Why yes, I am on a teensy bit of a Neil Gaiman kick right now. I really ought to be finishing this scholarship essay that is due tomorrow later today, but here I am. I did manage to finish my main entry for the annual FOSDOAP, so huzzah for getting something done! Actually, it seems like I'm doing everything except this essay. My Bionicle Rhapsody is almost exactly 2/3 complete!
How are you all this fine evening?
1. Mountain Dew flavored jelly beans.
2. Whatever those oval stickers that have abbreviations for place names on them are called, only with a certain message on them to indicate how much they irk/confuse me.
3. GEEK CATCHPHRASE. With categories like comic books and novel-books and sci-fi television and so forth. On second thought, maybe there should be entirely separate ones for each. Regardless, I need to look into this.
4. More Firefly and Sandman stuff. This includes good cosplay of the af
I had every intention of photographing your Rahkshi today, but circumstances conspired against me in a most conspiratorial fashion. To wit: I spent much of the morning trying to get some good honest work done on scholarship applications, with the afternoon devoted to (among other things) folding laundry, looking at Sandman fanart and photographing Rahkshi, but then my mom gets this call saying she was supposed to help at the homeschool band's nursery today, but she forgot and now she has somebod
New subtitle, sig, and av. I've been rewatching Firefly and researching some astronomy stuff, which together account for all of that plus the fact that I decided to wear my cunning hat today despite the rather nice temperatures of late.
I am becoming increasingly bored with and disillusioned by the Internet, which I take as a good thing. Maybe now I can actually do my homework in a timely fashion!
Speaking of schooling, I've decided on Benedictine College in Kansas as my institution of cho
Being a culinary maverick and making some explosive Chex Mix.
Inspiring and uplifting music of various sorts.
Reading a very moving and thought-provoking book.
Spending time with wild and crazy little siblings.
A girl smiling at you.
Being reminded that you are loved.
And of course, funny pictures on the Internet:
That, against all the generic praise spam in the BBC, constant reminders that IE does not have Firefox's keyboard shortcuts, physical ailments, and the whole gam
I'm in your base MOCing your dudes:
Sort of saving my 500th entry for that, so yeah. Life has been interesting lately. I may or may not have watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show last night. It was an experience, I tell you what. My brain is pretty much fried. Not necessarily as a result of the aforementioned experience, but then again, maybe so.
Hooray for most things!
The enemy's gate is down.
And no, this is not unnecessarily cryptic. You know why? Because not only have I actually indicated that it is meant to be a cryptic reference, but if you don't recognise that line then IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY AND WILL REMAIN SO UNTIL YOU READ THOSE BOOKS.
And then I get punched by Batman. One's sci-fi, the other's not. Oh yeah.
So! Life! It is fairly busy! Not least of which because I have been and will be flying out to visit and compete for full-ride schol
The following is an unretouched excerpt from my NaNoWriMo piece that I have good reason to believe was written at least partly in my sleep. The other part was in a state of extreme fatigue resulting in slightly increased coherence, and the very first part was a quote taken from an IM convo that I inexplicably wanted to get into the story somehow but ended up sticking in at a random place to make my word count quota. Somebody mentioned dream sequences as a method of padding one's story, so I made
Because either something's wrong with my internet browser (unlikely), or there has not been a single post there in the three-plus hours since I closed this topic. This is most unusual in my experience.
My day (day being defined as a 24-hour period extending from 12:00 ante-meridian to 11:59 post-meridian GMT -08:00 (PST)) so far:
I finished reading a book by Stephenie Meyer that was not a complete affront to God and Man. There were still some unsavory bits (because, you know, lying about your age is totally okay when you're in lurrrve!), but it was better than Twilight (as advertised), raised some interesting points to think about, and helped influence the really long and complicated (read:
Totally needs to be made if it hasn't been already. Maybe I'll do that. Yeah.
In other news, I would totally change my name to Miaulements if I could.
Then I would totally stop overusing the word 'totally.'
Which is sad, because I finally made an Astral Bunny Orb for him:
...And then put it on a body for my own intents and purposes. >:3
Please excuse the subpar photography; I was a bit rushed with all this. This right here isn't even all of it.
As is usual, I was invited to and attended the annual birthday party for a young lady of our acquaintance.
As is usual, I danced with a lot of girls and now have very sore legs and feet as a result.
As is usual, I had an excellent time with my friends especially and other people in general.
As is unusual, but very happiful, I danced rather a lot with a certain lovely lady and also talked with a British accent most of the night for some reason. Indeed, I am happiful. Yay!
Part of me t
