"I don't know man, it's just too mainstream to just be clearing off islands all the time. I mean, talk about disrupting my latest eco gluten free ultra vegan steampunk organic underground garden with all the noise. Those poor tomatoes can't grow in such a disruptive and harmful environment." "Throwbots were better." DeeVee and I were talking. We decided the Bionicle universe needed some hipsterness.
EDIT (March 10): This mosaic is filled! Keep your eyes peeled for a possible second mosaic. Thank you, everyone! The BZP Mosaic Project is back for another year! Last year's project was an extreme success, and we have a great image for this year that will be displayed this summer at BrickFair 2011: This is where you can sign up to make pieces that are up for grabs this year. Each mosaic piece will be made of a 32x32 sized baseplate. At this point, please only claim one piece. If this one
One that would comfortably allow snacking for several people over the course of at least a week. Eat entire bag in less than two days. By myself. I wholeheartedly blame track for this.
I think that it was hilarious. There certainly will be better Superbowl halftime shows, and there certainly will be worse, but XLV's was hilarious because of just how out of control it became: Fergie: When you are combined with a bad microphone and trying too hard, you start to sound like Adam Sandler. You are a better singer than that. The people or person in control of the sound board: Some of this is partially your fault. Weird lagginess and sound issues shouldn't be happening at an event th
Snail helmet. That image link above is a design I did for a helmet design contest a local bike company was doing. Basically, design a helmet based off of a certain brand of helmet makers helmets (which often "feature whimsical, ironic, sometimes loud, other times just plain pretty designs"), and then we'll pick our favourite and the designer gets a $500 gift card to our store. Now, this was something I'd heard about a few weeks before, but forgot about until Friday, the day before it was due
Very late posting these to maj, but the mix of a backlog of editing and uploading many other photos and school/other priorities kept them from being posted until now. I think my only request is if you or anyone wants to use these photos for something (a photo of one of your MOCs, a photo of you, etc.) please message me and ask first. I generally don't mind, but if I start finding my photos being used without my permission, I'll be sad that people are stealing and thinking it's ok and I'll like
Watch out. In other news, I am supposed to do a documentary photography project for photojournalism. It is supposed to last for the next nine weeks (until the end of term). Each week I am supposed to shoot at a minimum either one 36 exposure roll of film or the equivalent 75 digital images. The instructions talk about how we are not supposed to choose a subject matter that is too grandiose, or requires traveling (given the amount of bad weather we've been having). My professor gave ideas such
DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS DUCKS We have our secret cue cards, we apparently have LEGO men cheering for us in the stands, we are ready, so let's win this!
My New Year's Eve (aka, the night of the warning signs) was spent at first in a venue with three of my friends. One of them had suggested the venue as it was all ages and one of the bands had graduated in the same high school class as us and they had been pretty good then so we figured it'd be cool to see them again. This was quite fine and dandy until the guy who took our money said: "Yeah, just head down the stairs to the basement. Careful, the stairs are slippery!" (warning sign #1) We pr
is awesome. Also, the minifig series wave 3 is pretty cool, but finding specific ones is difficult. But, two Toys 'R' Us stores later, we got a snowboarder and an elf! Buses also suck. Bleargh.
See ya! I won't have my computer with me until the 21th, and I don't know how much internet access I'll have until then. Home, let me come home. Home is wherever I'm with you.
At least, that's what the temperature was the other night at school. Luckily, I'm home for the next few days for Thanksgiving Break, where it is slightly only warmer, but hey, at least home has electric blankets. Also! Black ice on the roads is scary, and almost crashing is even scarier especially when the freeway going from school to home has tons of wrecks in ditches, and you see them and it's like "Hadthemediannotbeentherewhenthecarstartedtofishtailthatcouldhavebeenuslet'snotfreakoutnowok."
HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1 WAS SO GOOD AND OH MAN THE MIDNIGHT VIEWING WAS PHENOMENAL EXCEPT FOR THE WHOLE THIS TOWN IS DUMB AND PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW TO HAVE FUN OR GET INTO THINGS I HAVE PHOTOS THAT I WILL GET UP LATER AND OH MAN IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME. I got home at three AM. I am really tired and I have to work later at the gallery and start and finish two papers, a group project, and a photography assignment by Monday.
Oh c'mon man, we want you to get better so we can get that championship one of these years! It's eighth week. Things are crazy. I am slightly overwhelmed. Next Wednesday, I'm hitching a ride with one of my roommates to go home for Thanksgiving, but the entire side of the state that we're coming from is going to get absolutely pounded by storms and snow. Apparently there's a 50% of snow this weekend, and I'm doing a photo shoot for a gal who used to be on the track team and her family this S
My username on here has never made much sense. When I first joined, I think it was something like "MatoranHahli707". Way cheesy, way silly, rather mundane, and really accenting on the fact that I liked the number seven. Then, I changed it to "Nukaya Cloud Fire", mainly because it had a better ring to it. I have no idea where the name Nukaya is originally from. I know I found it in a book during middle school and wrote it in a notebook of quotes and cool names I had compiled while I was reading
pepperoni cheese spinach spinach spinach cheese turkey cheese bagel That was a good lunch. Also: some photography stuff! Pinhole camera: And from the movement/time assignment:
In a similar vein to Smeag's material things entry, I was dreaming about camera lenses last night. Unfortunately, unless I go with some really cheap used ones (but no guarantee that they'll be in as decent quality as the sellers claim), I can't afford anything like that photography-wise currently. Ah, someday.... In other news, I am in like crazy photo mode all the time now. It's kind of great. ALSO: pinhole camera photos, just as soon as I scan them in.
