went to a Caribou Coffee because i wasn't feelin' it at home and typed enough words for two days. Good to have a buffer for when the words aren't flowing quite as much. It also set up a good platform from which to launch a good chunk of the novel. The beginning should flow fairly well from here, even though most of it is likely terrible. I'd post a link to what i've written so far but it has swears in it because im a naughty girl. idk i guess i could ask a staff member if it's okay if i say it
it's two in the morning and i'm thinking about monotremes. like, dude, they seem so weird, but now that i think about it, they actually make complete sense with our current understanding of mammal evolutionary history. like, with our synapsid ancestors being rather reptile-like and egg-laying, it stands to reason that at one point mammals could have had fur and milk but still laid eggs. of course, that there are still monotremes today works just fine with that understanding; evolution is a tre
(im a little disappointed at the differences between the set and the movie, especially those that shouldn't have been too hard to incorporate. still, best amputee character ever)
tomorrow is my birthday. im turning 19 years old, which is to say, pretty darn old. im not ready to be even more adult than before. proving im not ready to be an adult, i'm about to splurge on a bricklink order as a birthday present to me. im probably going to look for pieces in colors like medium blue and orange in order to give myself pieces i can MOC with that aren't neutral colors with red highlights.
I built the sea cow on my bed like a moron so it kept breaking when i tried to take this pic with my webcam. luckily the only part i couldnt find was covered by my spare parts. it's a beautiful ship, though. my only complaint is the lack of gold octopus.
Most people on here probably don't know this, since I haven't really had any reason at all to mention it much, but I am an amputee. Not a major one, like an arm or a leg. Just a finger. (However, despite what my aunt says, that does not make me not an amputee.) The accident happened four years ago, on this very day. I don't tell the story much, partially because I'm unsure of how much of it I can tell, but it was a terribly traumatic event that still has its effects on my life. As a result, Ma
I've commented a couple times that I wished Onua's silver armor was gold to make his colors more cohesive, but I hadn't actually thought to do a test to see how that would look until now. Honestly? I'm impressed. Replacing the silver with gold makes his colors have a decent spread and layering. By cutting out the silver, his colors really are more cohesive as a whole. I understand their reasons for not making the piece in two colors when it's only used in one set, but I think it's unfortunat
Front Back Finally rendered some rough images of my current design for a LEGO Octodad set. The minifigs lack most of their printing, since I don't have nearly the skill to attempt it. The only printing applied is the face for the titular character. It is, unfortunately, a pretty bland design based on the aquarium, the setting for most of Dadliest Catch. The included minifigs are Octodad, Scarlet, Stacy, Tommy, two Marine Biologists, Joe, and the Chef. It's a lot, so I'd imagine if this mad
...not on a jet plane, sadly.
Well, unfortunately, just in time for BZP's anniversary week, I'm leaving for Colorado, so this is the only blog entry I'll have...
Goodbye, newbros with blogs, and enjoy it while it lasts.
EDIT:Oh yeah, and happy birthday BZP.
Fly on,

I have said many a word of how Jurassic World seeks to bring dinosaur science of the 1980's to the public. I apologize, for I have spoken in error. They're going back further than that. That's right, it's a tail-draggin' dinosaur, right out of the early 1900s, for your viewing pleasure. Mind you, this tail posture is impossible for Stegosaurus (with one of the most compelling reasons for this being that its cloaca would be crushed), and has been known to be so by palaeontology since the D
I don't want to come across as a curmudgeon, but when you're writing a book that's intended to be educational, the details really count. So when you have a theropod missing its primaries on its hands or this wrinkly, shrinkwrapped monstrosity, that's disappointing. It's bad enough that Jurassic World treats science the way a two-year-old would treat Grandma's ashes if left alone with them; to have a book created for it that claims to be educational fall short of this goal is even worse. Hone
Ok, I've made an entry about Jurassic Park before, and that one was all about the dinosaurs and the inaccuracies therein (though I left out several things, such as the Velociraptors' wrists being incorrect; they would need to be broken to be like that) but now I feel it's time to post about why I don't like the film as a whole. Because while it may be fueled by dino-nerd rage, there's more to it than that. The message of Jurassic Park is supposed to be that man shouldn't play God and that the
Okay so you know the LEGO scorpions? Ok, so you take two of those, and you put an eyelet screw in each scorpion's stud hole. Then, through the eyelet screw, you hook an earring hook thingy. Ta-da! scorpion earrings. just a little idea i had because i've been ordering a bunch of scorpions off Bricklink on impulse. I haven't actually done it yet, though.
ive been on this site for over six years do i qualify to be a grumpy old coot who grumbles about the way things used to be "back in my day you couldnt talk about youtube! we could only talk about #######."
Protector of Jungle bow is nice aesthetically but a pain to pose. He can hardly even hold it like he’d be comfortable aiming. lanky limbs are offset by the Liefield-esque chest. A slimmer torso would have made a much more sprightly Protector Too little solid green; I’d rather have 3/4 of the trans green shells be solid green, with the one under the add-on solid. the trans green should be an accent, not the main color, imo still salty about using Bright Green over classic Dark Green Prote
I made a grave error in counting for the last question, meaning unless you made the same counting mistake as I did, none of the answers would be correct. Depending on what you count as an individual set, the actual answer can be anywhere from 19 to 22 (24 if you're also willing to add in the two foreign Piraka Kaita sets) so I apologize for not double-checking my numbers before publishing the quiz. Unfortunately, it appears once a quiz has been published it cannot be edited, at least not by me.
