Jean Valjean Posted November 4, 2012 My goal it to be at 8,000 words by the end of the day, which I'm pretty sure I can do. At that pace, I'll be at 2,000 words per day and have 60,000 words by the end of the month. But as for you, I wish you the best of luck. Maybe you're just off to a slow start, but I think that once you get going, you'll really fly. Just wait for when you reach that pat of the story that pulls you in as an author. 24601 Quote Link to comment
dotcom Posted November 4, 2012 I have only like a thousand words down. And now I'm sick, so my brain doesn't even want to work on writing anymore. But yeah, good luck! Hopefully we will all get through the slow parts. Quote Link to comment
Legolover-361 Posted November 4, 2012 My main problem is passing the expository stage; I have to introduce my story in a coherent fashion that doesn't leave readers crying either "Slow down, I have no idea what's going on!" or "Let's get to the actual plot already!" I know NaNoWriMo encourages you to just write, but I can be a perfectionist in matters of writing. Quote Link to comment
dotcom Posted November 5, 2012 I hear you. Writing a story can be simple enough if your concept is good, but setting it up is a completely different monster. And yeah, I really struggle with writing all stream of consciousness-like. I can't "turn off my inner editor" like the NaNoWriMo people advise me to. That guy is too busy writing the blasted story.
