s too expensive for me and Mark to make silver ones. I have a set selection of things you can stick on top; the list will expand as I make more molds for them. I’ll need a ring size for this, so PM with your size when you send in the info; if you don’t know, I’ll tell you how to find out.

Decorative Pieces: Nuparu Inika claw, Gahlok shield, Kohrak-Kal shield, Tahnok shield

Price Range: $25-35

Miscellaneous

Give me ideas, and I can probably try and make them reality; I’m already at work on molds for glass Nuva Symbols. This area can extend beyond Bionicle, but try to make them realistic.

Price Range: ? (it all depends on the piece)

Process

I will only take three commissions in a certain period, since I have other personal projects I’m working on at the same time. The sign-up works on the basis of ‘First come, first served’ – no reserving spots for yourself; if you didn’t make it on, wait until the next commission session. Post in this entry if you're signing up.

If you make it on the list, PM what you want done, along with the details. I’ll keep you in the know as I work on it, and once I think it’s ready, I’ll send a picture or two of it. If you agree, we’ll settle the price, and then we can send them along. I’ll cover the shipping; my mom’s Paypal will be the method of payment.

Thanks. =)

As I stated in another entry, I am interested in a bronze noble Matatu. I believe I have a spare noble Matatu, but if not (I am not losing my lime one. :P) I'll order one off of Site with forums removed. -B6, and have it shipped to you. You might actually want to look into buying Kanohi/pieces off there if you get a lot of commissions, incidentally.

EDIT: Incidentally, what's the difference between yellow, white, and ancient?

Yeah, I really a that clueless. :P

I'm interested, though lacking money at the moment so ya, probably won't make it on here before everyone reserves spots.

Still interested in that keraltz ring, though now I need to figure out just what type of quartz I want.

Added to the list. I might take that suggestion, actually.

And incidentally, the only difference between the three bronzes is color. :P

I'd like a price estimate; how much would you say a ring -not sure the sizes used for it, so I'll just use centimeters- for a finger about seventeen CM wide? It wouldn't be anything fancy; just a simple... ring. Circle. It'd contain equal proportions of iron and quartz.

If you need more information -you probably do-, just say.

Um, that's what i was asking. Sorry, but i have no idea what they look like. :P

That's okay; I'll probably add this info to the main post. Basically, white bronze looks like silver, yellow bronze looks like gold, and ancient bronze looks like a darker shade of gold.

That all depends if I can find someone that can melt iron and quartz together. If Mark can't do it, though, the price would probably ratchet way up, since I'd probably have to pay for someone else to do it. ._.

Ahh, in that case, white bronze, definitely.

I don't -think- that it'd be all that difficult; from my understanding you raise the heat to about 1700 C, toss the rocks in, let it simmer, stir, and bam, you've got some molten keraltz.

Of course I've never tried it outside of fiction so I'm not sure. :P

Alright then. Let me know when you have a Noble Matatu ready to ship (I lack one to use), and I'll PM my shipping info.

Yeah, that's problem -- I'm not sure if its possible outside the Outbreak universe. :P

Well, you could always get a small, not-costly amount of quartz and iron and try a test. I'd do so myself but I don't have access to things that can melt iron.
