Things To Come I

Name: Naara

Species: Ga-Toa

Gender: Female

Alignment:

Appearance: Naara is average in height for a toa, but far more muscled than usual. She is still considered fairly attractive to most, however, wearing navy blue armor with ocean blue highlights. Over her armor, she wears takea-hide fingerless gloves and bracers on her forearms, as well as a headband, shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads, mocassins, and leg bracers of the same stuff. As well, Naara wears a t-shirt made of quilted cotton and short shorts made of the same stuff. She wears a Great Iden, two hazel eyes looking out at the world from its eyeholes. Finally, the Ga-Toa wears a leather belt on which hang her two small maces, and which also holds a giant tank of water on her back.

Powers/Abilities: Naara has never been able to control her Kanohi, and thus never triggers it.

However, because of this, Naara has trained to become a master of both her element and her body. Hypothesizing that she could learn how to fight from the movements of the versatile water, she trained for years solely in building up both her body and mind by carrying around water and practicing moving it around. When she was done, she had achieved a level of communion with her element far beyond the norm: Whilst most toa move their element as though it is an extension of their weapons or limbs easily and find it considerably more difficult to move their element without moving, Naara works with water as though it is a different weapon or limb entirely. Besides allowing her to move it easily, the higher level of connection with her element gave the toa higher efficiency in using it, and many more ways in which to use the water around her.

After this period of training during which she had built up both her mental and physical stamina, Naara trained for years once more, but now to move like the element with which she shared so much in conjunction with her toa tools. Coming back to her original hypothesis, she trained in a multitude of different ways, using her new muscle and building other to strike, block, parry, and dodge often at once, with all parts of her body moving with both water's fluidity. Because of this, Naara's every move is fluid if not necessarily graceful, as well as unpredictable, versatile, and quite powerful. She has excellent strength, speed, agility, stamina, and endurance.

Equipment/Armor: (2) Small maces-Naara wields two small and short maces, their entire length only being slightly more than twice the width of her hand. Their striking surfaces are spiked all over, allowing for blocking, piercing, and smashing.

(1) Giant tank of water-Weighing in at 20+ liters, Naara always carries around her tank of water on her back (save in fights, wherein she occasionally drops it if she requires the added strength). This is not just used as a steady source of water when traveling in Po-wahi, though-carrying it around keeps her fit even when she is not fighting, and is a large supply of her element to use in fights not near a ready water source. As well, it lets her always be in touch with her element, something which is basically a part of her now.

(1) Set of takea-hide padding, gloves, and moccasins-Naara wears this not just for the intimidation factor, but also for added protection, traction, and a tearing grip.

(1) Set of quilted cotton tee & shorts-Although they look like practically nothing, the Ga-Toa has found this set of clothing particularly useful and conveniently nonrestrictive when in fights. After her soaking of them in salt water which she did by accident once whilst training, she found that they absorbed blows far better than before, even going as far to protect against most of the primitive long-range weapons found on Mata Nui. Darts, spears, and even arrows find it hard to penetrate the quilted protection, especially when its defensive power is compounded by that of her muscle and protodermic armor.

Naara also owns another set of all her equipment and armor which she has stashed away within her home.

Fighting Style: The Ga-Toa fights as though she is water itself with all of its unpredictability, and often is it difficult to distinguish the liquid moving by Naara from her during a fight-in fact, some would say that they feel she moves more like her element than it does. Her style also focuses quite a bit on controlling the center of the body to dominate the fight, as well as attacking foes' legs as they are difficult to guard and can topple them, from whence she can take easy advantage of her dominant position.

She fights holding her maces in both hands and has mastered both the reverse and normal grips, and will use either or both depending on whom she is fighting. Punches while using said maces, as well as kicks (including the pendulum and roundhouse kicks), elbow jabs, forearm clubbing, shouldering, kicks with the shin, and kneeing are all part of her repertoire, not to mention grappling and parrying/blocking while attacking. Therefore, the toa has a wide range of tactics and different ways to select and use against foes in a fight, and can improvise if forced on the defensive easily. All in all, her attacks being both powerful and unpredictable, as well as the ability to block and parry while going onto the offense, combined with her element and dual maces, make Naara one formidable foe.

Weakness: Naara is weak to electric attacks especially. They can travel through her water and also can short-circuit her limbs, which as a primarily physical attacker, does not help her to fight. She also can't control her mask, and if forced to, will most likely be stuck outside her body for an extended period of time trying desparately to figure out how to get back in.

Bio:

Other: Naara is excellent at improvising and thinking of multiple ways to solve a problem, mainly due to her communion with her element and training in her style of martial art.

Theme Music:

Name: Hukki

Gender: Male

Species: Mutant member of Ehlek's species

Appearance: Hukki looks like this, although he wears a face-covering mask shaped like an Elda and is without a squid launcher and the talons. Strangely enough, he also has four clawed fingers, but no apparent thumbs until combat (see equipment). Finally, he also has a kusari fundo without a weight on one end welded onto each of his wrists by the chain end. Each is twined around his arms.

Powers/Abilities: Hukki can generate electricity from his spines, and is also resistant to the shocks they give him. However, any electric charge much higher than that will hurt him.

As a member of Ehlek's species, Hukki can breathe water. He may stay out of it for some time, in which case he relies upon his mask to feed his gills enough water to last for one hour at rest. The mask can be refilled quite easily; however, it remains something that he relies upon when out of his native element. It also grants Hukki thermal imaging as while as normal sight, but sees both at the same time and can not be turned off as it directly interfaces with his brain. He has adapted to this quite well and often uses it in conjunction with his weapons to attack two targets at once with one arm (see equipment). He has also trained in the fields of stealth and reaction speed.

Equipment: Hukki is armed with a kusari-fundo on each arm, but each is three meters long as opposed to the usual one at most and made of the finest Protosteel. As well, his actual thumbs have been replaced with 1/3-meter long sickle-like protosteel blades which have some degree of dexterity. They are also retractable, which is why they are only seen in combat.

Fighting Style:

Weaknesses: If Hukki's mask came off or was damaged on land, then he'd have only a minute or two before becoming too weak to fight or get more water. As well, it would rid him of his double thermal vision.

Personality: Hukki is quiet, but often makes clear his assent or dissent through actions. He follows the law above all, but when there is no law, he turns to his own strict moral code. Hukki may lack eloquence, but he makes up for it with precise reliability, an analytic mind, and quiet strength.

MM... Naara sounds interesting... I'll be waiting to see how you play Hukki... He sounds like a Hau 2.0 to me...

E, I dunno...I might not use Hukki in the NBZP, and if so, probably not for a while.

But Naara is definitely going to be there. Depending on what kind of faction Exalt's will be, her alignment and bio will be determined. However, she'll definitely be Kinika's (a char of KNI's) sis.

For reference, BTW, her martial art is based on Jeet Kune Do, and her cotton armor is based on the Aztec ichcahuipilli ;}

And, to explain more about why I probably won't be using Hukki until next year and maybe not at all...I have around ten profiles or ideas for chars floating around in my head right now. And they just keep on increasing. So, as I actually used Hukki over the downtime in an RPG, I'm putting him as second priority (or in this case, around eleventh priority).

I actually never did think of him [Hukki] like that...However, come to think of it, they do have a lot of similarities. Thanks XP I'll keep that in mind when deciding who to cast into the pool of chars being used.

I dunno about that...If she can manipulate blood due to its high water content, then I feel it's even.

Then again, I have no idea if FT's chill with that or not. And besides, I had to depower her mask because of martial arts being considered a 'power'. She's about as balanced as she can be without one, IMHO. With a useful one (which she'd definitely wear otherwise), she'd almost certainly be on an entirely even playing field.

Martial arts being considered a power.

lolwut no.

And besides, if your're gonna pull that, well then Jolek'll just start screwing with you and your armor.

WELL SHE'LL STILL BE GIVING AS MUCH AS SHE'S TAKING IN DAMAGE, BRO

AND THE IRON IN YO BLOOD IS BONDED TO PROTEINS, SO IT'S NOT FERROMAGNETIC YO

AND MARTIAL ARTS IS A-

Wait.

Martial arts isn't a power.

...

Darn retconning.

No idea what to do, then. I'll definitely edit Naara, but not that much-maybe to just have a Calix or something else low-level for her replacing the Iden?

And don't even get me started on Hau...
