My parents both went to college, then graduate school. Both have PhD's. And my dad spends his days doing computer programing to boot! He orders new "toys" all the time, various new high-speed stuff, more memory, and gadgets I can't even begin to fathom the function of.

Now recently our family cell phone plan has been switching around and all, and I have no idea what my parents have been doing to it but we've got a family set of brand spankin' new phones, with all the camera and photo sending and games and probably internet and IM access.

Two adults who've run the entire course of higher education with high degrees, and they haven't a clue how to open the text messaging utility.

Yet give a cell phone to even the dumbest of high school or middle school kids and they'll be sending and receiving messages within five minutes.
