Please tell me I'm not crazy

ok so waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2001, back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth (or at least the LEGO kind), I remember there was this game on the LEGO Dinosaurs website. Well, two games. One was a skeleton assembly game, where you'd put together skeletons and they'd show you the dinosaur in set form when you succeeded. You can see a (broken) link on the archive of the website. Its name was apparently Dino Dig.   The other, I don't remember the name of. In fact, all I remember of it is the gamep

Planets

I don't post much about my musical aspirations here (in fact the only thing related to it I can think of having posted is when I posted my Creeping In My Soul cover) so I figured I should make a post with a couple of songs I made a while ago to be part of a theoretical album themed around the eight planets and other space things. They're some of my best works to date so I figured why not?   Earth   Saturn   (I realize there's a pretty glaring issue with Earth that I haven't gotten around to fixi

Palaeontologists RUINED Dinosaurs!

Remember real dinosaurs? I don't mean that upright-walking bipedal garbage, I mean this. Giant iguanas are so much cooler than what palaeontologists have reduced dinosaurs to. Active lifestyles? As if they could possibly know that from JUST BONES. Sick of all the sensationalism in palaeontology.

Ozymandias

I met a traveller from an antique land Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed: And on the pedestal these words appear: 'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!' opinions on courtroom themes from PL vs PW

the English covers of PW1 music: much appreciated, though Cornered left something to be desired   Announce the Truth: Probably one of the best tracks. It had a good punch to it and really set the mood.   Pursuit: It was fine, but something about it felt a little…. off. It certainly wasn’t as good as Cornered, but is anything?   Objection: Mostly just a remix of Objection 2001, but that really worked considering they mainly used it as Phoenix’s theme.   Cross Examination: Before I played the game

Oops

It seems I ran my mouth a little in the Otoko topic without being quite certain what I was talking about. I asked my friend/acquaintance (the latter is probably closer to the truth but maybe if i hope enough it's the former) Tolkien (the living BZPower linguist, not the dead LotR linguist) if Latin counts as a dead language, and he said no. Guess I should have consulted him on the matter before causing a ruckus.   That being said, the crux of my main argument wasn't that Latin fits the exact lin

On the first day of Brickfair

hoo boy was today exciting! After a day and a half on assorted buses, I finally made it to BFVA for the first time. I met a large assortment of BZP friends, even going so far as to do what the youth these days call "hanging out" with some of them. I played Settlers of Catan and remembered why that game has almost destroyed my family (and as usual people ended up with far too many sheep). I took part in an early parts draft that ended as they usually do for me: I grabbed all those pieces that see

Oh, AFOLs...

Translation:     (I hold no strong opinions one way or another on the rerelease, but the entitlement that oozes from every word of this comment made me cackle.)

oh hey look I'm complaining about Jurassic World again imagine that

honestly, at this point, I'm not sure if I'm more disappointed that they didn't bother to do any actual dinosaur research in this dinosaur film or that this is once again just going to be the tried-and-true "scientists are evul" Frankenstein story that pretty much 75% of sci fi films (including the original Jurassic Park) already are.

New User Name

figured it had been a while since my last change, and I recently played FE:A, so why not? Besides, it complements my name on another site.   The only downside is my username no longer matches my custom member title, but I should be eligible for a new one because of my MOCs on the circuit anyway so it shouldn't trouble me for too long.

Neon Genesis Evongelion

I am fully aware that IfB is pretty much solely ripping off Pacific Rim but that cannot stop me from making Evangelion references everywhere   it may seem like I have proportions down pat but this only has decent proportions because I directly traced over Shinji Ikari.   The shading was mostly me, though. I'm actually pretty happy with that aspect. (besides the fact that I completely forgot to shade the chair, that is)   I don't know why I'm talking so much about the quality considering I drew t

Natural Selection

(you probably thought this was going to be a rant about how wonderfully true evolution is but don't worry it's not)   Last night, on a late-night whim (that also led to a somewhat hare-brained scheme related to starting the Crow Agricultural Revolution), I wrote a bit of a short horror story. I say it's a horror story but honestly I may have gone to subtle with it and ended up with a multi-paragraph description of evolution. Anyway, point is, I wrote a short story.   Here it is.   I'd appreciate

NaNoWriMo

doing it this year hopefully. I missed it last year but the year before that was my best WriMo yet.   I'm going to take another whack at the novel I've been fine-tuning in my head. It has aliens, robots, preachy environmentalism, all hallmarks of my writing.   I even have a couple of concept paintings I did to get some actual visual ideas of what's going on out there.   Last time, I failed because I had bland characters in an interesting story. This time, I've got a mildly better idea who some o

NaNo Day 2 (with excerpt)

I was so pleased with a bit of my writing today (that was mostly BZP appropriate, no less!) that I wanted to share it.   Granted, no one on this site has shown any particular interest in my novel, but hey, what the heck? Maybe someone will like it.
