Bbc Contests
I just thought I should post this, it's been annoying me for a while - people entering MOCs they've already built into a BBC contest.
I don't think people should do this, and Tufi Piyufi agrees with me. The point of the contest is to build a MOC for the theme, not enter some MOC you've had lying around for a while, that you might be able to fit in if you add a storyline to it.
Let's look at it another way - you enter a poetry contest. You have 20 minutes to write a poem, inspired by a list of words. You work really hard, doing the best you can in the time limit, and you're pleased with the result. It shows how much you can write in that 20 minutes under pressure. You've written a short poem, but it sounds really good.
But then someone else hands in a poem that's 50 pages long. They win the contest - but the thing is, that was a poem they'd written before. Should they really win?
Just something to think about.
