Time Well Spent

I was at my school for four hours after it closed today.

Now, you might be thinking, why is Mangs posting this? To complain?

Actually, it's because I learned so much about myself that it's not even funny.

After realizing no one was going to pick me up for a while, I proceeded to: Get rations in water and food, find the most easily defensible and warm spot I could sit and still hope to be seen from a car in and sit there whilst putting my backpack on the window for maximum visibility, put all my valuables and food within the fleece I had on to make sure no one could steal them from my backpack, unzip said fleece and warm it up before heater before zipping it back up, and place my book of German phrases to learn before the window so I could look around easily from my studying position and begin studying as I rationed out my food. In that order.

I'm actually surprised at how rational and automatic that process was; in fact, looking back on it, my reaction to the realization that I could be staying after the entire night until school opened again due to a lack of phone and no idea if the people who were supposed to pick me up even knew I was there was an incredibly dull acknowledgement of said possibility and moving on. In fact, I doubt that if I had just found that a zombie apocalypse had started during that period of time, I doubt my reaction would've been much different from what I did upon the first realization-main differences being that I would start heading towards the cafeteria to steal food, then the Chem. room to obtain acids and explosives for weaponry, then the tool shed for more weaponry, and then to the most defensible place with maximum exits at the same time in the entire school, etc.

So next time there's a crisis sitch...

Well...

Y'all know whota call, now.

ahh.. the school phones didn't work?? Or didn't have the number of the people picking you up? Either way, I like your description of your immediate reaction to one of life's many surprises!

Well, for one, I had absolutely no idea who would pick me up. My mom said absolutely nothing about the 'who' in the morning.

The school phones probably did work, but hey, it's not like I'd be able to use them. Especially considering the fact that I wouldn't have enough money to use their forsaken pay phone.
