IMPORTINT EDIT11!!1: How do make picture appear as pictures using flickr?

 

Shoutout to Paleo, for nagging me incessantly to post my dumpy little MoCs. All of these are from at least a year ago, I'm just getting around to photographing and posting them now. Sorry for the quality of the pictures, I used my very best toaster to take them. C&C welcome - perhaps it may motivated me to make more semi-decent builds. 

 

Toa Onua

This is a Toa Mata Onua revamp - I think my first MoC. I tried my best to make him chunky and bulky and set his head a little lower than the average Toa. My only current gripe with him is that the claw that makes up his abs sticks out a little too far on his butt. Shoutout to [TDC]Blitzkitteh for hooking me up with a lot of those parts.

Makuta Krahlhi

My first larger MoC, Makuta Krahlhi. My only real beef with this guy is that the dark green Rahkshi legs on his calves should be dark grey (I just don't have those parts in that color anymore, or at least at that time) and how awkward his claw-hands are. The claw-hands give a lot of playability, as you can shape them into various claw shapes, weapons, or even crude shields. They also shouldn't be light blue (grey or Mata blue), but again, parts shortage. This guy started as a torso, and that's my favorite part - he has an articulated torso, allowing him to swivel his torso in all directions, something I have rarely seen in most Bionicle sets. 

Backstory: Makuta Krahlhi was unique in that he was one of the Makuta that opposed Teridax's takeover of the Brotherhood of Makuta. As such, he was placed on Teridax's hitlist. Prior to his demise, he lorded over a now-lost island paradise. Krahlhi was notable in his pursuit of mastery in hand-to-hand combat, his tendency of shifting masks every couple of days, and dubious honor of being one of Icarax's only friends. He was the only Makuta able to consistently hold his own against the belligerent Icarax in the sparring pits on Destral. As such, both due to efficiency and as a test for Icarax, Teridax assigned Icarax to personally terminate Krahlhi on his remote island. Krahlhi already knew that his doom was at hand, and as such, ordered all the villagers to leave. On a side note, Krahlhi was not particularly kind to his constituents, but at least acknowledged them more than most of his ilk. The resulting duel was mind-boggling, with the entire island being destroyed in the fighting. Icarax returned with Krahlhi's preferred mask, a Huna, and some scattered pieces of his armor and claws, but nothing else. Like the island, Krahlhi and his name have been lost to the sands of time.

Dark Mirror Makuta (Teridax)

This is my interpretation of Dark Mirror Teridax. I pictured him as hunched over, black and rusted metal making up his ancient, but powerful frame. I think he also carried a barbed longsword in the story, hence the barbed longsword in the MoC. My only issue is probably his arms - they are mostly CCBS (what a surprise, CCBS causes issues) and I feel they seem overly simple and almost incomplete in comparison to the rest of the figure.

Thanks for showing us your year old Moc's.

 

Unfortunately Onua has  a gaping hole in his torso, that needs fixing. What are all the pieces on his back for, I would have assumed armour but they seem to be for something more. Besides that he's ok.

 

Makuta Krahlhi can do with a better colour scheme, I'd say put more focus on the blues?

 

Teridax is pretty cool colour scheme wise, and build wise, but the random coloured  pieces need to go, and sticking to one variant of gold would be better too.

@The Invisible Noob Any tips on how I could fill out the center of the torso on Onua? I don't think there are any more free connection points of any kind in his chest skeleton.

I think onua would look better with a secondary colour - maybe dark bluish grey for the ccbs skeleton. The gap in the chest is very unsightly and maybe you could cover it up with a larger CCBS shell, or use that connection point to move his head forwards and down like the original set.

Either replace the armour on his stomach of a slightly larger piece that can cover up to his chest, or completely redo the design of his front. Also the Ball connector pieces behind his head don't look good at all.
