ЅЅⅭ8 People's Choice Poll Update

I've determined not to look at the polls until later tonight. I don't want to keep checking them every quarter hour to see if my entry is in the lead or not -- the last time I checked was yesterday and Ignition was leading, but only by one vote.   Wow, is this poll suspenseful. *crosses fingers*

I Got Brisingr!

While out Christmas shopping, I was allowed to buy a book for myself. Choices of One by Timothy Zahn was too expensive (twenty-seven dollars, plus tax), so I bought Brisingr by Christopher Paolini instead. I have high hopes for this book, seeing as I not only enjoyed the first two but passed up a Timothy Zahn book to buy Brisingr instead.

Of "Roundabout" and Minifigure Series 7

On the way home from returning albums I checked out from the library a week ago, "Roundabout" appeared on a radio station that played oldies. I didn't even know Yes appeared on the radio anymore. Another Yes song started playing afterward, but I didn't recognize it.   When I came home, I was treated to my mother's surprised face when she found a package to a Legolover-361 in the mail. My prize for winning the Music category of the Flash Fiction Marathon -- for that was the package -- was a sava

A New Year

I'm four hours and nineteen minutes early (my internet shuts off for the night before midnight), but accept my early sentiments for a happy and safe New Year's celebration and new year!

Something Funny

In every message forum I've joined apart from this one and another, I'm a staff member of some kind. Of course, those other forums aren't as big as BZPower, but still.   I've pondered trying more seriously to report news to BZPower, but at the moment I don't have enough time. At the moment I'm satisfied with making sure my proto count doesn't go down a few notches and daydreaming about purchasing Lifetime Premier Membership.

Sprite Kit Posted

The Nova V2 sprite kit has been sitting on my hard drive for a long, long time, so I thought, Why not post it on BZPower and let sprite critics tear it apart?   Okay, you caught me: I didn't quote my thought process verbatim. However, that was the gist of my reasoning behind posting it, so if you want to provide a rusty spriter some pointers, check out the topic.

Ambage Write-off Story -- Theme: Change

Metamorphosis   Metamorphosis applied to butterflies, so why not humans?   Susanne Reyes, after all, had positively blossomed since John Wainwright had last seen her. She had been fourteen, he fifteen. That was seven years ago now, but teenage Susanne’s short, messy hair, braces, and haphazard juxtaposition of pimples with freckles had been ingrained in John’s mind ever since his family had moved from Arkansas to Colorado after many tearful farewells — as far as John had known, that was Susanne.

Re:Off Topic Culture

It's about time we got an off-topic creative forum. Thank you, staff!   I'll report my old COT short story topics for moving pronto. If I can finish a story I planned to write for Christmas, I'll post that by Christmas Eve.

Wherein My Reading of Uncle Tom's Cabin Is Concluded

I began reading Uncle Tom's Cabin last week and finished this morning. 'Twas a brilliant read (despite its overabundance of commas), one deserving of the title "classic". Its writing style, which reminds me of other old books such as Black Beauty and The Wind in the Willows, will greatly influence my writings in the near future.

RPG Contest 26

If you're interested in deciding the next fan-made Bionicle RPGs to be run, do vote. My entry, Loophole, is in this poll. If you have the time, read through the entries; if mine isn't one of your favorites in that poll, I won't mind, but I will nevertheless appreciate any support and / or feedback directed my way.

Instrumental Album Progress

Those of you who have read my blog in the past may know that a while back, I endeavored to create an instrumental album using only synthesized instruments. My plan is well underway; I currently have thirty-nine minutes of music assembled in a rough tracklist. However, those thirty-nine minutes are partitioned among twenty-two tracks, most of which are under two minutes long.   I'm planning to cut the less important tracks in the album, expand some of the remaining shorter ones, and give a last-m

MΟⅭer's Block

Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I have a jumble of black Bionicle peices sitting in my personal Lego bin, but I have no idea what to do with them.   EDIT: I'll try to MOC Ena, substituting her golden Kualsi for a golden Hau, but I'd still appreciate some ideas and / or exercises to get around MOCer's Block if I have it again.

Fare Thee Well, Blog

As BZPower's Anniversary Week is drawing to a close, I'd like to say thank you to those of you who have read my few pitiful blog entries. Since BZPower's advertising policy has changed, and since I'm looking to start an off-site blog anyway, I'll probably link to the blog on BZPower once it has been created.   In the immortal words of Tigger, "TTFN -- ta-ta for now!"   (P.S. Is it just me, or is it funny to see the amount of BZPower members saying, "Welp, can't link to my other sites here!"?)

So I Want To Moc

I'm feeling the thirst to MOC.   I'm thinking of building some sort of robotic warrior, perhaps to gain experience using System parts in conjunction with Bionicle, as I remain woefully unversed in that field of MOCing. Preferably it'll be black, gray, and silver, but that's liable to change.   Thoughts? Suggestions?

NaΝoⱲriΜo Update

Yes, as long as I still have a blog, I will be making a habit of posting these updates.   I'm three thousand words behind schedule. I wrote two thousand words over yesterday and this morning, but I didn't write two thousand words today. I've lost one and a half of the free days I expected to have near the end of November; if I want to reach the fifty thousand word mark I have to work harder.   (I bet my parents would rather I work harder on homework, lol.)

AWOL for Christmas

For the duration of tomorrow, I will be offline. I don't want to sully my Christmas experience by spending half the day on the internet; no, I intend to fully experience the holiday: watching a film or two, sitting by the fireplace, listening to Christmas music, and spending time with my pres- er, family.   A merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good haul- er, night!

Taming RРĠ Contest 22

Yes, I just had to use the above title for this blog entry.   The RPG Contest 22 polls have been posted! Be sure to vote in both polls; my entry, Techna, can be found in Preliminary Poll Kermit. Be sure to read through all the entries in the contest -- there are a lot of good RPGs.
