Yay being able to understand a surprising amount of the Japanese Hiro and Ando spoke. I mean, I don't suppose I could understand it without the subtitles but I recognized several words, "omae" you "boku" me "sekai" world (as in, save the world; heard that a lot ) "unmei" destiny (heard that several times too. Lol Hiro) and there weren't many very complicated sentences.

What if there was a mountain as tall as Everest... nay, better, TALLER than Everest, but it was smack dab on the Equator?
Would it be really hot or really cold at the summit? Where does proximity to the sun balance with thin air being unable to hold heat? Would it not be strange to have a load of ice and snow sitting on the hottest area on Earth?

Ah, she's fun to draw. Doodled her this morning while waiting for class to start. Anyway. I've been working on my skills at clothes. Recently doodled my sleeves and jeans in class for practice. I think I've gotten marginally better, as in the above doodle. Oh yeah, suffering from giraffe syndrome as often happens when I doodle the head first and decide to tack on the body afterwards. Anyway, the days have grown very short but in these days in the month past solstice we have the rare opportunity of seeing the sunrise on every lucid morning. I get up at 6 and go to the bus stop at 6:55 AM each day, and that just so happens to coincide with the length of the night so that walking to the stop, or whilst riding the bus, outside the sun just happens to be rising.

Today I QUITE LITERALLY fed a squirrel, OUT OF MY HAND. I mean, that crazy squirrel was bolder than the pigeons! I had to hold really still to get the pigeons to come close. But when the squirrel saw the peanut, it GRABBED IT OUT OF MY HAND. After it finished it was scratching at my leg for more!
I mean, it was behaving like a dog! o_O It looked like it was on its hind legs and "begging."

I think I was reminded of this because of Asimov's Fantastic Voyage, which I read about a month ago, and Fantastic Voyage II which I just borrowed but haven't read yet. Er, in case you don't get the connection I'm about to make, the novels involve miniaturization technology: a shrinking machine, essentially.
