A Couple Of Tentative Ideas And A Third One That Could Be The End Of All Of It

1. A BZPower playlist for my megaproject-in-progress, the BIONICLE Rock Concert.   2. Me doing an audio book of one of Greg's serials or some fan fiction. I love reading aloud.   3. Getting rid of all my stuff, dropping all projects, and disappearing for a while to roam Europe and maybe some other places, eventually resurfacing back in BC, Canada.   I need to do some serious dowsing and card/rune work to find out whether the third idea is what I should go for, and how fully.

I'm (definitely) Not Dead

Merely hiding. Not by choice, though. I've lost my computer, my phone, and my camera. Hope to get them back when I visit the police station tomorrow. We'll see, we'll see. In the meantime, I've come up with another small series of original character MOCs. I'm quite pleased with them, and if the person who found my stuff downtown is honest (and I have a feeling he or she is), I'll have my camera back soon and you'll have some new LEGO pictures to look at.   LOL. I only found out the durn laptop

I Feel Ten Kilos Lighter. ^_^

So today I found out that I am, in fact, going to be receiving income very shortly from one of the sources I mentioned yesterday. The other two will take a little longer to kick in, but they, too, are coming, thanks to my taking command of the situation today. (LIKE A BANDIT.) As an added bonus, with the help of a nice lady at the tax office, I got the back-tax monkey off my back that's been there for months just because of my phobia of paperwork and bureaucracy.   Now I'm just fervently hopi

The Ghost Of Future Christmas Past

Mixed Choir Twinkle just gave its first Christmas concert of the season. The church was packed, more so than at the same event last year. We performed together with a children's choir and a few soloists. The highlight of our choir's portion was a cantata, "Come, Lord Jesus," with words by a well-known poet who was sitting in the audience, and music composed by our own director. It was rather an awesome experience to perform it for the first time. We get to do it again this Sunday.   The childr

The Crashing Realization

I was counting on receiving income from three different sources right around now. None of them have come through. Now I have no money.             Oh.   Crud.   ...           Time to engage those sources and SHAKE 'EM DOWN LIKE A BANDIT.*   * Said shaking down will involve more Paperwork, Talking to Bureaucrats, and Waiting. >.<

Protip

Avoid exposure to all glowing LCD displays, including computer monitors and cell phones, for two hours before going to bed in the evening. The light from these displays suppresses and disrupts your body's production of melatonin, the "sleep hormone."   I wish I'd known this a long time ago. It also explains why it's possible to stay up all night in front of the computer and not feel sleepy, merely sleep-deprived.

Sourdough

I bake almost all my own bread these days. I use a sourdough method, which gives the bread a deliciously tangy flavour and significantly reduces the need for added yeast.   The sourdough method is actually very simple and requires only a minimal amount of effort. The easiest and fastest way to get started is to take a bit of ready sourdough starter from a friend, like I did. You can also take a piece of store-bought sourdough bread, grind it into crumbs, and add water and flour. I've even made

Kiina!

Now with waist articulation!     - I'm Kiina, a Glatorian. One of the best!     - Bare-knuckle boxing is always a good way to blow off steam. Any challengers?     - Hmmm. . .     *Grab*   - Hey, you!     - Waugh!   - Where's Tarix at? And what did you do with my morningstar, you sneak?   - I haven't touched your stupid morningstar. And Tarix just left. Put me down!     - Humph.   - Sheesh.

New Cryoshell Single

Now available in the iTunes Store. I like it. It's got more of an epic sound than either of the previous versions.

A Message For T L C

(BUMPED)   LEGO.com's email form only allows 2000 characters, so I've sent this to Black Six for him to pass on.     Let it not be said that BCii doesn't keep his promises.   EDIT: Oh, and I might as well reprint my initial reaction to the big news here.

Pointless Mundane Chatter Re: Little Details Of My Life That No One Cares About

1. I visited the library again today.   2. My new favourite way to choose what CDs to borrow is to scan the rows and pick out whatever catches my fancy based on a minimal 1-to-5-second glance.   3. Do You Ever Wonder. . .

. . . if some of the people we label as being insane are actually just tuned into a different reality that exists simultaneously to the accepted consensus reality? If that's the case, then our condemnation of these people says more about us than it does about them. It is a symptom of our fear of the unknown.   Actually, I'm starting to be convinced on a deeper and deeper level that we really do create our own reality through our beliefs about what is real. Our perceptions aren't really a one-to

2012

= disaster Removed.. Not even well-made disaster Removed.. Just... BAD disaster Removed. We aren't going to use words like that when describing a movie, ok? -Kohaku.   I mean, this is just from what I've heard. You won't catch me going to see that film. Really. Thanks, but no thanks.   Tl;dr: HOLLYWOOD CONSPIRACY TO STEAL OUR SOULZ.   EDIT: Oops. Sorry, Kohaku. I wasn't thinking.

Up Lol

The part where Carl's watching TV and there's an infomercial on, except you only hear the audio. I didn't get the joke at all. But then today, just by chance, I'm watching a Best of [Failsite] video that shows that exact same failed infomercial.   PIXAR wins an Internet.

Epic Setup

If it has to be one side or the other, then I'm with Brutaka. But much as I disagree with Helryx's way of thinking, I hope Greg comes up with a non-sucky way to resolve the showdown that doesn't involve a massacre. :/ I'm a little puzzled as to why Axonn is in favour of killing their world. But Tuyet being on the right side for the wrong reasons is perfect.   Tren Krom in Lewa Nuva's body is my favourite character gimmick in a while. Possibly even cooler than upgradified Brutaka.

Potentially Useful/annoying Quirk Of The Blog Hosting Software

If I go to "Entry Options > Edit" and toggle "Add entry as: Published" from there, it doesn't bump the entry. While this may save me the trouble of adding original dates back in, there is a funny speedbump in the IPS database that throws up an error message when I hit "Submit changes."   Just FYI in case you ever need to make use of this little quirk - or avoid it.

Back From The Dead And Why This Blog Died In The First Place

Some of you have taken the time to express concern over the sudden vandalization of my blog and profile. Thank you for your concern. No, I was not hacked, fortunately. That was all done by me. Or, shall I say, me under the influence of something as dangerous as any harmful psychoactive substance: severe depression. It was what I might describe as an attempted overdose; I wanted to feel as miserable as I could, and all that black energy that I fed into myself demanded an outlet. Hence my blacked-

Suspecting The Worst

Mouseover texts are still flashing for a microsecond and disappearing. This bodes ill.   Update: Looking at software called WipeDrive. That should do the trick. DIE MALWARE DIE! Update II: WipeDrive is top-notch, conforms to the Department of Defense standard, and costs $39.95. Active@ KillDisk is free and should be plenty good enough.   Update III: Just as I thought: wiping the hard drive does nothing. Am now considering going hardcore and flashing the BIOS. As soon as I figure out how to

Evacuate And Start All Over

That's what I've had to do with my computer. What a chore.   It turns out that the Trojan horse was indeed wreaking its destruction deeper than the level of the OS itself. I figured that out when my keyboard and mouse started going all balky and fritzy under Ubuntu. I have now backed up my files, reformatted the hard drive, reinstalled Windows, and begun the process of restoring everything else. Ubuntu is next.   If that didn't kill the sucker, I don't know what will.
