Sharnak the Bohrok Lord
I always thought tarakava hunted like a crocodile, squatting and hiding in shallow waters. Though this does bring up a good question: how do the tread rahi move in the wild? Think of the muaka/kane-ra. They have two front legs and treads for back legs. This really doesn't make sense for a creature to use two different of mobility at the same time. The only way I can I see it happening is that muaka and kane-ra use both legs and treads simultaneously to walk and only use treads to run while the front legs are for attack and/or defense. Still, I don't think treads would be good for maneuvering in the wild, especially in the island of mata nui. What if it gets stuck or has to climb over things? Unless the treads are flexible, I can't see that happening. You can tell that I've never been quite a fan of rahi being part vehicles. Yes, I know that rahi are biomechanical so there's no reason why they couldn't be on wheels, but even in a fantastic setting you need elements that are close to our reality. If you depart too much, you risk alienating your audience, and the 01 rahi do that for me. I don't hate it and I'm not trying to complain; it just makes makes me scratch my head. This is entirely subjective, so if you think rahi with tires and wheels just are just fine or even awesome, feel free to think that way. 1 Quote Remember Artwork III? It was the best of times. bonesiii
What if it gets stuck or has to climb over things? Then either it gets free with its arms (or finds a way around), or dies. Real-life animals run into limitations all the time. Why should not artificial lifeforms? (So do people for that matter.) But I don't see treads getting most creatures stuck badly. The whole point of treads is they tend to handle rough terrain well; that's why we put them on tanks. And if a type of creature can't climb, it avoids heights (animals that do that exist you know).
