The Crystal Library

You are walking through the desolate streets of an abandoned city once glorious and thriving, once frivolous with the hustle and bustle of its inhabitants. You were sent here by an unknown, told to come here as a way to pass the time. They promised that your time here would be well spent.

The cold pavement, blackening skies, and light rainstorm makes you wish for the comforts of a warm home, but somehow you know that there is no hope of finding such a place here. But just as you think this, you see a silhouette standing by one of the empty buildings here. You cannot see them very clearly, but you do see their hand beckoning you to come towards them. You agree in hopes that they will provide you with care.

When you meet with them, you see that they are black and grey like the city. They open a door for you, and this doorway leads you down a long, winding hallway. You think it will never end, but finally you reach another black door. When the being opens the door for you, you are nothing but amazed.

You gawk at the world of beauty and color before you, and soak in the warmth of the brightly lit room. You are left speechless by the crystal chandelier hanging high above you, and are astonished by the delicate features of every object. Everything in the room is made of crystal: Crystal vases stand tall in the corners of the room, a warm fireplace at either end of the wide area, crystal tables and chairs in corners, pictures everywhere – you wonder if this is an illusion.

Your hostess is sitting by one of the fireplaces, but before you can step towards her, she rises. She is tall and thin, the picture of elegance. Her armor is deep purple and silver, traces of scarlet intertwined with the royal purple, and her mask, a Kanohi Huna, is all purple. Her emerald green eyes enchant you and draw you in, and her welcoming smile makes you secure in the knowledge that you have found a resting place.

She leads you to sit by the fire, and then showcases to you rows of bookshelves – the shelves are dusty, while the books seem unused. She smiles at you once more, and the dancing green of her eyes tells you to do nothing but read to your heart’s content.

Epics

A Dark Hunter’s Tale : Review Topic : Consequently my first epic on the site, explaining the back story of one of my own characters, Tikiani. [status : Complete]

Danger Close : Review Topic: The sequel to A Dark Hunter’s Tale, this story takes on the perspective of both sides as they prepare for battle in a matter of days. [status : Complete]

Encounters : Review Topic : A weak attempt at writing a horror-themed, ten-chapter story for Halloween. I consider it an abomination to the Library. [status : Incomplete – I do not plan to finish it.]

Short Stories

_~_~_~_~_~_~_

You’ll Always be My Friend : [bionicle] : Hahli must decide where her true feelings lie: Matoro or Jaller. This is my first short story on the site – yet another abomination to the Library. Let it be noted that what I considered a songfic at that time is not what a true songfic actually is.

Nightmare : [bionicle] : One of Tahu’s premature ventures on Voya-Nui – is it reality, or simply a nightmare?

My Valentine : [bionicle] : A Ko-Matoran sculptor falls for one of his clients, a Ga-Matoran. He begins to learn that it is often hard to convey his true feelings. [Valentine’s Day Special]

Mistletoe : [bionicle] : Nagii, leader of the Elite Stealth Division on Rohan, falls in love with the leader of the Toa Rohan, Jilin, and she learns that he feels the same way. Could it be love or mistletoe? [Christmas Special]

Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain : [bionicle - Songfic] : A chronicle of Hewkii and Macku, from when he first departs from Mata-Nui to him coming back to Metru-Nui to his love, Macku. [Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain by Willie Nelson]

Angel : [bionicle – Songfic] : Lesovikk reminisces of his love and best friend, Nikila, and finds that sometimes, time doesn’t heal all wounds. [Angel by Sarah McLachlan]

For the Glory Feat : [bionicle] : A Ta-Matoran, Fuzan, climbs the peaks of Rohan in an effort to obtain the legendary Sword of Zeya.

To Fly : [COT] : A brief story characterizing the bond between pilot and plane.

Depression : [COT] : A study of depression and its effect on a person – specifically a girl who wishes to meet someone she loves, but he is thousands of miles from her.

Dancer : [COT – Songfic] : An in-depth perspective of a dancer’s emotional and powerful dance, describing each of her moves in detail. Dedicated to one of my closest friends, who is also my role-model. [Alice by Avril Lavigne]

Winter Years : [COT – Write-Off] : A girl wanders through her hometown on Christmas Eve, and she discovers the true meaning of Christmas.

Comedies

_~_~_~_~_~_

Unity, Duty, Stupidity : [bionicle] : The Toa Nuva live out their lives on their own reality TV show, and my first [failed] attempt at comedy. [status : Cancelled]

Poetry

_~_~_~_~_

Before the Storm : [bionicle/COT – it can be interpreted either way] : People of an island wait for a storm that has come before, and while they wait, they begin to wonder of their destinies and question time itself.

Once More : [bionicle] : A sort of summarization of Bionicle in its entirety, although no direct mention of the storyline.

Paper Heart : [COT] : Proof that hearts can be like paper – smooth sometimes, or crumpled when hurt.

Autumn : [COT] : A description of autumn and my love for the season through poetry.

Soon to Come

_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_

The Unknown : [COT] : A spirit is lost and alone between life and the afterlife, unwelcomed by the living and the dead. Can they undo this miserable wrong by confessing their sins to the dead?

Set Fire to the Rain : [bionicle/COT – haven’t decided what theme – Songfic] : Uzian recalls his past, and his current love that deserted him – Tikiani. [Set Fire to the Rain by Adele]

Crystal : [bionicle] : The third and final installment of my current trilogy of epics.

Author’s Comments/Inspirations

_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_~_

I recall having an older library, although due to my procrastinating nature, I neglected to update it over time, so I opted to create a newer, revamped version. Since I’m probably going to become more and more inactive over time, I wanted to post the newer library of my works with hopes that others will view my collection of stories. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to apply links and URLs to the majority of the stories listed here.

That’s where you come in: I need help with links for stories, and if you are willing to help me and possibly find old links to my stories, please PM them to me and I will be very, very thankful for your kindness. Although I will not have any form of reward for you, I might be able to do something for you. If you have any story, piece of art, MOC – anything – I will be glad to review it for you in an attempt to reward you. Thank you.

To move on, I need to list some of my inspirations. I owe almost all of my ability to write whatsoever to Lady Kopaka. Her stories made me really, really appreciate writing, and made me want to write like her. Although I definitely can’t say that I can write like her at all, I still can write, and from what people have told me, I can write well (though, honestly, I don’t think that theory holds much water).

When I started writing, I didn’t have anybody motivating me or encouraging me to write more. The only person that ever told me to write more was me, because I knew I could improve.

Over time, I rallied no support from anyone, until I finally gained some more friends here. Out of all these, there are three that I feel are my biggest inspirations, if not for their own talent but for their friendship. My best friend, Taka Nuvia, has always been around for me to talk to, and although not a very big writer herself, she is still my best friend and I have always wanted to emulate her artistic talent and overall friendliness (Let’s face it, I don’t tend to be the friendliest person).

The second person is one that I don’t talk to that often, but I always felt support from him. I must say that one of my biggest inspirations and motivators has to be Velox. For his support I thank him, although I don’t think I can possibly give him anything in return that could be better than what he has done for me.

The third is Eponine, or Aderia. She is like a sister to me, as we tend to share the common interests of craziness, writing, kittens, and many other things. She’s helped me through tough scenarios, and I’ve always thought she was one of the best writers on the site, although sometimes underrated.

I also owe my inspiration and writing capabilities to most of my friends here, including Zarayna, Ezorov, Inferna Firesword, and I hate to admit that there are many, many others that I have forgotten that should belong here. All these people I thank for their kindness and insanity.

I would go on, but I think it would turn into pathetic ramblings as this is already. If you took the time to read this, thank you, and I hope you enjoy my collection of stories.

On the day the wall came down / They threw the locks onto the ground

And with glasses high / We raised a cry / For freedom had arrived

On the day the wall came down / The ship of fools had finally run aground

Promises lit up the night / Like paper doves in flight

I dreamed you had left my side / No warmth, not even pride remained

And even though you needed me / It was clear that I could not do a thing for you

Now life devalues day by day / As friends and neighbors turn away

And there's a change that even with regret / Cannot be undone

Now frontiers shift like desert sands / While nations wash their bloodied hands

Of loyalty, of history / In shades of grey

I woke to the sound of drums / The music played, the morning sun streamed in

I turned and I looked at you / And all but the bitter residues slipped away

slipped away...

Bringing up your library again is an awesome move. Everyone who gets on here, read that stuff. Peach is too young to be writing at that high of a level, but she does it anyway. =)

Thanks, Grant. =) I don't think I'm that good of a writer, but it is kind of you to say so. I do hope people will view the stories listed here, though, although I hope more that I can get some volunteers to help me with these links. Thanks again for the comment. =]
