Like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Then check out many of the deals going on at shop.LEGO.com right now! First of all, if you spend $75 or more, you get an exclusive Flashback Shredder minifigure polybag, valid online and at LEGO Stores. If you can make it to one of the stores, you can also take place in Turtle-themed activities, such as building a Turtle or finding them hidden around the store. Finally, VIP Members can earn an extra 50 points when they get the Turtle Sub Undersea Chase set. On top of that, all the summer TMNT sets are available. So what are you waiting for, grab a weapon and some pizza and join in on the fun!

Shame the Exo-Suit isn't releasing this month as well. It has a turtle!

In all seriousness, while I'm no TMNT fan, the sets (even the newly released ones based on the much-criticized new movie) are generally fantastic. I love the aesthetic of both the cartoon-based sets which are colorful and retro and the movie-based sets which are gloriously grim and dank-looking. And they're packed with interesting features, not to mention parts in rare colors like Olive Green.

I skimmed the instructions of the new movie-based sets yesterday, and the biggest thing to stand out to me is a new sword-holder piece that can attach a crossed pair of swords to a single stud. In those sets it's used to attach the swords to one of the turtles' backs, but I can see it finding use in other themes for decorative ornamental swords, especially if (like most Lego sword holders) it can fit both katanas and cutlasses.

EDIT: I realized upon checking the set's inventory on Brickset that the sword holder actually attaches via a 3.2 mm bar, rather than an anti-stud. It's still useful, perhaps even more so since attaching it to a 1x2 brick with Technic axle hole will center it on a wall without leaving a gap.
