OOC: I have to admit that I laugh every time I think of Shade just nonchalantly cutting a hole in the wall and leaning out holding four mattresses while other heroes are left in the room to ponder over the mysteries of life, the universe, and everything. IC: Shade - Best. Thing. Ever. As Shade fell, the mattresses spread beneath him under extreme G-force and slowing down the descent marginally, he thought about the next factory: Hero Factory 2.0 would never be complete; Missing some essential fundamental part of itself if... it didn't have a sky dive. With the image playing in his mind of dozens of heroes all taking turns jumping off of the top of Hero Factory one after the other in an endless loop, each one giving a whoop or a scream as they fell, Shade hit the ground wearing a smile. The mattresses pressed together as tightly as possible and Shade was lucky that he hadn't hurt himself. He lay there for a few seconds wishing that he could have stayed in the air longer, but at last stood up, did a routine check to make sure nothing was damaged, and then looked around to catch his bearings. Edit: Unflattened Shade a bit.

OOC: The way I understand it, each bed has to support a giant robot that weighs up to 500lbs (maybe more). Just like a human bed, the frame and the mattress have to be sturdy enough to support a robot while it sleeps, tossing and turning included. While the frame is much of the strength of the bed system, four mattresses formerly of a structure capable of the things previously mentioned could possibly be enough to stop Shade from dying or fatally maiming himself from the large impact. I found this, it doesn't take the mattresses into account, but I think Shade can make it.

OOC: Ah, thanks for the clarification. Then again, the town residents in London didn't exactly have trillions of tons (I have no idea how much HF HQ weighs) of infrastructure crashing down on top of their hideaways. I'm out of my field of expertise here and will say no more on the subject.

IC: Shade - Leaving The Roofless Med Bay Shade slowly got up, stretched, and then proceeded to cut a hero-sized hole into the side of the med Bay. This done, he grabbed four hero-mattresses off the nearest beds, positioned them into a stack that he could put his side to as he clung to them, leaned out the "window," and fell. OOC: This building's probably going to fall from the top straight to the bottom collapsing on itself like a flattened sandwich, and everyone is hiding in the basement where the entire structure is most likely to come to rest. This makes sense. Edit: Assuming that the building has to collapse at all of course.

OOC: First of all, it's K-e-s-t-r-e-l that goes to you too fishers, that's an "e" at the end SECOND though, how exactly are you following the Kestrel in the first place? It's made two different jumps at faster than light speeds, and while I could kinda buy tracking the Kestrel in its first jump (since it didn't jump very far away), the second has taken it much farther out into space, and predicting where exactly it'd end up should be next to impossible. OOC: I'm terribly sorry about that. IC: The Scalpel: Trail Lost After the Kestrel made its very unpredictable jump to light speed, Silke began heading back towards home.

IC: Shade - Med Bay After a skeleton and a large, impaled hero had been brought in for treatment within a few hours of each other, it became immediately apparent to Shade that he was by no means the med staff's top priority. He allowed himself to slide down the wall with his arms hugging his knees and continued to wait for a chance for his own injury to be looked at. IC: The Scalpel - Behind the Kestral Silke was still following the rogue hero's ship at a safe distance. OOC: I don't really see a way for my characters to join the battle right now without metagaming. Shade is waiting for repairs and his ship is out following orders. It wouldn't make sense for the two of them to suddenly have a change of heart/plan and go do something else.

OOC: I'm fine with whatever you decide. I just wanted to make sure all parties involved were aware of the temperature and I don't intend to tell anyone how their characters should behave/act (unless they're being OP).

OOC: From what I can understand from the very small amount of research I undertook, Ardor should be as, or nearly as, hot as his flames against Breaker were. According to Ardor's profile, he's heat resistant, not heat absorbent and nowhere does it mention an ability to cool his exterior down. As he uses his fire abilities, his armour heats up and holds the temperature to some degree long after the fire's been used. This would mean that he is well insulated against the flames' effects, but he would burn anything around him to cinders for a while after being exposed to his own flames.

OOC: Actually, is there any villain that can fight Ardor and stand half a chance? The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Von Nebula's Ghost and Traferous.

OOC: Hello everyone! I've been sick since I last posted and didn't feel up to the task of wading through 4 more pages of RPG until today (I'm finally feeling better). In regards to the Breaker and Ardor situation, I would like to point out that the temperature of the fire Ardor is using could be a useful thing to know when it's used. Also, even if the flames were exactly the same temperature as the melting point of Breaker's armour, the temperature of the air and the temperature of the armor itself would cool the flames down. As the fire heats up the air and the armor, it loses energy and heat resulting in slightly cooler flames. The fire wouldn't necessarily melt the armour off of Breaker like it was nothing. IC: Shade - Heading To Medical Shade exited the foyer and arrived at the Med Bay in order to have his dent looked at. He turned all his equipment off, and then addressed the room in general, "If there's not any pressing emergencies or anything like that, I have a large dent in my side that I need attended to. It's not urgent or anything, so I can wait if need be." OOC: I recall placing The Scalpel at a safe distance behind The Kestrel. Is it safe to assume that Shade's ship escaped from being covered in planet or not? Also, I don't remember if the Med Bay is still under lock-down, so please let me know if something Shade did doesn't work.

OOC: The logic for Shade's knowing Focus's rogue status seems fairly simple to me. A hero doesn't just let somebody carry a civilian off into the water. When that somebody is challenged and they use that civilian as a shield, that marks them as a villain. Shade was there long enough to see Focus kill Echo. He also saw that Focus didn't ever raise a finger in defense of the civilian being carried off. While none of the pieces themselves necessarily indicate that Focus was rogue 100%, I believe hindsight puts the full puzzle together and finds that conclusion. As to the ship finding them right away, it's a very very fast ship built for interplanetary travel. IC: Shade - Outside Hero Factory Shade walked in through the front doors and looked around. IC: The Scalpel Evidently, no opportunity to capture an image or fire a shot off at the offending hero had presented itself. Most of Silke's directives were now unattainable as shooting at Focus's ship would put the civilian in danger and taking a picture of the pair together was impossible. Silke still had one order she could still follow, however: Follow. The Scalpel began to tail Focus's ship at a safe distance while at the same time projecting it's coordinates directly to Zib's desk.

OOC: Focus could be "leading" Sharp by holding a sword across the back of his neck. ~Unit#phntk#1 OOC: Aye, that he could. That's partly why I asked.

the one your character came out of here... although now I'm realizing that the vessel itself is cloaked. I'll edit my post. OOC: Haha. That's what I thought he was trying to do. Thanks for clarifying. IC: Shade - Battle By The Water The civilian was dead. Oh well. With nothing else to try (other than to sink his power metre by 20% again and hope something better than last time happened), Shade decided to head after the other civilian and the rogue hero after he took care of something first. "Silke, I need to use the trunk." After the back of The Scalpel opened, Shade struggled with Echo's corpse until it was in. "All right, close it up and then go to the entrance of Hero Factory. There should be a civilian and a hero on their way there. I need you to follow them. If you can get a good picture of them to send to Zib, do it. The hero is rogue and killed the one I stuffed inside your trunk. Be sure to tell them that if you send a picture." "All right." "If you get a straight shot at the hero, take it as long as the civilian won't be terribly affected." "Roger that." Shade headed off towards Hero Factory. IC: The Scalpel The ship headed off and soon found the duo. OOC: Pardon me for asking, but I have a few things I'm unclear on regarding Focus and Sharp. I'm not entirely sure how they are positioned in relation to each other, so I don't know if taking a shot at Focus or taking a picture is feasible. Also, Focus is still carrying a hero core last I checked and "leading Sharp." Is it right to assume that both his hands are full with non-weapons?

IC Shade - Battle By The Water This was the only time Shade had been genuinely surprised. Ever. The possibility of something being able to detect him had never entered any logical equation he had ever manipulated. Anamnesis's blasts threw Shade backward into a heap. As he picked himself up off the ground, Shade reassessed the situation after throwing in the energy being's ability to see Shade into the equation. It didn't look good. A being made up of pure energy (except the core) that could detect Shade could theoretically be almost impervious to anything Shade could possibly throw at it. There was only one thing left to try: Attack the core and hope something didn't go horribly wrong. Shade turned the link back on, put his blades together, and unleashed a giant quaza blast at Anamnesis's core which instantly dropped his own total power level by 20%.

IC: Shade - Battle By The Water Shade wasn't surprised when the hero he attacked turned around. He was slightly annoyed at the shield that had blocked anything from being damaged, but it was just a temporary problem. Admittedly, Shade didn't know much about what had just occurred. What he did know, however, seemed enough. 1: Three heroes were fighting over a civilian. 2: Only one of the heroes was trying to defend the civilian. 3: No messages went out from mission control or anyone else regarding a rogue hero. Of course, seeing as both heroes had been fighting each other and neither one called for help, this didn't tell Shade much. Either way, a hero was dead and no backup had been called or was being called for. The two heroes left alive needed to come in for questioning before Shade could just dismiss the ordeal out of hand. As it was, the strange one was taking the civilian back towards the water and Shade couldn't allow that. With no obvious joints or weaknesses visible on the energy golem, Shade decided to make a grab for the civilian instead of tackling an opponent with unknown powers. He turned his quaza link off mid-run towards the civilian and attempted to wrestle him free from the strange one's grasp.

OOC: Sure! Quoting from his profile: "Shade makes use of two foldable raw quaza-embedded arm-blades that are linked directly to his battery. They can sear their way through most materials and are capable of short ranged quaza blasts. Shade has the choice to turn the blades’ quaza link on or off depending on how low his battery is running. Turning the quaza off saves the hero on energy, but causes the blades to lose their palpable cutting capability."

IC: Shade - Hero Battle Shade had watched the two heroes (and maybe a third?) struggle as he raced towards the scene. He hadn't been able to determine who was malfunctioning until one of them had stepped between a civilian and the one made of what looked like energy. The strange one didn't look like it wanted to fight, although it appeared to covet the civilian for some unknown reason. If there wasn't a villain here, then why were 3 heroes fighting over a civilian? The only conclusion that Shade could come up with was that the energy being after the civilian was malfunctioning. The hero that attacked the figure standing between the malfunctioning energy being and its prey must also be malfunctioning. Only a fully functioning hero would take a stand between a villain (to use villain very loosely) and a civilian, right? With this analysis, Shade circled around the fight, switched the quaza link on, and attempted to swipe Focus's legs off from behind with a scissor motion. OOC: Edited Shade's logic to include Anamnesis's hero core.

IC: The Scalpel The ship arrived at the Hero Factory tower. "What's next, Shade?" Silke asked. IC: Shade - Inside The Scalpel Shade exited the recharge station and returned to his seat fully charged. He still needed that dent to be looked at, but that would have to wait. "Circle the tower for a bit. I want to see how much damage has been caused." The tower had never looked worse. The amount of laser burns and holes riddling the sides of the structure was just appalling. As he took it all in, Shade noticed two small figures on the ground. There seemed to be a commotion of some sort although Shade couldn't tell what was going on from up where he was. "Silke, could you get me closer to those two?" As Silke obligingly maneuvered the ship closer to the two figures, it became immediately apparent by the cores on their chests that they were heroes, and additionally weren't on good terms with each other. Not just that, but It seemed there was a third member of the struggle who was slowly backing towards the water with a hostage. "Land me near the fighting ones." Shade commanded. As the cloaked vessel made down about 10 yards away from the skirmish, Shade, with chameleon and sound dampening fields active, exited the vehicle and began dashing towards the battle. OOC: I'll leave it up to Nato as to whether or not Anamnesis can detect the energy usage beneath Shade's cloak. I did not specify in Shade's profile the details of the shield's full cloaking capabilities and am ready to pay for any consequences tied to that.

IC: Shade - Conference Ruins As Shade watched the other two heroes branch out to their respective vehicles, one headed for combat and one headed for villain storage (presumably), and then got a blip from his comm: "I'm here. To your right." As he turned, the cloak around The Scalpel came down, allowing Shade to see his beloved ship. He climbed in and gave Silke her destination before he headed into the recharge station. IC: The Scalpel The once-again cloaked ship took off and proceeded on the fastest route between Antropolis and Makuhero City.
