Look At The Mob Leaving Yankee Stadium

It seems there is a mass exodus from Yankee Stadium in New York after Nelson Cruz hit that two-run bomb.   It's like the Rangers are getting revenge on the Yankees bullpen for what happened in Game 1 to the Texas bullepen.   Plus, unless the Yanks make a seven-run comeback, the Rangers will only need one more win to head to their first World Series in franchise history, and even if the Yankees tie the series up later, they'd have to face Cliff Lee again.   Advantage clearly belongs to Texas.

LEX LEWTHOR

I've been sporting superhero stuff for a while so I thought I'd switch to supervillain for now. I considered Zod, but I really like Luthor. Particularly the image in the banner.

LewaLew, Mild-Mannered Reporter for BZP

In case you haven't heard about the Staff Realignment, the Reference Team is being disbanded, and those of us who are alive are being moved to new groups, namely TLH to FA and I to Reporter.   On the one side, I'm sorry to see the reference staff go. I still think we could have done more, even with our tough schedules in Real Life. On the other hand, my final year on BZP will be spent in a new position, and I think it'll be fun. We'll see.   P.S. If anyone remembers how to find the staff noob ba

Less Time Available

Sorry about not being on BZPower quite as much as usual. Since I got my job I have almost zero time to use the computer. So little that I wasn't even able to write anything about the Pujols signing. And so little that this is all I have the time to say right now.   Just thought it would be a good idea to explain my absence.     Maybe this is how all the other RKs disappeared.

Less than Two Months Left on BZP

Sometime in August, I will be leaving BZPower, as I will be starting college in September. Unfortunately, there's a lot of stuff on the BZP bucket list I posted in this blog a while back that isn't going to happen, but that top item I am absolutely determined to finish before then. Sometime before that point in August, I will also be retiring from the staff--perhaps in the first or second week, but I don't actually know for sure yet. I'll see what happens.

L C S Matchups Set

American League Championship Series: New York Yankees @ Texas Rangers   For the first time in Washington Senators/Texas Rangers history, a postseason series have been won. If they win another series this year. they will reach their first World Series in franchise history. The primary obstacle? The Champions of the World Series of 2009, the New York Yankees.   Joe Girardi's squad is fighting to raise Girardi's number again, this time from 28 to 29, as motivation towards their next goal. Given t

New York @ Texas   I actually had a prediction that would have been a shocker to most folks.   Rangers win in 5.   True, it requires three more Rangers wins in a row, but it does not seem all that inaccurate. My prediction was based on the pitching matchups they had. I fully believed that C. J. Wilson could, and would, outpitch C. C. Sabathia and win Game 1. After that, Colby Lewis could definitely handle the Yankees longer than Phil Hughes could handle the Rangers. Then you have Cliff Lee in

Kiina + Batman =

This guy:     This is part of something Stan Lee has done with the NHL, creating superheroes based off of all the NHL teams. This one is based on the Vancouver Canucks. Anyhow, I thought he looked a lot like Batman, and my sister thought the fins made him look like Kiina, so I posted it here for the lulz.

Jimmy Bond

Ignoring my own opinions on the subject, this entry is about an article I read concerning the possibility of a gay James Bond. As in the character being gay, not the actor who plays him. It also mentions one actress discussing the possibility of a future female or black James Bond.   I have never watched any Bond movies or read any Bond books, but from what I know about the series, though there are several actors portraying Bond, they are all performing the same man. I can live with that. I wish

Jeter Deal And What's Up In Orlando

Derek Jeter's new contract with the New York Yankees was made official today during the Winter Meetings, and once again I ask--Did anyone think he wouldn't stay in pinstripes?   Meanwhile in the Winter Meetings, the Yankees and Rangers continue to meet with Cliff Lee's agent. The 2009 NL Manager of the Year Jim Tracy is recovering from a collapse in the lobby of the Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort, home of the Winter Meetings. The Red Sox, Yankees, and Angels meanwhile all are targeting Carl Cra

Internet, You Confuzzle Me

People complained incessantly about motion controls being forced upon them in the previous generation... So now they complain about Nintendo not utilizing touchscreen controls extensively for Wii U games.   Last I checked, Internet, you liked good old-fashioned analogs and buttons. But I guess you like complaining more.

In Spite Of My Negativity Over The World Series...

If the Rangers start playing like the Rangers we saw in the ALCS right now in Game 3, and keep going, we could be seeing a rather miraculous comeback, and some World Series-level baseball. Texas currently has all three of their home games remaining, and they have the advantage of playing American League ball while there. IMO, they need to sweep their home games to have a shot, and here's what has to happen:   1) Colby Lewis must hold onto his ALCS form. 2) The bullpen must get a hold of themse

In Defense of Superman v. Batman (Cuz it needs to be said)

Or: In Which LewaLew Impersonates Kraagh VS.   Of course, I already posted this in Kraagh's Blog, but it needs to be said louder.   I. Relatability   A. Inherited Powers Batman is the richest guy in the world. And he inherited all of his assets. The intensive training he underwent would be impossible without all that dough. Superman's abilities were inherited genetically. Both were born with great power. Batman's was just more indirect.   B. Clark Kent v. Bruce Wayne C

Ice Skating Is Fun

I went ice skating today. Something I don't have much experience doing. I fell three times, but the most painful part is a bruise on my knee that I got when I was following my brother to the bleachers. As he stepped over, his blade got me right under the kneecap, and I have since warned him that he shall be beaten down before the week is over.   As a side note the Chicago Blackhawks are beating their biggest rivals, the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 in the third period. Unfortunately, my mother comman

I'm So Happy...

Only ONE MLB expert said that he picks the Cubs to win the division.   Why am I so happy about that? Two reasons.   1) The fact that ANYONE picked the Cubs.   2) The fact that the same amount of experts picked the Reds to win it last season.

I Was So Naive

Back in 2006, I was ten years old and joined BZPower mainly to play text-based RPGs. The first one I joined was The Academy, and Dr. Bionicle accidentally overlooked my character's profile at first, so I reposted the character three months later with a new description:     And I meant for it to be a legitimate profile as far as I remember.

I Find It Ironic That...

...the Yankee fans seem to be accusing the Rangers of "buying" Cliff Lee, and claiming it's the only reason the Rangers are winning the series, and that the Yankees should have Lee in a fair world.   It sounds like how everyone else describes the Yankees.   I don't believe that a team can "buy a championship" because the team is just that--a team, and anyone they trade for at the deadline is a part of that team. I don't believe that the Yankees "bought" any of their 27 championships, and I don

I Apologize, Giants Fans

Might I say that you have a very good chance after all, and if you win tonight, the Giants have it in the bag.   I did not expect Cliff Lee to just fall apart like he did last night. The Rangers now have to have big, big outings from Wilson, Lewis, and Lee the second time around, or else the Giants will easily take advantage of the home-field advantage the All-Star Game in Anaheim got them.   However, I'm still guessing Rangers in 6, but it's now very likely that the Giants could win in the sa

How To Get Blog Approvals

Make an entry stating that GregF did not mean to boycott HF, petition, make banners and so forth when he said the Star Trek quote. A flurry of people will thank you for saying it, and will shower your blog with approvals.   I've seen three recent entries that have done this and received a bunch of approvals. I of course, agree with them, but they all have my approval already.
