Everybody keeps saying vote for Ditto, but Imposter really doesn't interest me as an ability. I voted for Feraligatr (or Totodile, but I wonder if they take evolutionary relative votes into account?), but it'll probably end up being Arceus or something lame. I can see Ditto taking the crown, though, it almost won in some of the past polls like this.

I know from experience on simulators how awesome Ditto is. Give it a Choice Scarf and it becomes a brilliant revenge killer! switch it in on something that's boosted its Attack or Special Attack and it becomes capable of SWEEPING! The latter is especially common against Cloyster with Shell Smash and Rock Blast!

 

Or, give Imposter Ditto a Macho Brace, Power item or Iron Ball, and it gbecomes even better still under Trick Room! It goes before the original under Trick Room, revenge kills, and has the versatility to threaten countless other Pokémon afterwards!

I guess with Macho brace you could get some novelty value, but he doesn't change his HP stat (or EV's), which is pretty dire. Maybe a decent revenge killer, but there are plenty of great revenge killers out there, Ditto is just a gimmick. Way too easy to stall out.

 

Or maybe this is just my hidden angst at Zoroark trolls coming out.

Ditto has good use as a scout lead too. In said simulator, I use it as a lead to find out my opponent's lead's moves. If any are reflectable with Magic Bounce, like Taunt, Toxic or Stealth Rock, I switch to my Magic Bounce Espeon, and she does the rest! NEVER GETS OLD! >:-D

If I went by that logic I'd've chosen Machop. However, I need Ditto to finish my troll team.
