AAAAAAAAHHHHH I was going to get a New 3DS XL, but obtaining all four of these is my #1 priority. They are so beautiful and I cannot not have all Zelda amiibo.
"You chug your smoothies?" "No, but I couldn't think of a better word to describe what you wouldn't want to do with peanut butter and strawberry jelly."
So I'm Dungeon Master for a D&D group now. (Some people wanted to join, so our old DM lead their group, and I, having conveniently and spectacularly died, DM'd our old group.) Our bard summoned a cello above a paladin. The paladin succeeded in his reflex save, and the cello slammed into the cold hard floor of the temple, shattering. The party proceeds to blow up the temple. Five minutes later, all action halts as we all realize that none of us made a "drop the bass" joke.
So my Wii has been making a progressively louder humming/buzzing noise when reading disks for a good while now, and it's finally gotten to the point where I'm pretty sure it's either damaging the disks or just having trouble reading them. It looks like there is a pretty easy fix if I can disassemble the Wii... which I can't, thanks to the sunken tri-screws. I need this thing fixed by tomorrow for a party. Any suggestions?
Does anyone know of any documents- TLG demographic research, scholarly or semi-scholarly articles, surveys, whatever- about how AFOLs interact with younger LEGO users? Anything about AFOLs being involved in public events, FIRST LEGO League, etc.; or anything about parents who love LEGO fostering a love of LEGO in their kids? Barring that, anything about how parent or adult hobbyists interact with children to encourage that hobby. I'm writing a research paper about how TLG, AFOL subcultures,
I finally bred that perfect Torchic that had been evading me for weeks... and then got a shiny Porygon on Wonder Trade. Trace, 5IV, everything but defense, not hacked. I think that's the second shiny I've received there, the other being a Leavanny, and that looks almost identical to its normal form.
I needed some things, so I built them out of LEGO. It's cheaper that way, until you need the parts later. A hat rack. A deck box. (Green-Blue counter multiplying deck, by the way.) An Amiibo Stand. Sensor bar holder. In other news, I'm in the middle of making some changes to my LEGO storage, which is not the ideal time for a really cool BBCC to pop up. Ah well.
I love a lot of things, but it's always been really convenient to tell people that my obsessions are LEGO and The Legend of Zelda. Then I watched some Doctor Who, and now I have to explain an unwieldy LEGO/Zelda/Doctor Who trio. Life is hard. And D&D, kinda Then people see my Franklin Badge and there's another franchise involved
So OCRemix just released a really cool album you should all download. It's even better than the trailer makes it sound. It was released yesterday and I've already listened to Peach's House Party far too many times.
Also, Link and Ganondorf were featured on the front page, which is pretty neat! If you haven't, you can still check out the topic here.
Last night I turned in my final undergrad assignment before getting my BS in Mechanical Engineering. It was a 100-page research document entitled "Motivations, Values, and Creative Processes of Participatory LEGO Bionicle Fan Community," which feels like an appropriate way to cap things off. Might try to get it published. We'll see if I have the motivation.
Awsome Games Done Quick is happening here, speedrunning games for charity! You should totally watch it. Check out the schedule, I can almost guarantee they'll be running a game you're interested in. I'm incredibly hyped for friday night.
Nintendo should make Toad compatible with SSB4 like all of the other Amiibo. Tapping the Amiibo would unlock a Peach figure player... Except the only move she knows is her neutral special.
Come Friday, I will have a Wii U. I currently have a Wii with game saves and virtual console titles on it. The Wii does not read disks. I may make further efforts to fix it, but at this point it's looking pretty dismal. I would like to transfer the game saves onto the Wii U so that I can use them. We wouldn't want hundreds of hours of Super Paper Mario to go to waste, now would we? The issue is, I want to keep my virtual console games on the Wii so I can play them with the Gamecube controll
I asked for game suggestions a bit back. Now I'd like help being exposed to good electronic music, and guidance on how to browse electronic music and find stuff I like. I'm pretty into videogame remixes, which means that while I'm pretty familiar with what remixes are out there I'm also always looking for new ones. Mostly I'm looking for original pieces. I'm horrible with musical terminology and musical genres, but I think I prefer more melodic stuff? But every now and again a heavy dubstep
