Tahu 2008 rules. First off, I never liked the Hau Nuva, it reminded me of an angry bear. I think its new form is MUCH better, as it bears at least SOME resemblance to the 2001 Hau. Also, it looks less angry and more noble. Which fits Tahu. His "shuriken" might come in useful in a swamp, after all, you don't want to trip on a vine.
