They had replaced a sizable portion of her flesh with machinery and were about to introduce the glistening oil, her free will would soon be overwritten by frenzied zealotry. As the first drop fell towards a surgical gash, time seemed to slow as the drop, the operating table, the Gitaxians, everything melted into a brilliant radiance. Gone was the horror of a doomed world, the drop fell through empty air. She lay in a cobblestone street flooded with all manner of folk. Before she could be trampled by the host, she was collected by some good Samaritan. Velzise was nursed back to health within the Selesnya Conclave on the plane of Ravnica. Phyrexia had lost a victim and gained an eternal enemy in the planeswalker Velzise.
