Quite obviously, reality would split in two, creating two universes: one where the cat is alive and another where it is dead, thus allowing it to be alive and dead at the same time. You just don't know which universe you're in until you open the box.

SPIRIT: That's the general idea *salute* of Schrödinger's kitteh. Another fun thing to learn about is how Young's double slit experiment yields different results if you try to detect which slit a photon goes through. When you try to measure it, it acts like a particle. When you don't measure it, it acts like a wave. Cool stuff.

 

Schrodingers cat is an interesting subject I'd like to learn about when I'm older.
