I knew this latest Epics contest was going to turn out some gems, but I never expected anything on the level of Tolkien's entry, Unknowledge. READ IT OR REGRET NOT READING IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. So there.

I was counting on receiving income from three different sources right around now. None of them have come through. Now I have no money.
Oh.
Crud.
...
Time to engage those sources and SHAKE 'EM DOWN LIKE A BANDIT.*
* Said shaking down will involve more Paperwork, Talking to Bureaucrats, and Waiting. >.<
This entry was originally posted with the title "What Happens When Jotsio, Jotsio's Better Half, and BCii Get Together."
However, due to off-topic comments (no less welcome for all that, I assure you -- if anyone is to blame, it is I), this is now also the place where you can comment on the new sidebar art.
Just in case anyone's curious, here's a brief rundown of the elements of the design.

...At, least, that's what it feels like.
I'm talking about the fierce glow of self-assurance and determination that vitalized me four days ago. Then, I strode like a man on a mission, unstoppable, clear of eye. Today, I am a husk, shuffling along, confused, afraid.
I need help. Come this weekend, I will seek it out and be healed. The Project must go on.

Built her all in one go. That's rare for me -- my Lego creations often evolve for weeks, months, even years, before I'm satisfied with them. I could get used to this more intense, get-it-done-and-over-with approach, at least with simple Toamods. It'd at least boost my MOC output.
Sorry, guys, I'm not shooting any pictures yet. I have to wait until I have spare time and daylight together. Thursday at the earliest.
I made another custom mask for her, too. !!! X-acto and Pasco-fix fun fun fu
I am shocked and saddened to read of the passing of Nate Nielson, known by the alias "nnenn," on April 13th. The man was a legend among AFOLs and his presence will be sorely missed.
As fate would have it, on that same day I was mysteriously prompted to take the photo below. It shall now serve as my tribute to the late, great master nnenn.
May he rest in peace.
Ever wonder about UFOs? You don't hear as much about them these days, but back in the 1950s, sightings were commonplace and widely reported in the mainstream media. All kinds of rational explanations have been given for the observed phenomena, but those who've witnessed a UFO maintain that what they saw was not a weather balloon, a meteor, or anything else of this mundane world.
I don't care if you're a believer, cautious believer, skeptic, or non-believer. Just check out this story. If the i
For some time now, I've been a man in search of his Life Purpose. Well, if you want to look at it another way, I've been at it all my life. A person's Life Purpose isn't always something they're conscious of -- sadly, some people appear to be completely lost when it comes to defining theirs. But everyone has one, there's no question about it to my mind.
Life Purpose is a many-faceted thing. The most basic, universal element of it, I find, is just to experience life! This is very simple, yet m
Lately I seem to have been seeing eagles / eagle-like birds of prey a lot, in both my waking and dreaming life. The same goes for the peacock / phoenix. I feel this may have meaning. My dream book says the eagle represents freedom of one's inner feelings and the flight of lofty thoughts, whereas the peacock or phoenix is a sign of good fortune in all areas of life.
By the way, check out the two birds in my avatar. This is pure (probably meaningless and far-fetched) coincidence.
I'm sick and tired of accomplishing nothing being self-defeating being spiritually restless being lonely for no reason being subject to every little external force in my life feeling like half a man not having a clear direction not being the person I would like to be. I have decided to start being proactive. I want to change.
This isn't the first time I've attempted to grow as a person. The first try went bust after three months and I'm not entirely sure how to prevent the same thing happening
I took the liberty of renaming my blog. Because I could. Because Finnish is such a cool language. Because real hedgehogs don't live on mountains. Because, if I want to scale the mountain, I have to get up the hill first. That's right. Call me low on ambition, but right now I have trouble thinking of life in terms of a mountain. It's too daunting an image. I've got to start small.
I've taken the first small steps towards conquering my inner ills. I visited a psychiatric nurse last Friday and wi
1. A BZPower playlist for my megaproject-in-progress, the BIONICLE Rock Concert.
2. Me doing an audio book of one of Greg's serials or some fan fiction. I love reading aloud.
3. Getting rid of all my stuff, dropping all projects, and disappearing for a while to roam Europe and maybe some other places, eventually resurfacing back in BC, Canada.
I need to do some serious dowsing and card/rune work to find out whether the third idea is what I should go for, and how fully.
I bake almost all my own bread these days. I use a sourdough method, which gives the bread a deliciously tangy flavour and significantly reduces the need for added yeast.
The sourdough method is actually very simple and requires only a minimal amount of effort. The easiest and fastest way to get started is to take a bit of ready sourdough starter from a friend, like I did. You can also take a piece of store-bought sourdough bread, grind it into crumbs, and add water and flour. I've even made
On account of the boats being dry-docked for winter.
Excuse me while I work out my disappointment through music and breathing exercises.
Also, it's been snowing like crazy here all day. Not looking forward to winter. The last one seemed like it'd never end! I miss balmy Vancouver....
within my being
no boundaries
a galaxy
or a speck of dust
can you see me
can you face yourself
forgive the hypocrisy
make it all
right again
break what you thought
and let it be, 'cause
you can't control a thing
resist, hold back, flee
back to the dark
in your imagined self
rejected and alone
want to die from the pain
is that who you really are
or is there something more
something real
something worth being born
and living for
your body's going to rot
and you'll leave it b
Curiosity, they say, killed the cat. I'm a curious guy -- incurably curious. So when some dude (or chick, just as likely) posts a topic asking, "What is a tone 3 jaguar," I bite. Turns out the subject is the Tzolk'in ("day count") calendar of the ancient Mayans, and "tone 3 Jaguar" is the "vibe" of the person's birthdate. The Tzolk'in calendar has 20 different glyphs and 13 tones for a possible 260 combinations. A few clicks later, with the help of a nifty online portal, I've computed my own per
