This Is Probably Going To Take A While

And yes, there's going to be somebody standing there. I've actually gotten further along on that part... I just hid the layers. =)   Eh, it's probably pushing it, but I did try to imitate the patterns on Bionicle parts, and the wall and the floor do "fit together" if you look at the connection.   EDIT: And this is why we read! Yeah, off to do some modifications since I think that's stretching it way too much as far as custom goes. Wall sucked anyway. Might be able to get away with the floor an

This Is Not Helping With Those Essays

>.< Bad time of life I chose to start watching anime.   Oh yeah.     I'm going to need to retouch the first part that I colored... after I finish shading the last leg.

This Is Indeed An Honors Program

I love Organic Chem at the Columbia SHP.   We goof off ten times as much as we do in Chem class at school, yet we haven't broken anything yet. On the other hand, at least once every two labs in AP Chem you hear the tinkle of shattering labware.   Speaking of which I gave my sister a carbon dioxide lab glove balloon today.

This Document Is Officially Too Long

... however I'm really annoyed because I had a screenshot of the error message and Photoshop for no reason whatsoever crashed on me and simply closed without even giving me an error or not responding. Probably has to do with the virus scan I'm running... which is annoying enough in it's own right by completely murdering my CPU and the stupid antivirus programs are practically worse than viruses anyway and STUPID @*(&(*!&!! AAARGH HATE HATE HATE okay I'm done. Plus it's not giving me the

They Updated The Rank Images

*lurves my new Rahkshi rank image to death*   Now I have to go off on a posting spree, just so I can see it under my name.

There's Something In This World...

There's something in this world that nobody has seen. It's something gentle, and very sweet.Probably, if it could be seen, everybody would want it. That's exactly why nobody has seen it.So that it could not be so easily obtained, the world hid it away. However, one day, somebody will find it.The person who should obtain it—that person alone—will be the one who can clearly see it.   And that's how it goes.

Them Durned Newfangled Tek-nawlojeez

It's amazing, isn't it...   My parents both went to college, then graduate school. Both have PhD's. And my dad spends his days doing computer programing to boot! He orders new "toys" all the time, various new high-speed stuff, more memory, and gadgets I can't even begin to fathom the function of.   Now recently our family cell phone plan has been switching around and all, and I have no idea what my parents have been doing to it but we've got a family set of brand spankin' new phones, with all

The Winds Are Changing...

Ah, yes, change is good...   ...   Yes, I love The Lion King, but that wasn't the point of this entry.   The point is, the weather is improving. Today was sorta blustery but yesterday, oh man, yesterday, it was EIGHTY DEGREES OUT! I mean, but a week ago I was freezing my fingers off and there was snow on the ground! And yesterday was so beautiful! Nothing more than a nice breeze, sun hot enough to make you genuinely sweat without even excercising,   PRETTY WEATHER!   Yeah. We went to the p

The Whole "shrinking" Thing...

I think I was reminded of this because of Asimov's Fantastic Voyage, which I read about a month ago, and Fantastic Voyage II which I just borrowed but haven't read yet. Er, in case you don't get the connection I'm about to make, the novels involve miniaturization technology: a shrinking machine, essentially.   Anyway, you know the movie "Honey I Shrunk the Kids"? If I remember correctly, the principle behind the shrinking machine was that all atoms are made of mostly empty space, which is true,

The Value Of Being Well Read

This year I'm trying to read all the books that I've heard of and should have read already by now. I think I mentioned that earlier. So far I've read 2001: A Space Odyssey, I, Robot, War of the Worlds, about half of Catch-22 (though entertaining, I couldn't get through it before I had to return it), I have Something Wicked This Way Comes sitting in my room but I haven't read it yet, same goes for Farenheit 451, you can probably tell I like science fiction... I've also read Eragon just because e

The Thing About Years...

They're a lot longer than you'd think at first.   I mean, I look back and think, "2008 is over already? It feels like it's barely begun!" But then I think more... and I realize a heckuva lot of stuff has happened this year. Earlier this year, I was still in 11th grade. When this year started, I hadn't even taken my SATs yet. By the end of the year I've finished applying to colleges. This year I spent the summer in Pittsburgh, and the last day there we watched the Olympic opening ceremonies... a

The Power Of Rock (wip 1)

I couldn't think of a better send-off to give the Matoran Universe as we leave it next year.   Once I'm done with this second, more refined sketch layer, I'm going to duplicate the layer (since I don't like losing information) and paint directly on top of it.   On another note, today I hit a milestone: the word document on which I have 52-pickup saved, excluding the pages of notes, is now 50 pages long. Chapter 6 is up to 1900ish words, so I can probably finish it today. Add to that all the fr

The Parade

Well, I was going to just sit there all morning and watch but my sister didn't want to watch so she started dragging me upstairs to play with her (since both my parents were busy).   So I start to leave just as the Foster's float pulls in and they start their song right when I'm at the foot of the stairs and halfway up the stairs all of a sudden! I hear the opening strains of something very familiar.   I'm like, "Wait did they change the channel? Why is 'Never Gonna Give You Up' on TV anyway t

The Pain Caught Up With Me!

Ow!   Okay so I'm currently waiting for the painkiller to kick in and trying to ignore the sharp throbbing in my left upper gum.   I think I'll go watch random Vocaloid vids off Nico to distract myself...   The disappointing thing is the painkiller isn't having any funky mind-altering effects. :< That might partially make up for the whole experience, but noooo I don't even feel drowsy.

The Old Playground By The Ballpark

There used to be a playground not very far from my house. Three houses down, then accross the street, past the basketball court, past the baseball field, and there it was. All the other playgrounds in our development were much bigger, all big giants competing in size and flashiness, but this little guy had two slides, a funny mirror, a steering wheel, and a counter underneath for playing pretend "store."   Yeah, it was a very small playground, but when I was little, when we had just moved here,

The Deadline Approaches...

AGH AGH AGH AGH AGH AGH AGH AGH AGH.   AAAAAAAAAAUGH.   Oh yeah if you noticed I'm using the "flipping" technique, helps you get a new perspective on your image and pick out flaws you didn't see before.     AAAAAAUGH.

The Book Thief

Anyone remember months and months ago, I believe I discussed I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak?   I've just finished another book of his. The Book Thief.   Oh my gosh it was amazing. It was just beautiful, a telling look into the triumph and tragedy of the human experience, about people, about life, death, and the power of words. Definitely a hundred percent reccommended to anyone who'll pass by a library or bookstore any time soon. It's long (took me over a week) but certainly worth it.   I

The Blogs Live On!

So, it seems we are back!   Well, I've got to catch 52-pickup back up again... the entire topic was gone. Of course, this is why I kept the entire story safely on my computer and backed up several times on my e-mail account (because I'm paranoid). So once I can figure out the double-post prevention thing I'll get all fifteen chapters that should have been up by the past Sunday up.   In terms of life... well, tomorrow's Certamen, the Latin competition. I really need to study. I've just been e-m

The Annoying Thing About Cell Phones

This was a much quicker doodle than my last random comic on life, so if you can't tell what's going on: my cell phone rings from inside my backpack, I go to get it as fast as I can, as I'm taking it out I grab the top half and it accidentally flips open a bit, but then I half-drop it for a second and it snaps shut again... so the phone registers that as me answering the call and hanging up again.   ><

The Aeneid - Book 10

Goodness that was graphic! It's like 300, except in epic poem format. All this brutal stabbing and slashing and killing and maiming... wow.   Vergil coulda directed an action movie. XD   I suppose standards were different back then and having a spear shoved through the back of your throat was seen as perhaps a less gruesome way of dying just because of the way wars were fought in the first place. Or maybe not and Vergil just wanted an epic bloody gory battle scene.   Also, what's with all the
