Ah Yes, "mayors"

The town/city-level elected officials allegedly coming together to determine how to serve their people on a state level.

We have dismissed that claim.

If I were just two or three months and got my permit as such, I'd have a license, could get into a car and drive to the only game store in the area that sells physical copies of Mass Effect 2(Everyone else has gone to downloads as far as what's nearby), which happens to be a far enough distance that negotiation of favours and such - Something I'm annoyed, but fine to wait a bit more to avoid stooping to - is required for anyone to drive me there, return home, and finally play a sequel people have told me is an improvement in what is already an immensely awesome game.

However because enough morons my age happened to decide to try and text or call someone while driving and got their comeuppance in the form of an accident(I've ranted on this many times, I have no intent to become a hypocrite on this matter), the aforementioned politicians have increased the time before I can get a license as well as making the test more difficult, which frustrates me both since now I have to wait longer to get a copy of ME2, I have to wait longer to get a license, and I can't say on any applications that I can transport myself to work, which is a big deal as far as jobs a minor can get go.

I detest being falsely generalized.

I think I may have had a part in this, as I wish for people who text while driving to get in car accidents.

Could you check to see if they'll allow you to get your license in another county? It works around my area.

Unfortunately, the change was at the state level after local mayors lobbied the governor or something. I'm not very wise when it comes to lower-level politics.

dude whaaaaaaat

thats insane, how did it take effect that fast?

Car crash involving two texting drivers killing five people, three of whom were new drivers, two of whom were driving. Tragedy tends to cause action.

Tends to be one of the very few things that causes actions.

But hey, it could be worse. You could have to wait till you're eighteen, like I do.

You know the funny thing is, no matter how many text-while-driving accidents happen. I still do it. And Florida will never change their laws to up the age.

I mean, once you're eighteen they basically hand you the friggan license.

Since when did you play/were into Mass Effect?

EDIT: And why can't your parents drive you, or just download it?

Very true on both accounts.

Since then. And as said, it's close enough that I'd be fine going, but far enough that getting one of them to take the time it takes to go both ways requires negotiating favours, which I hate doing enough to wait a month or two more.(I don't like having debts, especially ones I'm not certain how I'll be repaying) As for downloading, unfortunately, I'm using a Mac, and my Windows emulator I used for ME1 can't connect to the internet, so going through getting the .exe program on the computer, transferring it to the emulator, opening it there, configuring it in it properly, and all that would be more work than it's worth when I can get a physical copy. That and I like owning physical copies of stuff.
