Unseen -- Chapter 1 -- Monster Mystery Results

Today the Bones Blog brings you Chapter One of this Bionicle Paracosmos blog-exclusive "Adventure Mystery" short epic, which serves as a slow-reveal of the winner of the Monster Mystery Art contest. No need to read previous stories to understand it; if you want to though, see here (this story does contain Mindfire spoilers -- my Epics-Contest-winning murder mystery; that would be a good single story to read before starting this). Bionicle Paracosmos Bonus Episode #4 unseen Chapter 1

Universe Swept Aside

Poem. A new universe Worlds blink into existence First large and wide second pulling together into shimmering orbs A moon here, a planet there, a comet streaking there Growing in size Growing in number Blink One second twenty worlds Next second a million Even as the universe grows, its fate is sealed Worlds grow too large. Out of control. Worlds merge. Collapse. Two great arms stretch out A horrible chorus of screams reaches beyond the univer

Unauthorized Biography Of Pumaa And Other Updates

Updates:   1) Go check out Swert's latest "bonus" Multiverse story, The Unauthorized Biography Of Toa Pumaa! This is an "episode 4.5" of sorts but it doesn't really spoiler anything from Cipher Chronicles, so check it out even if you haven't read those! It's been a fun project to work with Swert on, and we hope you guys like it.     2) Taxes are taxing. Yeah.   3) I've got Endless Blue almost totally written. Just the final few chapters of the end showdown to write. I think yall'll like it.

U N M O C A B L E Contest

Welcome to the next Bones Blog MOC contest! One of the most frequent set-related complaints I have seen posted on our forums is that certain Bionicle parts are supposedly "unMOCable" -- impossible to use in a Bionicle building creation in any way other than the original way the part was intended. Victims of this accusation range from Rhotuka spinners to Piraka spines. I challenge that anti-imagination claim, and you should too. Here's your big chance to prove the naysayers wrong -- e

U F O Theory -- Ionic Triangle Stealth Craft

So I wanted to post something besides the usual essay today but couldn't think of anything fast enough. This is a fallback I've had ready for a while, ever since an old (dead) COT topic. Plus someone else was blogging about UFOs so why not (see Czar's blog). Now, the UFOs in question here aren't the flying saucers. It's the giant, silent triangle craft with three running lights. There have been sightings all over the country, and I even know someone who claims to have seen one. This descript

Tyrants Entry List And Other Updates

Entry List is up to date. There are a number of comments with problem entries under Powers. Anyone who wrote a Powers entry should look through. All MOCs except one qualified. I won't have time today to send out the PMs, so the final week for the edit period has NOT started yet. I'll probably try to send the PMs out tomorrow, after rechecking the list against all entries to make sure none were missed (with one sole exception hopefully/apparently, that will be looked into), then

Twisted Island News

Attention all Paracosmos fans! Twisted Island is now fully reposted up to where I had left off before the "Dataclysm". The never-before-seen Chapter 18 is up!       Speaking of Twisted Island, Ojhilom and my FCG contest entry, Enigma Pacman, is coming along great (it is set on TI in late 2006 story). The gameplay is pretty much finished; I just have to complete graphics, especially enemy graphics.   For that, the smaller winners of the Beasts MOC blog contest (the creatures used in the epic

Twisted Island Banners

Made a new banner for Twisted Island. Made two support banners for sigs from it. Made with colored pencil. I decided it would be faster to make via paper than Powerpoint. And so it was. Am also working on various other Twisted Island art in Powerpoint. Probably will be an artwork topic around when the epic's fully posted. Support Banners: [url="http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=307662"][img=http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/bonesiii/SigStuff/ParacosmosBanners/

Twisted Island Art

Artwork topic for Twisted Island, with a lot of new pics, just posted. Enjoy! Some of the art, just to give you a taste (this is NOT the best art in there, so view the topic ): A topic for many new BP masks (greats of nobles and vice versa) is coming soon, maybe next week.

Tren Krom, 3cool Monsters Art Topics, Contest Updates

Random Cool Monsters <-- Could use replies, and includes two monstrous avs. Also: Tren Krom! Wallpaper, Banners, Avs! Powerpoint Face Contest is now closed. I'm PMing winners to ask them to send me the .ppt files where necessary to make the avatars. Without revealing their names just yet, this contest turned out so well it's been more about deciding who has to lose than who won -- Ojhilom and I decided that we had to judge winners by anybody that's over a certain level of quality, rat

Transillumination

So, making poetry is fun and it's been a while since I've done any on my blog. But this turned out to be more of poetic prose. Technically I believe it's considered a "short short story." Anyways, enjoy, and you get extra points if you figure out what the title means.     Transillumination   Last in line at grocery checkout, shortest line open but short isn't the word. Running late.   First in line's an old lady moving very slow. Very doesn't cut it. Extremely. Many groceries. Unloading slow

Track Blog Toolbar Code

Today the Bones Blog brings you a quick blogging tip; some simple code to put near the top of your blog sidebars that can help you "hook" readers better. Why Should I Care? Well, if you don't have a blog, you might not, but if you're a blogger on BZP, you definately should care. Every blog should have tracking options in a sidebar content block. If I've just entered a blog I've never read before, and I like it, I should be able to click a button that lets me keep track of the blog in th

To Cure Hiccups (for real)

I have noticed that the most effective, simple cure for (normal) hiccups is extremely rarely known, and even when it is known, it's usually not explained properly. I figured this out over the years by simple logic from the explanations in the news of what normal hiccups are, and have been testing it successfully for years. So here it is (basics in bold for easy skimming).   Hiccups are essentially muscle spasms in the diaphragm -- the muscle that forms the "floor" of the lungs and is one of two

The Undead Blog, Rpg News

Hello, all. I'm posting this entry for two reasons. 1) To assure yall that this blog is not dead. Just overloaded by homework (summer classes...), the latest BZPower Reference Project, which is very time-consuming (wish I could say more--but you'll find out hopefully this summer!), and #2: 2) News on the RPG (Bionicle Paracosmos: The Map of Mata Nui). The topic may be dead, but the RPG is not--Ojhilom and I are hard at work getting that skeletal version of the Le-Koro Level ready for thi

The Quest For Cool Fonts--and Other Stuff

Bones is alive, yes! Fear not! Been very busy lately with several things for the S&T forum. One of them you all know about, the other will be announced very soon... and the third you have no clue about, but I think you S&Ters will really like it. Some updates on the Paracosmos: Mostly lately I've been trying to improve the quality of BP banners for the epics n such, so I've been trying many techniques at not only making cool titles with cool effects, but also having a mysterious feel

Enter the 2nd Chances MOC Contest: Beasts! by July 3rd! Winning MOCs will be in Epic #4: Twisted Island! I've been debating on and off whether I should do yet another random stuffish entry or the What Most Fans Want entry today. This won out because of the first random stuffish thing below. WMFW will be next week's entry.Bionicle Paracosmos Epic #3: Captain of Treason will begin early next week! Watch the Epics forum for it! Background for those who don't know -- epic is already writt

The Orange Fades

This is one of my poems from the Poetry class I mentioned I'm taking at my college. Lemme know whatchall think of it. The Orange Fades I saw a carved pumpkin on a porch yesterday. It made me think of an old Autumn-themed scrapbook from my childhood. I pick it up, feel its orange-leather cover. I open it and step into all the photos I wish I’d taken. An unpainted, wooden storefront towers over me, barrels of gourds and miniature pumpkins out front. Orange, red, yellow maples

The Legend of the Bionic Lull

Today the Bones Blog brings you a spoofish attempt to combine punny versions of Bionicle names with their trope functions in-story, summarizing the entire Bionicle storyline in a way that might help you remember Bionicle, might make you laugh, or might make you long for pie jokes. Enjoy!   In the Time Before Microwaves, the Giant Sprite Bottle descended from the sky. His name was Matthew Dewey. Inside the Giant Sprite Bottle, many bionic Matthewians lived, working to keep Matthew healthy.   But

The Islander Short Story & More

So I've been launching stuff left and right this week.   The one I most want people to see is my brand-new Altacosmos (standalone) short story. Clicky banner for link:     I started a poll: Did You Use DesignByMe?   Launched the first General Art contest since it changed to a LEGO-in-general focus (and since I took it over):     Documented LEGO Universe:     And finally, reposted my collection topic:     And in case you missed it, scroll down here for the Best of the Bones Blog archive.
