For me it was never about the money. It was about URGENTLY needed work experience, and starting a career doing something I love.

Oh, I see. Hmm. Don't know what to say about that except that it's not probably completely over, so don't give up.

I have actually started applying for positions online already, including a customer service position at Metro which, if I play my cards right, could get me into the cab of a train in time.

It's a good thing I'm not worrying about jobs yet, although my mother's concerned that my interest in the Air National Guard - and later, maybe even full-time Air Force - might be complicated by my Asperger's Syndrome. I hope your job troubles are only due to overachieving and not due to life screwing you over.
