Heroes!

Yay plot twists I didn't see coming!   Yay prettyful special effects!   Yay complex plot and ensemble cast!   Yay being able to understand a surprising amount of the Japanese Hiro and Ando spoke. I mean, I don't suppose I could understand it without the subtitles but I recognized several words, "omae" you "boku" me "sekai" world (as in, save the world; heard that a lot ) "unmei" destiny (heard that several times too. Lol Hiro) and there weren't many very complicated sentences.   Can't wait

What If...

What if there was a mountain as tall as Everest... nay, better, TALLER than Everest, but it was smack dab on the Equator?   Would it be really hot or really cold at the summit? Where does proximity to the sun balance with thin air being unable to hold heat? Would it not be strange to have a load of ice and snow sitting on the hottest area on Earth?   I don't know where I think of these things.   Also, it's a picture.   Yay for Prismas.

Back With A Vengeance!

Anyone remember this girl? If not filename should clue you in.   Ah, she's fun to draw. Doodled her this morning while waiting for class to start. Anyway. I've been working on my skills at clothes. Recently doodled my sleeves and jeans in class for practice. I think I've gotten marginally better, as in the above doodle. Oh yeah, suffering from giraffe syndrome as often happens when I doodle the head first and decide to tack on the body afterwards. Tried to move her shoulders up a bit digitally

Morbid Physics Problems

Do I really have to think about the maximum deceleration a skydiver with a parachute failure could survive while I'm doing physics?   Or how long a rock climber has to live when he falls off a 50 meter cliff?

Grammar Check

I'm writing my English summer reading essay, right? Microsoft Word does not agree with me. Word says that the "who" should be a "whom." I tried restructuring the sentence so I could analyze it...   The ultimate denial of truth (subject) that Palmer Eldritch commits (relative clause) is (linking verb) to literally become someone other than who he really is (???).   Anyone really good at grammar out there (I feel weird asking that on a site like this) who has some thoughts on this?   Anyway,

Ice Cream

You know, when it comes down to it... on a hot day in spring, nearly summer, what in the world beats a nice bowl of freezing cold ice cream?   It's the little things in life. All about the little things.

Nature's Like That

Well, it's winter.   Thank you Captain Obvious.   Anyway, the days have grown very short but in these days in the month past solstice we have the rare opportunity of seeing the sunrise on every lucid morning. I get up at 6 and go to the bus stop at 6:55 AM each day, and that just so happens to coincide with the length of the night so that walking to the stop, or whilst riding the bus, outside the sun just happens to be rising.   Several weeks ago I had the rare opportunity of seeing the sun r

Fearless Animals

Back home a squirrel will run up a tree if you get within ten feet of it.   Today I QUITE LITERALLY fed a squirrel, OUT OF MY HAND. I mean, that crazy squirrel was bolder than the pigeons! I had to hold really still to get the pigeons to come close. But when the squirrel saw the peanut, it GRABBED IT OUT OF MY HAND. After it finished it was scratching at my leg for more!   I mean, it was behaving like a dog! o_O It looked like it was on its hind legs and "begging."   Very cute though. Never s

Wisdom Teeth

They're coming out tomorrow morning.   I'm gonna be on all sorts of painkillers for the rest of tomorrow and over the weekend! I should probably marathon Lain while I'm still pumped full of drugs. It'd probably make more sense.   Anyway. Yaaaay surgery.

Special Day!

Guesswhatguesswhat? =D   ...   I'm sixteen today! =D   Because it's my birthday! =D   And I has cake! =D   ...   I should stop punctuating my sentences with =D shouldn't I? =D   So anyway I drew this for today and stuff. Yes. Lyg is old.   Came in third for the AC, but that's okay. There's always next time, and I'll be better by then. In the meantime, congrats to MartianMan for a job well done (won the contest of his own theme, how fitting )   EDIT: On a side note, to any Photoshop use

Excel Saga

First off, I make this promise to myself:   I am NOT going to watch another episode until I get these first four college apps done.   Now, for the hard part... willpower...   So basically I've heard Excel Saga mentioned several places so I looked it up and read the basic premise and it sounded really funny so today I finally decided to satisfy my curiosity and watched the first episode.   It was hilarious.   And weird.   Mostly hilarious.   I read that the English dub actress for Excel st

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

I JUST WATCHED ALL 27 EPISODES OF THIS SHOW IN TWO DAYS.   OHGAAAAD I COULDN'T STOP MYSEEEEEELF D:   To describe how awesome this anime was would be beyond the language rules of BZP. So basically. It was awesome.   Unfortunately a lot of this entry's gonna have to be in spoiler tags.   First thing's first. Does anyone know if there's anywhere where I can find this image in wallpaper size, or at least a nice high quality version? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Because th

The Whole "shrinking" Thing...

I think I was reminded of this because of Asimov's Fantastic Voyage, which I read about a month ago, and Fantastic Voyage II which I just borrowed but haven't read yet. Er, in case you don't get the connection I'm about to make, the novels involve miniaturization technology: a shrinking machine, essentially.   Anyway, you know the movie "Honey I Shrunk the Kids"? If I remember correctly, the principle behind the shrinking machine was that all atoms are made of mostly empty space, which is true,

90 Minute Delayed Reaction

Guess what? It snowed about two inches today. Thats JUST enough that a car coming by will crush it into ice as opposed to just melting it under friction, like when we got a centimeter. So naturally roads covered in ice are not exactly safe, so we need to bring in the plows.   Therefore, lo and behold, we got a 90 minute delayed opening! Huzzah!   Guess what? JUST as I was loading the school website to check for a delayed opening, as my danged internet connection was going "Connecting... connec

Irrational, Imaginary, Incredible

How truly wonderful the universe is can be seen in this simple equation:     While reviewing for my math final, I found this in the text book. And quite frankly, it's astounding. Five of the most important numbers in mathematics related, two of which are irrational, one of which does not exist in the real system.   e, the natural base for exponential functions, the limit as x goes to infinity of (1+1/x)^x. e^x is the ONLY equation whose derivative is itself. The slope of e^x at any point is

*shot*

No seriously. I was shot today.   ...   At the doctor's office.   With a meningitis vaccine. Booster shot.   The nurse told me to relax the muscle she was gonna stick the needle in. I don't think I quire relaxed it enough before KKTCH she stuck it in. My shoulder is now sore.   And I have the Tasmanian Devil on my Band-Aid for some reason. XD   Oh, and...   HEROES FINALE TONIGHT! IN TWENTY MINUTES HOLY COW I'M EXCITED...   ...sixteen really but who's counting.
