If people don't get that you're joking, or don't understand why something you said is a joke, you need to understand that explaining the joke is killing the joke, unless and only unless explaining the joke is in fact the joke. Half the humour for me is seeing people not understand a joke when a number of others do.
Of course, if no one gets that you're joking, or don't understand why something you said is a joke, you need to understand that it was probably a bad joke in the first place, and that explaining it certainly won't make it any better.
Sorry I got distracted, and forgot why I was making this entry. Oh well, here it is anyway.
