The Apathy Pit

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night

Posted by The Present Automaton , Dec 25 2012 · 123 views

I am waaaay too easily amused, having found out I can spend about an hour just watching and laughing at a hamster spin around in her wheel at a rapid speed, then get out and look around as though she expected to have arrived in a completely new destination. Hysterical!
So I hope everyone had a nice Christmas, had fun with their family and were satisfied with their annual haul. I guess if everyone else is posting theirs, I might as well jump in.
-Dishonoured (PS3)
-Devil May Cry HD Collection (PS3) - I know what I'm playing when the release date for the stupid DmC comes out.
-The Order of the Scales and The Black Mausoleum by Stephen Deas
-Consider Phlebas, The Player of Games and Use of Weapons by Iain M. Banks.
-Scarf, gloves, smurf socks
-Electric toothbrush - I seem to be getting through these once a year. Clearly I am not very good at toothbrush.
-Marvel's Avengers Assemble (Blu-Ray)
-Barnes and Noble Leatherbound copy of The Divine Comedy - GORGEOUS
All in all it was a rather pleasant year and simply great to see my brother and sister again.

Christmas Eve Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long

Posted by The Present Automaton , Dec 24 2012 · 171 views

Death to the world! Cthulhu's come:
Let Earth abhor this thing.
Let every mind prepare for doom,
As anguish and woe he'll bring.
Up from the sea, R'lyeh did rise:
The cultists awestruck dumb.
With ancient rites so wretched and perverse,
Cthulhu's time has come.
Death to the world! Cthulhu reigns.
The Great Old Ones Destroy
With wrath and doom, so cruel and foul,
Replete with obscene joy.
He rules the Earth with dreadful might,
And through our ghastly dreams
His twisting turning tentacles
Elicit from us maddened screams.
Cthulhu's time has come.
At least, I think that's a traditional Christmas carol. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Happy Christmas Eve all. A reasonable chunk of the family is gathered, the "fireplace" is lit and my mum, for one reason or another, has gone out and bought herself a hamster. It's adorable. She called it Tingle. It's finally beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

I'm a woman now

At least, according to one of the universities I've applied to. On more than one occasion now I've received a letter from them addressed to a "Miss Alex ######" which always refers to me as female. I don't know why they seem to believe I'm someone else when every other university has their facts straight. Maybe it's all because of that one time I requested a prospectus from them and they got me to fill in the form by hand. But do my r's really looks like s'? Either way, I guess the logical thing would be to get in touch with them and ask them to sort it out but I can't really be bothered for now. I don't even know if I got in so it may not even be worth it.
Plus, if I actually did end up going there I wonder how long I could get through those three years before somebody finally noticed something was up.

After the End

Posted by The Present Automaton , Dec 21 2012 · 112 views

So according to the Mayan's and every paranoid person ever, today we all died...Is this life after death? More BZPower? WHY CAN'T I GET AWAY FROM THIS PLACE?
Though at least now, my last lesson was today and the college term has ended. At least now I can rest until...What's that, I'm working from 7:30am tomorrow? Oh, and the day after that? And the day after that? ...Bugger.

I can't wait until the world ends

Maybe then people might stop talking about how the world's about to end.
Another thing I'll say is that being as incredibly tired as I am at the moment does have its benefits. For one, the dark circles under my eyes are now so pronounced I look like a sinister antagonist from some film. That is until it gets about 10pm and one eye remains permanently half closed. Then it just looks like I have a black eye.
Still, last day of term tomorrow. Then I can restore a normal sleeping scheduZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
