Hmm...I finished it up on Friday, review should be incoming soon.

 

I'm not sure how I feel about the game overall. On one hand, there's some great characters, pretty good story overall, a couple of boss fights I really loved, and the controls are great when they work. Also, I don't think I can ever play a Zelda game without a dash button again.

 

On the other hand, recalibrating is a fair bit too frequent, The Sky/Loftwing is iffy, I feel like it left the story left some questions unanswered, the overworld is pretty sparse, and the jab attack is kinda unreliable, which is problematic because you need it a lot. Also, the puzzles are a lot easier than past games, although I think combat was intended as the focus of the game.

 

Skyward Sword is definitely a great game, but it hasn't completely blown away all other Zelda games like I expected it to.

Just going to say, that so far I agree. It's not the best Zelda game I've ever played (though obviously that's just going to be hard to beat) The game is imo amazing. I haven't beaten it yet, (so no spoilers please :3) and I enjoy the combat, worlds and puzzles. But there is something a little different about it. It's new, just not completely polished all the way yet. Also I'm really hoping to just find Zelda now. I really hope the story ends up being great.
