The Number 53

Okay, I love the number 53. For a long time, I've wanted to make a list of all things that had to do with that number. However, I never got around to it. The number seems to be everywhere, and for a long time I've been wanting to record its seeming omnipresence. I'm calling you to reply to this topic and give me various facts in order to assist me in making this list.   Please reply.   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Altruistic Love

Last Valentine's Day, I sent a letter to a girl of whom I had a special interest in. The letter contained a careful analysis on my outlook on altruistic love, a subject which I found to be a fitting message not only for Valentine's Day, but for every day of our lives.   The letter, six pages of quality, kept a consistent Christian perspectgive. I am a Christian and I passed it on to a Christian reader, so a Christian theme was to be accepted and appreciated. We were peers. However, I have wa

What Friends Do

I must really appreciate what EmperorWhenua said here in my last blog entry. He is a friend, and sometimes a friend has to point out the errors of the other. That is what friends do, because they care for each other, and the best thing you can do for someone if you care for them is to pick them up when they stumble. I really respect EmperorWhenua for standing up and giving his honest opinion in that blog entry, and I agree with what he said. I admit, I feel guilty for the arrogance in that b

A Christmas Present For My Father

For the longest time, it has always been the parent who has thought of me. I always felt guilty being the person to receive the presents on Christmas instead of being one of the people who went out of their way to give them. For once, I want to be the one truly thinking of others. I have not taken Christmas for granted. Now, the one present that I really want is one that can only be given to me by myself. That Christmas present is the spirit of giving.   I have heard those stories where the

Why Am I Not Popular? I'm Curious.

The title basically says it all. I've just noticed that a lot of my friends have about an average of eight replies for their typical blog entry, even when they're the random ones. Yet, for some of my entries, I'd be lucky if I get a comment at all. What do they have that I don't have?   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Published Art

I thought that I would inform you that I found out a couple of days ago that a work of art of mine is going to be published in a local magazine called Harvest next April. It was a portrait of Michael Phelps, which I put great time and effort into. Having this gratuitously published is an honor. I will post a picture of it later when I can so you can see it yourself.   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Extra-shiny

It is odd where you can find inspiration. Sometimes you can find it from places and people that you would expect to even give you a negative influence. Yet, in this case, this negative influence was positive, a diamond in the rough.   Once there was a time when I was a child. The thought has been pondering in the back of my heart for a while, and I had mentioned it a couple of times in words in the past week or so. "When you are a child, everything is extra-shiny". Everything is more fun, m

Vote On My Name Change

Okay, I've never done this before, but the idea came to mind. Basically, I was considering changing my title temporarily to something that doesn't include the term Emperor. I will be making the switch on December 12. Here are the options.   Keep it at "Emperor Kraggh" Kaiser Kraggh President Kraggh Kraggh Der Führer Χρυσός Kraggh Kraggh II Kraggh   Vote away.   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

My Work Here Is Done (submitted Entry)

The entry you saw before was the first draft to an entry to something called the Iowa Reading Association's Creative Writing Celebration. Granted, by annual celebration I assume that they just simply mean annual contest, but I simply had to make an entry, because I was certainly interested. For people in high school, the limits to their stories had to be a thousand words or less. When I got in the last whispers, I was over two hundred words over the limit.   Fortunately, I stayed after scho

My Work Here Is Done (first Draft)

Early in the morning, before the sun rose, the Macker family prepared its day. After taking a ridiculously scorching shower that used up all the hot water, Kraig, the second oldest and seventeen years of age, went to the dinner table and poured himself a bowl half full of Cheerios, then filled the other half with Life cereal. Although Life was his favorite, he had always mixed them both ever since he was eleven when he once joked that "Life and Cheer are fundamental opposites, therefore amalga

Rpg Chapters

I was thinking of my catastrophically long posts. I like literature. Joining TBRPGs is one of the ways that I practice and prepare myself for literature. I'm beginning to take this more seriously than ever now, especially with my own TBRPG up. I am getting a taste of writing.   Then it occurred to me: What if I labeled some of my longer posts with chapter names? Seriously, some of my posts could make chapters in some books. Perhaps not a chapter in a book such as Brisingr, but they are lon

Rpg Advertising

Many people have tried a large variety of ways of advertising their RPGs. Sometimes they try to give it a catchy title or description, sometimes they put it in their signature as a banner or large link. I have tried both of those, as well as making it look sophisticated and well thought out, but I am considering another method of advertising, one that I have only seen Robo use before.   I got the idea when I was reading the back of the book Brisingr (a filler, if you ask me). There, if I reme

I'm not allowed to go into much detail on this, but I will simply state that I support McCain and Palin today in this historic election. I have given quite a bit of thought into this.   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Romeo And Juliet Adaptation

Okay, this wasn't an essay of my own accord. It was something I had to do for school, not out of my spare time. However, as you all very well know, I have kind of established myself for being the type to overdo things and take them to the extreme. Surprisingly, this essay was supposed to be a simple compare and contrast, a simple theme to essays that I deem trivial and wonder why we still do it. Compare and contrast essays tend to get a bit generic, and I have looked at other people's work.

Judge Kraggh

As some of you might know, I am running for CoT RPG Judge. As will be necessary, my reasons will have to be clearly outlined so that people, particularly Kex, may decided for themselves to see whether I am appropriate for the job. In this entry, you will get a fairly good idea of what kind of person I am when it comes to this subject.   My Record   In this area, I have both my strengths and weaknesses. It is the main thing that most people bring up, and they are correct to believe it importan

Oxymoron

Writers like to use many literary tools. Metaphors and personification instantly come to mind. What probably isn't as commonly used, however, are oxymorons. The word can be broken down into "oxy", which means sharp, and "moron", which means dull. Rarely ever to we notice when these are applied to literature. Most often, we can see oxymorons used to describe irony. It makes sense; what better place to use an oxymoron than when something is the opposite of what it should be?   In all of lite

Is Ew Ready?

Our colony of BZP is ready to accept new sovereignty, and two emperors seek to annex it into their expanding empires.   Emperor Whenua has promised that, if crowned, he will fix the busy sever problem by eliminating avatars altogether. This is a monstrous move defies members' right to distinguish himself as an individual.   Emperor Whenua has also vowed to ban all banner use. To make things easier for the moderators, he says that he will remove signatures completely so that people won't be tem

Tbrpg Social Structures

This entry furthers, to some extent, the advice given in this blog entry by Robo.   A Text Based Role Playing Game, often abridged to TBRPGs and RPGs, is a unique "game" where people write about characters who are able to interact with each other. It's basically storytelling through more than one storyteller. Sometimes the storytellers know the direction of their stories, sometimes they don't.   RPGs have all the elements of a community, and like all communities, they often encounter the probl

Taking Portraits

Perhaps not everybody is familiar with this situation, and I'm sure that many of you might have many different opinions on it, but I'm sure that many of you at least are aware that some people simply refuse to cooperate with their photo takers. In a family portrait, someone might decide not to smile and perhaps even pose or look at the camera.   Their common reasoning for this is simple: photos are meant to capture memories. Why lie about my feelings in this photo? I might as well be honest i

Understood Friendship Policy

It's a common scenario for many BZPers. Strangers will commonly add you to their friends list, and they don't even explain why, let alone acknowledge you much afterwords, like you'd think that a person wanting to be your friend would. In the end, they are still strangers.   There's a tip in the CoT TBRPG guide that encourages RPG owners to require people to PM character sheets to them before joining. I don't know how, but it's somehow supposed to make it more likely for people to join the RPG

Respect Vs. Appreciation.

At first, I didn't think that there was anything wrong with what EmperorWhenua had said. It didn't occur to me until recently that there was a slight miswording in his logic.       The error was made in the second sentence. Respect should not be lost, no matter what. What mistake was made here is merely the misuse of the word "respect". Instead, the word "appreciation" should have been used. Thus, the result should have been this.       Remember, it is possible to respect someone while not
