Wow, this is a late reply. Haven't been asked that, the dates are only chosen because that was the last time I did that letter. Ie I did the last 'I' entry on 26th of March 2010 (member #99409 'iRONiC'), and the previous on the 2nd of May 2008 (member #36734 'In memory of Aaron').

I'll post a more thorough summary of my thoughts in my blog shortly/later, but for now I'll simply say I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, I love the 2D cartoons as well. Done so well. In my no fun old age, I can certainly see the flaws and stuff, but nostalgia still trumps all that. In the end the same will probably be for the movie too. I do like the choice of cast though, from what I remember of it. Fancy that, another Jackson film with Andy Serkis in motion capture suits.

Yeah, you would think they'd try to do an excellent job, and I'm sure they will. What I've heard a couple of times though is that some have been disappointed with how the eyes look in the film. The more realistic look of them is almost LESS expressive than the simple dot or circle eyes in the books. I can see what they mean, but I'm reserving judgement.

Sorta, in the sense that I'm worried that they won't do justice to the books. Heard plenty of good things about it, and it looks pretty good right now, but yeah, there's just a little bit of me that's anxious about it. But yeah, can't wait to see it.
